  1. I am moving jobs and my boss who is head of HR is struggling through loadsof CV's and just sent me a clip of someones interests. Looking at this, what interests do you have that uyou just wouldnt put on a CV? Rob? we all know!! This is of someones actual CV!!
  2. The storm chasing nut I share an office with says that the press are making more of this than it is and it is nowhere near a worry as he reckons at most they will get a gust of around 80mph which is nothing compared to anything bad that they have had before. The National Hurricane Centre will release another statement in 10 mins so will see what they say
  3. Apprently all the fixtures and fittings from the King Edward will be moved to Aston Tavern, paid for by Birmingham City council, well that's what the owner of the Edward wants, if Birmingham City council don't want it to have to go to court then they must go with what he wants, they will do up the beer garden and a carpark will be at the rear also. Not sure of how many spaces they will allow him. That's what he has apparently asked for. The HCA will pay, not Birmingham Council as the Tavern is on their land. They offered it him and I don't think at first he was overjoyed, as long as they do a proper job I'm sure he will be very happy. It will be a profitable spot. Good to hear about the Metro, I didn't see it as part of the AAP. Will be a good way to link the inner city. A lot of work to be done on the Aston Tavern, thats for certain!
  4. Not to be biased but the photography is possibly the most important investment we could make on a wedding. It's the one thing that will last longer than even the rings possibly will and the memories are priceless as we get older. Very very unappreciated at times. Dont get me wrong, i look back at them now and consider them priceless, just at the point of putting my debit card in the machine i thought "these pictures better be printed on gold leaf!". I realise now how hard the photographer works and i didnt realise how many they actually take. He didnt miss a trick, the amount of superb pictures he took without us knowing was brilliant. My GF does all the make up, hair etc for weddings and her best mate does all the photos and is bloody amazing! No she isnt cheap but you get what you pay for. They were both doing the wedding of someone on the 1st of september and the couple have cancelled saying that her mate will do the make up and uncle will do photos for 75% cheaper! This is one area where you really dont want to go cheap on.
  5. i wont be on the high tax bracket, dont know if that is a bad thing though
  6. Comes with a fuel card too so even more tax I guess, not complaining though as my current job has no car and spending £80 a week on fuel plus insurance, tax etc etc and it pays 5 grand more. The job is based from home as mainly driving around loads of different waste depots. The tax on the 1.6 Blue Motion seems to be at 16% which works out at about £680 which seems good, the 2.L auto works out at 17% at £760
  7. I have just got myself a new job and am being a given a company car, now I dont want to just jump in and get screwed on tax so some advice is needed. The company car would be a 1.6 TDI Blue motion Passat SE and I am wondering what tax I would pay on that? Its a bit confusing to a newbie in the company car world but I want an automatic but not sure if it is much more tax? I think the auto only comes in a 2 litre. Cheers
  8. Theres a good boy! get your Milk down and and punish he rusty sheriffs badge in return
  9. his slips alway seem to come after a **** up. its like he thinks he can hide behind the slip Then the faking of an injury comes after the slip... Then looking at a fellow player as if it was a bad pass!
  10. I don't think Warnock is that bad. I think he's a Premier League player. I think he's more than good enough for any of the promoted clubs, and more. His confidence for us has been shot to shit, he just needs to move on and refresh his career. It would be the best thing for us and Warnock I think. Having the skill is one thing but utilising it is another thing, if he cant do that he can not be classed as good enough. A player is only as good as his last game and it has been a long time since he played well. Although I agree his confidence isnt at its best, a lot of it with him is that he dont give a shit. if youre only as good as your last game then were **** - cos Vlaar n Clark were absolutely chronic against Bremen....... Yeh but we are talking one game so lets not get into being over dramatic about what I said, One game is a bit different to a few seasons

  12. Some good info The Birmingham Concept Utilising the NEC on the outskirts of Birmingham in a sports hall complex. Using the original 8 halls and the construction of hall 9 as the media centre. The Olympic Village Set in 105 acres of parkland (now Bickenhill Plantation) it was to feature 2,500 homes to athletes, trainers and other staff. The proposals were to construct the village with an emphasis on mini communities each around it's own village green. Facilities would have included: Banks Cinemas Parks Shops Bars/Restaurants After the Olympics the Athletes Village was to be removed an relocated to other areas of the city to meet community needs and supplement housing stock elsewhere. Those that remain would become timeshare properties, larger units would become business units similar to Birmingham Business Park. Venues The bid was to utilise the following venues Stoneleigh park (Equestrian) International Canoe and Rowing Centre, Nottingham (Canoeing and Rowing) Weymouth Harbour (Sailing) National Shooting Centre, Wolverhampton (Shooting) NEC, Birmingham (Various other sports, Badminton, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Boxing etc) Edgbaston Priory Club (Tennis) Birmingham International Swimming Pool, Saltley (Swimming, Diving) Birmingham Velodrome (location undisclosed) New arena (location undisclosed) Birmingham Hockey Centre (location undisclosed) Birmingham International Swimming Pool Plans The Olympic Stadium Planned by Ove Arup, it was to be a revolutionary design and equipped to the most advanced technology seating up to 75,000 spectators. Adjoined to the stadium would the warm up tracks. After the Olympics, the stadium was to be adjoined to the NEC complex, roofed and become Europes largest arena. Some arena! Financing In 1985 the games were predicted to cost $700 million. $265 million was provided for the construction of new facilities ($133 million for the Olympic Stadium, $34 million for construction of other new facilities, $18 million upgrades to existing facilities). Athletes village to cost $80 million. Operating costs have been costed at $395 million. These include $175 for organisation and administration, $76 million for security, $64 million for media and communication, operating costs of facilities equated to $27 million, operating costs of Olympic village $16 million, transport $5 million, Marketing $32 million. Funding would come from the IOC Media sales totalled to be in the region of $330 million and $485 million, whilst sponsorship and licencing is estimated to bring in $125 million and $145 million. Ticket sales in the region of $115 and $150 million. Stamps, lotteries and coinage to bring in $50 million. It was expected that the games bring in a revenue of $620 million to $830 million. Total spending in the wider economy was expected to reach $1,300 million and create 18,000 man hours of employment. In summary, the bid was sound, however lacked depth. The document was 60 pages long compared to 130+ in Paris' bid. There was a lack of emphasis on transportation, in particular the air infrastructure. It was heavily reliant on visitors accessing Birmingham via hubs, which would have impacted on spectator numbers and revenue.
  13. Wasn't it all to be built at the NEC ? I think I still have the T-shirt!!! Yeh we got no backing what so ever which caused a bit of a anger, looking back it was a blessing not getting it as it would have been shocking though maybe the government would of got involved then. I cant believe that they included the Birmingham City Council Logo in the logo!! Not sure how much was spet but the council house held a very big announcment party with a big screen and the shocked faces when we never got it seemed sureal.
