  1. Very please with the teams performance. We've been sloppy on a couple of breakaways but Weimann redeemed himself with that finish. Great work by Benteke. What a player we have on our hands.
  2. The lineup is good for two reasons: - Rewards the players who played well at Sunderland. - It's a positive lineup at home against a team heavily favoured. Yes we may get thrashed as most are expecting but Lambert will learn a lot about his players in a match where any kind of point would be a huge bonus.
  3. Both goals on our central midfield being completely absent or making stupid mistakes. No discipline.
  4. Bannan got a lot better in the last 20 minutes when he stopped trying long balls every single time he got the ball.
  5. Holman has had a poor game. Swap for N'Zog early in the second half.
  6. Great to see how much we're closing down. IEl Ahmadi on a yellow could be risky though...
  7. Passing has been sloppy. But it's pretty even thus far.
  8. I think we'll lose. Newcastle are a really strong side and have had an unchanged team for months where as ours is still in flux. Like others have mentioned, I'd just like to see a solid performance with more attacking intent in the final third. If we came out of this with a clean sheet it would be a great achievement.
  9. Welcome Ashley. I know you always get nice soundbites but I particularly like the quotes from him.
  10. The only thing more depressing than the current scoreline is some of the comments in here. Get behind the team guys.
  11. Guidetti is set to announce a new long term deal with Man City which will be followed by going out on loan says Sky.
  12. So if we can offload Warnock to Blackburn for Olsson, and Hutton to Stoke for Jones (probably with some minimal cash involved in both)... think we'll have made enough of a dent in the wage budget to be able to get in that creative winger/attacking midfielder we need?
  13. Did anything happen regarding Brahimi from Rennes going elsewhere? Last I recall hearing he still wanted to leave the French club.
  14. Works for me. Always seems enthusiastic going forward.
  15. If it turns out to be OGS then I like the move. Whether a Premier League job is too early for him at this stage of his career is a very good point, but I'm glad we're targetting a guy who is young and on the up rather than in decline. Having learnt from one of the most successful managers in the game can't be bad on a CV either.
  16. Now it is the Mirror, but the Sanchez Flores link has been there in the background the past couple of weeks. At the very least the board should sound out his representitive to see if he would be interested because, and I can't emphasise this enough, I would hire him every day of the week over Alex McLeish.
  17. Sounds completely fair and plausible to me.
