there are more than seven billion people in the world but when I'm walking down a country lane in the middle of nowhere on a gray winter day not a soul can see me except for the souls of the birds in th trees maybe

And whilst those bird souls don't really understand, they're still thinking "you dirty, little bastard".

  2. Thought he had a decent game.

You can tell 2 things; He was desperate for his goal and after he scored it, he seems much more relaxed.

First half was mixed, a few times he tried to blast past his man, but overhit the ball and it went out for a goal kick.  Cash is quite slow at picking a ball sometimes (maybe part of the plan) and didn't make many risky forward passes, which meant a few occasions he had Zani and Diaby looking at his with distain

Once he got his goal, he kept things simple and was more metronomic in his passing, which gives us a better rhythm.  And judging from a few performances last night, some of our non-first team players held onto the ball longer than they should have, meaning opponents could get into position quicker and essentially lock us down.

But yea, really glad for him - the next task is scoring the winner from the bench in a Prem game, that's when we'll start to see him fully integrate.

At the moment though, he does have a list of reasons as to why he's not at his best, I just hope we get to see that before the season ends so we can make a proper judgement on him.

So it was Chambers who got done for their goal?

It was a two pronged thing, but Chambers was very slow actually getting out to his man, he was more interested in getting back to the corner of our box.

Dendonker was the player who was way-too-easily cut inside of before the shot happened.

But Chambers could have nullified the attack had he actually showed any desire to close the player with the ball down.

Just looking at prize money - that goal was worth a not insignificant €166,000 to them (and cost us €334,000). But then we also got €650,000 for winning the group (vs €325,000 if we had been runners up). Starts to add up a bit - we’ve banked a few million from the group stage at €500,000 per win and got just under €3,000,000 just for making the group.

    What's our annual wage bill?

I'm assuming if we take out Digne's wages it'll drop from about £1.6 billion to about £100,000 a week?

No, queuing for self service is not good for human interaction, that was my point. We’ve been conned in to queuing for self service to enhance the profits of others. We don’t get the human contact, the staff may no longer be staff. Less jobs, less community.

But plenty of obscene profit for race to the bottom delivery franchises that want to fill the pavements with electric bikes and fill the air with drones.

I’m just not sure we’re heading in the right direction here, it’s all a bit of a mundane dystopia. I’m more of a 15 minute city future, kind of guy.

Those delivery bikes/drones running off electric are surely more environmentally friendly than going to the shop in an average ICE car with 1 or 2 shoppers?

FWIW I don't use delivery services like Deliveroo or anything, although our weekly shop is delivered.  But again, that's more environmentally friendly than me driving to the shop.

  6. We're doing okay in a, actually we're doing pretty **** well way.

A few risks almost got taken advantage of and we seem to not have as much control as we did Wednesday.

Arsenal's press is more effective than city's and we've had a few twitchy bum times.

That said, if we calm a little, play with our backs to the goal and bring others into the game, we'll be ok.

They do look dangerous though and Oodegard should have scored really.

  7. EZ win, probably about 10 nil or summat.

Arsenal have got too big for their boots and they're soft as shite.

The only players I'd have over ours are Saka and Rice, and even that's a close run thing.

Plus they haven't got the big baby on the side of the pitch, bitchin an moaning.

  8. Who needs Rodri when you have Bouba?

Everything he did was class last night.

When he's really focused, he's often the midfielder who holds it all together for us, he's just prone to the odd blip.

    That'll change with age.

  9. Beat Arsenal and it'll be a legitimate time to say "Do you want to bet against us?"

Also, we need to cut out being nice to the likes of Wolves, Forest etc away from home.

Seemingly, the last piece of the puzzle is learning to control the game away from home and not letting the atmosphere get the better of us.  If we overcome that, then we're definitely in with a chance - However!  It's not that easy, obviously.
