  1. I NEVER think that anyone on VillaTalk who has questions doesn't support our club. I do however think that the current circumstance will be sorted out amicably in the near future, without detriment to the club and without need for concern. There is no spin involved in realising there is a massive gap between an ideal scenario and 'ridiculous'.
  2. Doubts about what? A new assistant, who we may or may not be familiar with, will be appointed and will do a decent to excellent job. I almost live for Villa and I’m not at all concerned about this matter. Join me, you’ll enjoy life more and live longer! I wouldn't worry about the way this has all been handled. Most things in life are complicated and never as straight forward as we think, or would wish. Let the media run with their negatives and persistent worst case scenarios. By Christmas it will all be forgotten and Asda have already rearranged their aisles!
  3. Why would anyone get excited about a first, fourth or fortieth assistant? What questions are important to you in this regard?
  4. I'm not saying an assistant is unimportant but I did not realise how much importance some people put on a number 2. I read that MON was quite 'hands-off' and left the majority of coaching to his two assistants. Do we know that GH is like that? Do we know that GH won't cope with a month or so (which is outside of the transfer window) of 'hands-on coaching'. He won't be short of existing Villa staff who are able to help out at some level. It would appear that GH has not got his favourite first choice assistants but with all the contacts and experience GH has, I find it hard to believe GH doesn't know of a couple of other more than capable candidates. Good things come to those who wait.
  5. Where has that been said ? if this is the case,i dont think GH gave this job enough thought,i mean Thompson now the very man that worked with GH for years.something just doesnt seem right to me. Reading fran_villa's last post and all the fuss over the 7th-12th issue makes me think people are making something over very little. 'Mountains out of mole hills' as I read earlier on the thread. say what you like, but thats how it seems to me..fair enough,if you're happy thats grand by me i just think its turning into a bit of a farce..the company that Randy paid money to bring in GH should have known what lay ahead with this.. I never said I was 'happy', just that it's no big deal. It doesn't surpise me that GH was head and shoulders above anyone else willing or available. The fact that GH is very willing but not readily available for a week or three shouldn't detract from this. An assistant will be found in time. It means KMac takes charge at Stoke and GH works harder for a few weeks until he finds his assistant, so what. I don't see it as the big issue you do. :| I'm also shocked that anyone familiar with the British media is suckered in by the likes of the Daily Mail shit stirring.

  7. General, I'm sure the board and its advisors worked very hard in the process of securing a new manager. Avoiding a flavour of the month name (who were likely to be unavailable anyway), I believe the board made the correct decision in setting out a criteria of requirements. Knowing what most of the factors would be it comes as no surprise to most of us that Mr Houllier got the job. I wish him every success in taking our club forward. He is a very privileged man.
  8. Coincidentally, both have exactly a 25% loss record. Where GH does better is a win record of 50% against MON's 40%. Since 3 points for a win was introduced, too many draws have cost us on numerous occasions.
  9. Meet your new boss. and his new objective. I have two questions for you: 1) Where does 7th to 12th appear as an objective for GH? 2) Why do you appear to hate GH so much?
  10. Clicky To be fair to PT he could have taken a big wage from Villa and tried to 'blag it' for a year or two by arriving at BH at 9:30, leaving at 13:00, not watching future opponents or following up scout reports and demanding a driver for his commute. He obviously know's GH would not accept less than 100% commitment and has admitted he's not in a position to do that. That's honest and suits me.
  11. How will we know? Many decent players who cost a fair bit of money are not available or even interested in a January move. If your question is related to is Randy still willing to spend 'big' on Villa, I don't think we'll find out for certain until 1/9/11.
  12. Yes was always very tactically astute. Thanks for your opinion.
  13. Geniune question (not to make a point, I just don't know the answer): In peoples opinions, is Houllier likely to make tactical changes during a match? I don't mean going a second goal down after 60 minutes and then throwing on 3 subs just to try something different, I mean something like spotting our fullback getting beat too many times and changing the formation and or player(s) to sort it out. The reason I ask is, despite supporting MON whilst he was with us, I did get frustrated at the lack of a 'plan B'.
  14.   Do I not like that I think there needs to be a heavier emphasis on the word 'apparently'.
  15. Alan... Alan Partridge? Thanks for the report. Sounds like Bannan had a great game. He's got a foot like a traction engine.
  16. To answer the question about how I feel re Houllier etc, I posted this on page 598. Of those manager's said to be interested in joining Aston Villa - Houllier, SVG, Curbishley and K Mac, who would be your first choice? If non of the above, who else would you persuade and how?
  17. Fixed* * everyone else seems to do this. :winkold:
  18. err... how you say... err... tish not guud... yah?
  19. I don't rate Allardyce as a manager or like the style of football his teams play. There is also something about the man I really dislike. It could just be his whinging or the gum chewing but I really hope Randy looks elsewhere!
  20. :| Money is very important but I don't think a man who spent £4 million on renovating an historic ruin will sign a manager just because it brings the club a week of interest in the U.S. I'm not saying Bradley won't be considered, just that it would be for his football credentials (not great in my opinion), and not for the very temporary publicity it would bring in the U.S.
  21. When asked about the vacancy Kamara said "O'Neill's gone? Really? When? I must have missed that... I thought he was at lunch..."
  22. So you're naturally hairless everywhere except your scalp? Want to try reading what I wrote again? :bonk: :? I still read it that you haven't any body/pubic hair and therefore don't trim and that if you did have body/pubic hair you would trim. Unless you only have a tiny amount that you deem untrimmable?
