  1. I bought a Cree 6600 Lumen headlight a couple of months ago - it's excellent. Most of the guys I ride with are using the twin 5000L or the triple 6600L lights when we're out in the middle of nowhere in the dark. Can light up a lane like it's daylight when you get a few of them together!

It's not about the dominance for me, it's the expectation of the fans. Since the formation of the Premier League they have only come as close as Villa to winning the league yet the fans always seem to think it is "their year". It's the death threats they're happy to dish out to their own players when they want to leave, their own manager and even one of their own 16 year old fans. It's the general arrogance in the face of logic. I can't stand them.

Any steward will confirm this. It's in the pre-match briefing every time we play them.
  4. It's a fair point. You could look at them like an inconvenient shit stain in the toilet. It doesn't really bother you that it's there, but you still piss on it every time you visit.
  5. I've heard it should be pretty good. I'd imagine around 37,000. I was going to ask that myself. With attendances so low this season, I was amazed I still can't buy a ticket the day before the game.
  6. Phunnay Pictures Thread was by far the best thread on this site. RIP. Rest wiv da angles.

Balls. I just came on here to post that myself!
  8. I wouldn't. Depends what your budget is though. A friend bought a Carrera road bike from there about 18 months ago and the pedal sheared off within a week. Chain Reaction Cycles usually have some good deals, as do Evans. Make sure you get the right size frame though.
  9. I'm doing the Exmoor Beast on Sunday. Opted for the 100km rather than the 100 miles. Hopefully the weather will be ok...
  10. I've booked Japan in February. Can't wait to get out there. Anyone ever been?
  11. OK, another off topic sport thread. Who's into either of them? Are you heading away this year? Where to? Who actually understands skiers vs snowboarders? What's been your best trip? Where's your favourite place? I've been snowboarding for 12 years and absolutely love it. Got my trip planned for this year and already can't wait...
  12. The SIS tablets are great. I use them when cycling distance day after day, but always use 2 per bottle, or they taste weak. My distance cycling generally doesn't follow the nutrition route though, after the first 50-60 miles, it's more often pub-to-pub...
  13. I'm planning a ride for this weekend. Looking at trying to ride Tiverton to Brum in a day and a half. Hopefully starting off at Tiverton Parkway (got to leave the car somewhere) and getting to Worcester, or just north of, by Saturday night. I want to get my first ever 200km ride in before the nights draw in. The route I've mapped out follows national cycle routes and looks very flat. The only climbs I can see before we hit Gloucester would be one climb over the Mendips and the Avonmouth Bridge. Then I'm going on the lash in Brum on Sunday before getting the Train back to sunny Devon!
  14. The France trip was awesome. Got 177km in on the second day, my longest ride ever. 950km riding in just over a week. For those that can see my Strava (anyone who wants to) it stopped working twice during the trip, but a friend was successful in measuring it. And I'd do that ride again now.
  15. It might be worth doing some research on cadence. I've found maintaining cadence on the flat and on hills has massively increased my stamina. Try to maintain something around 60-90 and you should be fine. The sportive looks good as well, with a reasonable amount of hills. The last one I did was the Smuggler (from Barnstaple), which I clocked at 55 miles and about 6000ft climbing.
  16. Patriotism is overrated. To be proud of your geographical heritage is nonsensical. Great Britain is a great place to be/live, regardless of where you were born. We are at the pinnacle of human development as a species, and Britain is one of the best places in the world to live it. We have the best technological development in the world, we have the best state health service in the world, and we have a welfare state which, while heavily abused by many, is among the best in the world. Our streets are relatively free from crime and disease, we are among the richest nations on the planet. We have a rich culture of history and art, and a beautiful, green land that is the envy of the world. Yet the British people are a bunch of miserable horse vaginas.
  17. Anyone want to introduce Strava into this thread? As a starter, here's my last ride (Friday afternoon) http://app.strava.com/activities/164580270
  18. Got my big summer challenge starting on the 24th. Cycling from the north coast of Brittany through to Spain. 824km. I honestly can't wait to get out there and get riding now! I'm thinking about adding the extra 100km on this weekend by riding Barnstaple to Plymouth, via Tavistock. Weather dependent - I'm not going to bother if it rains...
  19. Cider is my fuel. Got a 60-Miller planned for this Saturday (Barnstaple to Teignmouth) and the destination will be The Ship, a nice pub on the harbour...
  20. It's a cannondale caad8 105, pure joy to ride it.. Riding a CAADX 105 myself, I can only imagine!
  21. Looks like 105 as well, excellent choice Sir!
