7 hours ago, Chindie said:Funnily enough I received a referral confirmation this meeting from a mental health service. Last time that just was a round about way to get me into CBT which didn't do anything, so we'll see what this one achieves.
I've had more thoughts of topping myself this week, more clear/vivid than the usual musings. Things aren't good. I'm thinking about what this life actually is. I can't do much. This week I barely managed to go to the pharmacy which I genuinely could hit with a stone and a decent run up from the end of my drive. I've struggled with going to pick my girlfriend up, a very short drive away, of an evening. And then that's true of everything, so I don't do anything - I've still not got the milk I wanted to get on Tuesday.
And then you extrapolate that out. There's things I'd like to do, I'd like to travel a bit, I'd like to get back to the places we went to when I was younger to see family and so on. I'd like to go to the cinema. I'd like to have the feeling I can just go do these things.
And more fundamentally I'd like to open my horizons to getting a better job, to put more money in my pocket. I can't because of this, I can't realistically expect to get a better job when I can't leave the house.
And that puts paid to everything else. More money is the key to so much, and I'm probably (imo, maybe I'm wrong) a decent candidate for better things in my field.
It's also wasting the time of my girlfriend in so many ways.
And it makes everything else worse because you feel so bad all the time and so frustrated and angry and worn down when you've done nothing because you can't do anything, so your motivation and energy is sapped anyway.
I put a brave face on it but I want to scream until my lungs bleed and smash the entire place to atoms.
Which isn't the best mindplace to sit at your desk and pull apart proposal forms and try to make sales.
I've been working from home a lot over the last 6 months because of a new job.
I've got more money per month than I've ever had, but I'm not feeling any happier.
I feel quite lonely and isolated quite often and it's because I'm not getting out.
I'm putting on loads of weight too, which isn't good for my health.
I go to bed most nights at about 12.30am because I sit up and play playstation.
I struggle to wake up and help my family get to school etc.
I do, do it, but I don't do it well, not least as well as my family deserve from me.
So Wednesday I went for a walk, and ended up out of the house for 2 hours, walking around my estate, in a loop which includes a decent sized hill.. 6 times.
On Thursday, I signed up to Park run, because @Paddywhack was really **** annoying about doing one (turns out, the prick isn't even running, he's "volunteering".. the dickhead), so I'm going to get up and do whatever it takes to run/walk 5km.
Tonight, I went to the gym for the first time and did a program for 2x20 minutes based on Stan Collymores twitter, where you run/walk/run. I think it's interval training.
Nearly killed me, but the buzz as I sit here aching like a dumbass seems like something I want again.
And if I don't do it for me, I'm doing it for my family, because they deserve a better me. I've let myself down physically for a number of years, I've started to let myself down mentally too, and I'm not prepared to let that happen.
We on OT all know your struggles Chindie, I hope you find the spark that ignites your inner fire and you get back to that Emo haired, social person I remember you being from a photo you posted... years ago.
Good luck, I know you'll have an update for us (all) sooner or later.

For as long as I have been on VT you three have been mates. You were kids back then though.
We've been friends since the start of high school, which we finished in 2003, so it is nice I guess!
So what's that, about 25 years?!

I love a good peephole. Never lived anywhere that had one so always have a good look through them when I'm around one.
The place we went on holiday to last summer had one. I can't describe the thrill I felt when looking through it and someone actually walked past completely oblivious to the fact I was looking at them.
Next best thing to a periscope really.
You often see really powerful peepholes on holiday, when visiting the peer, or the coast.
I once paid €2 for a really good peephole overlooking a beach with loads of topless wimmin'.
You often forget what's going on around you when you're peepholing though, and I wondered what the hell was going on when a policeman arrested me.
Especially frustrating because I hadn't quite finished..

I love the fact that @lapal_fan @Rob182 and @Paddywhack are still friends.
No matter how hard I try, they just never, ever **** right off

Haha so stupid. Why would you need glass windows when you already have a peep hole?
They retro fitted the glass at a cost of about £3.5k.
I mean, yea.. they could have just got a new door for £500... A nice one.. but that peephole is real nice like.

Actually, no. I was being mean, but it's still a completely SHITE present.

That’s just reminded me.. at Christmas, I got given an envelope voucher thingy for the Physician in Edgbaston. The idea is you can only open it when the bill comes and that’s when you find out if you’ve got 25%, 50% or 100% off the food bill for up to 6 people.
I thought it was a cool idea and was looking forward to it, but @lapal_fan and @Rob182 said it was a shit idea and they called me a massive c***.
I’m not sure if that last bit was anything to do with the voucher, they might have just meant generally.
I'd like it if literally anyone else in the world had got it, but not you, you massive word removed.

I worry for your sanity if we buy a championship player for £30m at any point.
I wish we'd got Bowen for £20m

I think we all (or mostly agree) that's he can play a bit. I think he has struggled with playing on the left, I think he's also tried too hard when he's had a few chances on the right. I think he's had moments of class, and has been unlucky in those moments. He's scored a pretty vital goal vs Sheff Utd and Mostar (or whatever they were called) and I think he's only now, really starting to settle.
I just think he'll improve and get more comfortable with how we play, he'll become more prominent and he's very different to what we already have, so offers a different option.
£25m for a squad player won't be unusual if we want to be a top club, may as well take a starlet of Italian football for that much.

The game verses Leeds, which he ran, are the things I'm holding on to.
His goal against Man City too.
I'll forget his game verses Stevenage, where he tried about 5 30 yarders and failed miserably on all of them

I wonder if any of the fallen VTers' family/friends come on here, just to read the posts as a sort of.. comfort blanket?
And if any of mine would do the same, or if it would just be left, unread. Because many of us in OT have thousands of posts, which is a pretty personal insight into things. It's almost like we've written our own memoirs in some cases.
I mean, all of my friends and family know I'm an annoying swine, but occasionally I'll drop a banger of a post, where I don't think I've ever been asked those questions/opinions before - like "do I wipe my arse sitting or standing?".
I imagine my children would feel comforted to read I sit.

I desperately wanted that Zaniolo shot to go in. What a worldie that would have been, to go with his debut 35 yard bar shot and the overhead kick he almost got.
So unlucky.

@lapal_fan is the Lapworth Museum of Geology any good?
Yea, it's good, but not massive.
If you're a rock fan, you'll be there for 2 hours.
If you're a country fan, probably less.
It has a big Allosaurus too, so that automatically makes it the coolest place in Birmingham (because it's the only place in Bham to have a dinosaur after Bham Natural History was ruined in the 90s)

We've had more badges than we have trophies.
You've just got to choose one and leave it for 20 years, no one really cares.
Is anyone really losing sleep still that about 20 years ago, Arsenal changed their badge?
I'd rather focus on the football.
You'll never please everyone, so just pick one and get on with it.
What I will say though, is that we've had so many badge changes in the last 15 years, you see about 4 different versions when you go to VP, see us on TV, the BBC - it's stupid we haven't got a proper identity, and that's because we change too often.

Listen, I know you like them, but you really must stop shoving Toblerones up your arse Tony, it's not doing you any good.

What we all probably don't understand is, is that @Paddywhack is a proper vegetable of a man, and he would have used the internet to search for dying celebs.
If you have him a rotten pickled onion, he'd probably accept it.
I don't think I had a go last year, so let's just agree to **** last year's Deadpool off and start fresh

I like Gervais, but his comedy stand-up since Animals (his first) and maybe Politics (when I was young enough not to fully appreciate the nuances of the jokes) has been forgettable.
Office, extras, Derek and afterlife I liked though.
He's better at screenwriting than he is standup, but if someone gave me a cheque for £30m, I'd probably give it a good stab too.
Noone should really be upset about jokes though and he just uses the twitter meta as his framework, which over the last 10 years (in his sphere) has been around the trans stuff.
Who cares? Don't lose sleep over it.

Effing state of that 'team of the season so far' from Carragher and Neville
I thought that.
Neville at least had Luiz in his team of the year, until 6pm tonight...
Both agreed Unai is Manager of the year so far though.

@Rob182 and I have been wanting rid of @Paddywhack for years mate.
As long as you're not a total, useless idiot, you can join our gang, no worries.
And we can't really go on the piss because @Rob182 can't drink more than 3 pints without being sick. He's a real pussy, and not a good one you can stick your fingers in an that. More of a blue waffle pussy, if you get my drift.
Also, we used to sit in the pub playing Pokémon, which I used to hate, but did because they did it.
You'd be better off without us cramping your style tbh.
