  1. Utter dross signed for ridiculous fees? Like who? All of his signings have been pretty good and the only ridiculous fee really is Rojo. Some you can say slightly cost more than they should have but that is the Manchester United tax. Practically unlimited money going through a transitioning period, clubs are going to rinse us dry on transfer fees. van Gaal isn't in charge of negotiating transfer fees anyway so it would be the same prices no matter who the manager is. Di Maria and Falcao are the only signing that haven't worked out and I don't think van Gaal can even get much blame for them. Falcao was a world class striker and was worth the shot on loan, if he could have got to anywhere near his top form he would have been an amazing signing. Didn't work out but at least we didn't shell out 50m for him. Di Maria didn't work out but again he is a world class player and van Gaal could hardly foresee his mental issues. Di Maria never even wanted to be their in the first place and his heart wasn't in it. His mind completely went after the break in as well. If Di Maria would have shown some mental strength and some desire to actually be in Manchester then he would have been a great signing as he was superb in his first month or two.
  2. He wouldn't have been mentioned because he wasn't playing first team football. If you don't play for your club you don't play for your country, its simple. Lingard is playing for United now so he is in contention for England. He is good enough to play in the Premier League, England cap or no England cap so there is no inflation about it.
  3. It should also be taken into consideration Southgate rates Lingard very highly and would have been putting in good words for him to Hodgson. Lingard and Redmond have been the best u21 players over the last couple of years and should be rewarded for it. Redmond is injured currently but he certainly deserves a call up, although I hope he is overlooked and Ireland can snap him up. I wouldn't call Lingard up myself, if only because all of United's players get injured playing for England, but he is a good young talent and I can certainly see why he is picked over older players like Young and Puncheon who clearly aren't going to have a future in the side. You can say Zaha but he is hardly great for Palace and he was consistently outshone by Redmond and Lingard in the u21s, I like Albrighton as well and probably would have picked him but again he is hardly anything to shout about. None of the options are great and really whoever Hodgson chose to bring up wasn't going to make one bit of difference. He may as well pick one he sees potential in and could have a future in the setup.
  4. He isn't eligible for the u21s. It is an old English name originating from the Saxons and it is predominately found in the Yorkshire and Lancashire areas. Lingard isn't eligible for any other nation.
  5. Didnt he lose 3/4 games in charge last time? Probably wrong but sure he didn't do very well. Won 2, drew 1 and lost 1.
  6. murphy not getting a look in? Came in for 10 minutes against Brazil, unfortunately I didn't get to see that match so not sure how he did.
  7. Doing quite well alongside Williams who is highly rated at United, South Korea aren't attacking much but they are snuffing out any chances easily enough. Good ability on the ball as well. Just a shame the team's whole game plan is to stand there and watch what Edwards and Willock can do so they aren't very effective going forward other than the individual brilliance of those two.
  8. Its a small dividend. They are businessmen running a business, who would have thought they want to make money. They aren't idiots, why would they bleed the club dry? They aren't interested in selling and United is probably the biggest club in the world commercially. They are continuously growing the club not bleeding it dry.
  9. JACKO! I don't even support Villa and I'm going crazy.
  10. He can't be any worse than Andy Carroll.
  11. Di Maria. But then van Gaal played him at wing back and cm He never started a match at wing back and played there at the end of a match like once when we were chasing so he was effectively just playing as a winger. He played at CM during the start of the season and it was his best spell all season, he also played centrally for Madrid the year before in which was the best season of his career so hardly laughable to play him in the position he has excelled at most.
  12. Today has been **** crazy. I'm still pissed off about Adnan but at least this De Gea stuff is funny. It would have been the greatest thing ever if we somehow managed to sign Navas and keep De Gea.
  13. So, Adnan is gone on loan. No doubt to never be seen again. I'm fecking pissed. How does he go from starting 4 matches in a row to being shipped out on loan. If he doesn't come back then van Gaal can feck right off.
  14. **** knows whats going on. I refuse to believe Adnan is going anywhere and will be pissed if he does. Hernandez didn't want to be there and he wasn't good enough to warrant the playing time he wanted so its good that he is gone. We obviously need someone to replace him though which sounds like it is going to be this Martial guy. Never seen him play but he is very highly rated so I'm all for the signing. For the reported 36m I'd like to see someone more proven but prices are getting so **** I don't know what anyone is worth these days. Even then it is very risky to rely on a 19 year old as our only backup but there just isn't any top striker available. I would have loved to have signed Benteke and think he would have fit in great. Now, I'd settle for someone like Berahino to come in and offer some depth. Tbf we needed the central midfielders as we were very thin there and Schneiderlin has solved a lot of our defensive issues. I'd still like to have seen a new CB and to sort out wtf is going on with the keepers as Romero isn't good enough. I think we've got a fairly strong team though and even bringing in a couple of new players isn't going to change much as the personnel is the biggest problem but the way we are setup to play is. We are too slow on the ball. Everything is behind the ball, no runs into space, no one trying to get in behind the defenders. It is all ball to feet and then look up to pick out someone else to feet. It is too easy to defend. There are a couple instances each match where we pick the tempo up and we look really threatening but then just revert to type and slowly pass the ball around again. We need to mix it up, keeping possession is great but it isn't great on its own.
  15. Di Marzio claims we are in for Ljajic. http://gianlucadimarzio.com/news-cat/roma-trattativa-in-corso-con-laston-villa-per-ljajic/ Is this Di Marzio creditable?I see he has alot of followers on twitter. Never heard if the player is he any good? He is quite credible when it comes to Serie A transfers. Of course that doesn't mean you will sign him.
  16. Anderson has 4 Premier League titles, a Champions League and countless other trophies. Stoke should pick him up as well.
  17. Stoichkov is a bitter fool. Sure van Gaal has his problems but I couldn't give a shit about the opinion of someone who racially abuses opponents and then justifies it by saying everyone does it.
  18. They didn't. Congrats, although you might actually only be third.
  19. Nope, just went through every match and there always was one. I believe we also had a really long record of always playing a youth product in a match which we may have broke.
  20. I don't need red glasses. Chelsea have the best full strength but their depth is shite. After Matic and Fabregas they are relying on Mikel and Ramires who are average at best and Oscar flatters to deceive most of the time. Schneiderlin and Carrick are both better DMs than Coquelin and Schwein can play as a no. 6 as well. Ander is as good as Wilshere who is always injured and Ramsey who doesn't even get to play centrally anymore because Coquelin is so limited. Cazorla is great but he just adds to the problem of Arsenal constantly being physically overrun. There depth at DM is also horrible and will have to rely on Flamini or Arteta if Coquelin gets injured or his good form ends. They can play Wilshere there, if he is fit, but again it just adds to their problem of being physically dominated and overrun. At no.10 Ozil is also great but with the added defensive stability that Schneiderlin can add playing alongside Carrick or Schwein and we can play Di Maria or Mata centrally who are as good as Ozil. Very doubtful City will sign Pogba and Yaya is a shadow of his former self and he is relied on to carry their midfield. Fernando is average and very limited and Fernandinho was pretty good in his first season but fell off since then.
  21. Them back would've been them signing Toni Kroos or Cesc Fabregas in recent years, young players fully at their peak for club and country. Seems Van Gaal is doing a Fergie, signing players in the 29-31 age range, maybe win a title and then leave his successor to pick up the pieces. They're still quite a way from winning the title or competing in latter stages of champions league when you compare their squad to others. He's signed one player in the 29-31 range. He has also signed Memphis who is one of the biggest young talents in the world, Darmian who is 25 and Morgan Schneiderlin looks likely too who is also 25. Not to mention none of his signings last summer were 29+ With Carrick, Schwein, Schneiderlin and Ander we'll have probably the best midfield in the league. A backup striker for depth and a CB are all that are needed and one of Ramos or Otamendi, more likely Otamendi are looking likely.
  22. Wants to be Zlatan but is really more Bendtner without as much awesomeness.
