  1. Neither is Gabby and lately neither of them have been occupying wide positions which is really hurting us. When we break the only obvious ball is long to Benteke because we don’t have options breaking on the wings. Ideally Lambert will point this out and tell them to take up the wide positions and track the full backs. Alternatively Albrighton should be given a chance. Just curious why would you drop Clark? If we go for Baker or Clark is the same in my opinion. Rate them on the same level tbh
  2. Gabby, Weimann and Benteke doesn't work up front. We seem to be disorganised that way, because Weimann isn't a natural winger. --------------Guzan-------------- Lowton------Vlaar---Baker---Luna -------Sylla--Westwood--KEA(Delph if not suspended) Albrighton----------------------Gabby --------------Benteke------------------------
  3. Stop going with the 4-4-2 formation. We don't have the players to play that formation. Our midtfield will be overrun and dominated
  4. Yes pretty much. It was quite obvious that the plan was to let Saints have the ball and defend in numbers, then try to get the ball forward as quickly as possible. By association this means they would have a lot more possession than us and in turn more shots (albeit from greater range). HH said before the game that we would play that way, we did play that way, and we won. Something not many other clubs have done at St Mary's recently. So all evidence says that the plan worked perfectly. We didn't pass it around much and kicked it long a lot. Football that wasn't especially pleasing to the eye but that was still effective. You seem unable to accept the fact that eye-candy football doesn't equal results, and that the only stat that matters is who gets the points. I think you fail to realise that if the game was played 10 times we would have lost 9 out of 10. People on Vt are so stucked in "results" and fail to see behind the results. The match on Saturday gave us a reality check based on where we are at the moment. But we didn't lose - we won. We were never going to be able to go to St Mary's and outplay them. With that attitude coupled with negative tactics and with a continuing change of formations and tactics, with no stability and no clear philosophy, we're never going to grow as club. Is that what you want?

  6. Inconsistant? Our victories this season is based on luck. Have we even played a good game since April - May ? One decent half against West Brom thats about it. We have been consistantly poor imo. Lambert needs to sort out his tactics. I don't agree with that. It seems like on VT whenever we win we're "lucky" yet whenever we lose we deserved it. Like many teams, we have good games that we lose and bad games that we win. For all people bleat on about "luck" this season I can think of quite a few occasions where we've been unlucky. Not saying we've been unlucky as a whole this season, but quite frankly I think people are looking at things one-sided. We have the worst possession stat in the Premier League, thats just a fact you can't hide away from. So? Doesn't mean we're "lucky" whenever we win. Have you not considered that in some cases (like against Southampton) that was part of the game plan? Look, I'd like us to have more possession as well, but the way the possession stats are talked about on here is getting a little OTT now. So you actually think that the gameplan was to let Soton have the ball 78 % of the time? Was it the plan that Soton had 21 shots overall and we 6? And most important, was it the gameplan that we were going to score 3 out of 3 shots on target, while Soton scored 2 with 9? That game was a robbery and we all know it, of course it was good for us, but on tne other hand a real warning sign.

  9. No chance. Man Utd are pretty avarage at the moment, but that will be enough to beat us, the way we play. Our counter minded, anti possession, naive predictable style of play will be unveiled yet again.
  10. Anyone else noticed we dont creating anything apart from counters and Guzans goalkicks wih the stupid 4-3-3 formation?
  11. Shouldnt underestimate The Cats, will be a tough game. It wont be like last season for sure, maybe a scrappy win. I would probavly go for a draw.
  12. ------------Guzan------------- Bacuna--Vlaar--Baker--Luna ------------Kea---Delph----------- Albrighton----Weimann--Gabby --------------Benteke--------------- Would be nice Thoughts?
  13. Wilfred Zaha really? Do people really think we have the wages to pay for a United player. Another 500 k in the week on the board. I dont think so.
  14. What do you lads think about the norwegian player Mats Moeller Daehlie? Something for us? A creative midtfielder. 18 years old. HAd a really good game against Denmakr last night with an assist. Solskjaer rates him really high. He is predicted to be the new "Christian Eriksen" I think he's just the type of the player we need, young and hungry too. Thoughts?
  15. Well clearly youve paid no attention to this thread or the pre match team news, 3 of your chosen XI are injured. That doesn't mean we have to play a shitty formation.
  16. I can see many of you are pointing out a 4-4-2 formation. This is not the way to go as we will get dominated in the midtfield. It's not like we are in the 90's anymore, we're in a possession based era and we will have to adjust to it. I think with our current squad, the 4-2-3-1 formation is the best suitable, i'd go for something like -------------------Guzan------------------- Bacuna--------Vlaar-----Baker------Luna ---------------Sylla-------Delph--------------- Weimann--------Tonev-------------Gabby ---------------------Benteke--------------------
  17. If i were the manager i would go for the 4-2-3-1 formation. What do you lads think about this? --------------Guzan------------- Bacuna--Vlaar---Baker----Luna ------------Sylla----Delph--------- Weimann---Tonev-------Gabby ---------------The Beast------------ Thoughts?
  18. We are progressing alright... in the wrong direction.
  19. But guys we need to remember "We cannot fault them for their effort!"
