  1. I can get behind this explanation, it makes a lot of sense to me.

The Saudi hit squad wanted to brutally murder him and chop his fingers off with a bone saw and he didn’t want to be brutally murdered with his fingers being chopped off with a bone saw, hence the fight.

  2. Hard to assess as Rotherham were putting men behind the ball and playing on the break. Felt comfortable yet they could have easily have equalised at 1-0. Felt Kodjia, El Ghazi and Hourihane faded in the second half but McGinn and Grealish came into the game more. It was disjointed but that's no real surprise when every transfer window we seem to change half the team. I hope we can start to find a rhythm now but I'm not confident that we will.

  3. Hard to tell if he has potential because clearly he's not a right back and he was caught positionally on several occasions. Think he's worth a go in the centre but he's a liability playing as a full back.

Yeah, as well as Moore did at the end of last season, its a big ask to go from caretaker with no expectations to fully in charge with promotion the goal.

How many times do you get that initial bounce when an assistant coach is promoted to manager, but it quickly wears off and they are found to be out of their depth.

The other thing is that he was always going to have a honeymoon period just because he wasn’t Alan Pardew. I imagine going in after Pardew must be the best job a football manager can get, you are a hero from the off.

  5. I wanted Bruce to go simply because I can’t see us competing at the top of the league with him in charge. We’ve lost 3 of our 5 best players last season with the other 2 heavily linked to moves away so a mid table finish with Bruce seems inenvitable. I would personally rather have taken a gamble and given Henry a go, at the very least he may have got the team playing with some attacking intent.

  6. Awful news, RIP Jlloyd. Think this one hits home a bit more for me because he’s not far off my age and I drive down that road regularly. So sad that young kids have to deal with such a traumatic event, my thoughts are with his family.

  7. There was a documentary on Waco on Channel 5 the other night. Turns out that one of the few survivors, Derek Lovelock regularly comes into my place of work. Just today he asked me where we keep the squirty cream. Still considers himself a Branch Davidian too. Very weird.

  8. I doubled up on my virtual prophylactic and entered a sha forum. Fair to say they are whinging and moaning and desperately trying to deflect from the fact that we are just much better than them. The common complaints seem to be that the ref was against them, the co-commentator was against them, our players were 'diving' regularly and that we have spent loads of money and they've spent absolutely nothing.

I love it when they are this salty, shows they are absolutely gutted that they lost to us.

I haven't had to watch a match that Lawro was commentating on for a long time (thankfully.)

He's on City vs Cardiff today. Good lord his whining moaning voice is insufferable.

Even worse, Lescott is a pundit.

Lee mason in being a shit referee shocker. Cardiff allowed to hack down city players yet no cards, and just denied city a 2nd because he thought a mm offside sane was blocking the sight of the keeper even though he had zero chance of saving it

There’s nowhere in the offside law which states that the keeper must be judged to be able to save the shot for it be offside. He is definitely obstructing the goalkeeper’s view, however to me he looks just about onside.

Absolutely must beat Barnsley next, will be a tough game! They're on a bit of a run

They've won one game (against Sunderland) since the 4th November, so exactly the sort of game we will lose.

Yep I don't disagree with that bit (today certainly wasn't an off day)

What I disagree with is that he works best with a partner.

The formation we played today is our best formation and Davis has been key to that this season. His ability to hold the ball up and bring the attacking midfielders into the game is why we have a winger who scores nearly every week.

I don't like us playing 4-4-2 and I hope as strikers regain fitness Bruce isn't tempted into trying it again (beyond times when it's required tactically of course)

I know what you mean and I would agree more if our central midfielders were making runs off him more consistently. I feel like Adomah has mainly benefited from running onto through balls rather than Davis' hold up play but regardless, I think we can both agree we could do with a striker or two getting fit sharpish.

    I disagree entirely.

Fair enough, that's what opinions are all about. I probably didn't emphasise my main point which is that having a youngster as our only fit striker is a worry because ultimately he will naturally have poor games as well as being knackered from the championship schedule. He's doing very well but we can't rely on him solely because he's bound to have his off days.
