  1. James Milner's shot against Sunderland didn't stop at the net, in an event missed by the cameras. It in fact burst through the net, ploughed through a crowd of fat geordies, broke a hole in the stadium of light and continued to rise. Scientists have said that the ball is in fact still rising and has reached the outer reaches of the solar system. They have measured it's trajectory and concluded that there are some rocks on Pluto that look like goalposts, and the ball is heading directly for the top corner.
  2. Hopefully we'll win this. Can't see Stoke turning us over in our current form. A win here would take the pressure off for the Arsenal game so hopefully set us up for another great result there.
  3. We have to take the days between Xmas and New Year as holiday every year, so we always have a big break. And I've just used very little holiday so can afford to take an extra 5 days before xmas eve. It feels good being able to switch off tonight for nearly 3 weeks
  4. Godammit, I won't be home for any of them. If anyone has any highlights I'd love to see them. Only managed to catch the second half on the radio. Great result though. I was so worried we'd follow up the OT result with a lacklustre display here, but Villa delivered. A brilliant birthday present!
  5. I'm not back until Jan 4th. Woop diddy woop!
  6. My last day of work today. Just 8 hours and 21 minutes to go until I'm on my xmas hols. I can't wait!
  7. I went for Salifou, Harewood etc. Giving up the UEFA cup was a big mistake BUT, a call I think a lot of managers would have made. Had we gone on to beat SToke and carry on our run it would have been seen a s a good decision. Selling Cahill wasn't a mistake. Not focusing on the cups wasn't a mistake Hesky/442/capitulation are all seperate issues. Can't be grouped as 1. He didn't let Mellberg go. He saw out his contract. I'm sure he was given plenty of opportunity to stay.
  8. But i've heard it is not an accurate depiction of true live events, according to friends and family of Ole Big head, so i refused to watch that. It may well be a decent movie, but if tit's not accurate to cloughie's legend, i shan't be watching. I don't think it's ever claimed to be anything other than fiction based on true events. Much like the Da Vinci Code, it's just the viewers that get it into their heads that it's a true story. It's a brilliant film and a brilliant book regardless of if it's accurate or not.
  9. I have received nothing for my birthday...yet. No doubt I'll have asome random DVDs waiting for me when I get home. Think the rents are getting me a retro villa shirt so that'll be cool. Someone in my office has now remembered, cue lots of embarassing "o yeh I've just remembered too, happy birthday" Oh well, I only have to work with them for one more day then I'm moving
  10. No way will this be easy. Not by a long shot. I could see us losing this to be honest, but hope we won't. I'll go for a scrappy 1-0 win.
  11. I thin people are confusing "Worst" with "most disappointing" or "worst in comparison to their relative performances from last year" How anyone could vote someone like Young as our worst player this season is beyond me. The only one on that list worthy of that title is Sidwell, imo.
  12. It's my birthday today. No-one in my office has remembered. I have great colleagues.
  13. After having some time to reflect I'll post my ratings Friedel: 8 - Didn't have too much to do, but his save in the 87th minute from Berbatov was superb. It was glossed over by the commentators on ESPN and MOTD but it deserves recognition. People doubt Brad's reactions these days, but that was a top top save. Young: 9 Dunne: 9.5 Cuellar: 9 Warnock: 9-------The whole defence was superb, Dunne being the marginal standout and MOTM for me Young: 9 Extra points for the assist. Dangerous all game Milner: 7.5 Worked hard as always. I'm his biggest fan but he lacked a final ball yesterday. SSecond half he gave away possession quite a lot. Petrov: 8.5 Brilliant Downing: 8 very promising Gabby: 9 Nuff said Heskey: 7 did ok. Had a couple of shots which he fluffed. Collins: 8 Did well. Some superb passes, particularly one to Heskey in the second half. NRC: 7.5 Not really on long enough but did well Carew: 7 Fairly quiet. MON: Perfect. Subbed when he needed to sub and clearly the tactics worked very well on the day. Doesn't always get things right, but yesterday he did.
  14. James Milner by a bazillion trillion miles.
  15. I don't think I've ever been happier Fantastic result. We're gonna win the league.
  16. Yeh, pretty sure Burnley beating them was a tad more of a shock. But it's united
  17. That's a joke, right? It's fookin' disgusting.
  18. Fantastic half. Just praying we don't see a second half like we did against Spurs. Rooney looks dangerous, I'm scared every time he gets the ball. But he and giggs are the only ones doing anything for United, so if we can stifle them we have a chance. Their defence looks shakey, lets keep getting at them and snatch another. UTV!!
  19. Whilst I have this gut feelingwe're going to do something today, I can't help thinking it's very much like when we played Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season. There was loads of hype, people saying "oh Villa could win today, they'll get a scalp here" and we got played off the park. I really hope we get a result today, i think we've got a good chance, but can't help thinking it'll be an anti climax.
  20. I don't mind basketball. it's pretty entertaining and its a lot of fun to play. I do think it's too high scoring though. Just not special enough when someone scores (unless its a winner on the buzzer!) Decent sport, that and NFL are the best of the american sports.
