Wasn't the internet then or was very early days (as came out around the time we signed McGrath) and no proper message boards like here so hard to judge! I was 9 and was absolutely thrilled to bits that i went and brought ''Shoot'' magazine that had a cover picture of Paul McGrath & Kent Nielsen on People still spoke to each other in the 80's you know ! Oh, i'm sorry... i really didn't know that!! no need to be sarcastic pal!! i mentioned the net as a wider reaction to signings as can gauge people's reactions very quickly... But yeah, radio phone in's and talking to people regarding the signings..

other side of the coin when Westwood was injured we beat Man City at Villa Park with Sylla having Yaya Toure in his back pocket!! The very next week Sylla was dropped after having a cracking game for Westwood at Hull away, Westwood was awful that game and we drew 0-0... It's no wonder players like Sylla's head dropped when they played well, we won only for likes of himself and Kozak dropped for Gabby & Westwood the following week..

His best loan spell was at Watford i remember it well he was getting rave reviews and banged in 11 or 12 that season!! he did ok at Leicester as well! Wigan was probably the least productive of the 3 and he was ok in patches

Willing to bet Everton or Hull offer more wages than us!! Why don't we go for someone like Jordi Clasie he would cost around the same and less wages and a much better player.

Just crazy when someone like Dusan Tadic leaves to go to Southampton for around £10mil and he can score and assist! then have likes of Cleverley who doesn't score or assist for a million or so less!! Hence why someone like Holtby should be option!! players like Chadli & Salah only cost around £9mil to Spurs and Chelsea and each of these players are far superior than Cleverley

Have Westwood to do Cleverley role though, and to be fair Cleverley doesn't score or assist much even if we played him attacking midfielder. Seems pointless when for 8/9mil could get a quality attacking midfielder around europe for that!!

I agree to an extent. I think with Moyes available they will sack Lambert if our form dips. more likely to go for Pullis if we sacked Lambert (until we taken over then re-evaluate) Outsider for me is John Gregory again same circumstances as above, don't tell them anything hire them and let new owners decide Lambert aint the man

According to the sky sports app a few villa fans had to be restrained by stewards as they went for Lambert. Quite a few boos after the whistle as well! The goal was met with angry reactions from a group of Villa supporters behind the dugouts, a couple of whom had to be restrained by stewards as they vented their frustrations towards Lambert. There were also some calls for the Scot's resignation as he walked down the touchline towards the tunnel after the final whistle.

All they are talking about on Twitter and Redcafe is how they are going to nick Vlaar off us for £10mil or below and it should be very easy to do this as we won't put up a fight and he will want to go!! I hate United and their deluded fans with a passion

Jason Puncheon?? are you being serious? he is awful, absolutely awful!! few good games on back of last season makes people wanna go for a bang below average player lol!! reminds me of Calum McManaman and James McClean (When at Sunderland) few years ago!! average players who excel for a few games then back to being pure crap! I'd only take Yannick Bolasie from Palace!!

Saying in a few online links that Acqafresca is available for as little as £1mil. Would anyone be happy with him for a million?

Italian lad i know who lives in Italy says that Acquafresca is one of the worst strikers in the Serie A he has seen. Obviously in Serie B. now!!
