Have now finished my 4th season with Villa. This is how I did: Prem: 3rd. Too many young players and a not so good defence cost me the title. Scored most by a mile. CL: Won it. Beat Bayern 4-0 in final. Also beat Barcelona on the way (winning 3-0 in Camp Nou). FA: Won it. Arsenal in final. Also beat Small Heath 5-0 in Quarters. CC: Lost in Quarters to Spurs. Didn't care. Was an excuse to play youngsters. Transfers at start of season were: IN - I.Munian (Pre-Contract), T.Taiwo (Pre-Contract), tonnes of good regens for a combined £40m. A few of which went straight into first team. OUT - J.Collins (£2m), V.D.Wiel (£4.2m), S.Warnock (£2m), Delfouneso (Ln Fee), Wiemann (Ln Fee), S.Lowry (£1.9m), Agbonlahor (Ln Fee), Bale (Ln Fee), C.Adam (Free), R.Mavuba (£5.25m). Lots of youngsters/regens out on loan. S.Ireland (£5m in Jan). Had to get rid of all those first teamer's on loan fee's because nobody would buy them. Highlights of the season included winning the double of course. And that win at Camp Nou, where I battered them. Some mega wins in league too i.e. 8-1 v Wigan, 6-0 v Forest/Portsmouth, 5-0 v Burnley/Fulham/Stoke. Standout performers of the year were: Shawcross again, A.Young, a regen striker. Now I will win the Club World Championship and done everything I wanted to with Villa. Will decide whether to continue this game or start another at end of next season.

Since my last update I've finished my 3rd season with Villa. This is how I did: Prem: 1st. CL: Lost on away goals to L'pool in Semi-Finals. FA: Won it. Pens in final vs Sunderland. CC: Lost in 3rd Rd to Newcy. Transfers at start of season were: IN - Dzeko (22m), Bale (19.5m), Bruno (Free), Sakho (Free), Biglia (Free), A few young regens. OUT - Dunne (900k), Cuellar (1.6m), Diarra (1.8m), Petrov (Free), Youngsters out on frees, Youngsters out on loan. Highlights of the season included going unbeaten in league from start of start of season until end of March. Also sending Small Heath down on last day. They were playing Blackpool & I had Bristol City. Small Heath needed a win with a Bristol loss. Seeing as I had already won the league I threw the game, Small Heath won but still went down. Standout performers of the year were: Dzeko, Downing & Shawcross.

Just played a game where I had ELEVEN!! clear cut chances. I didn't score a single one of them. Luckily I won 1-0 anyway but that is just ridiculous. Fonz missed about 6 of them, Albrighton 3, Ireland 1 & Clark 1.

Data only. In that case then...nothing. I'm still playing my game from the demo. Only one I've started. I'm a bit slow considering that only into November of 3rd season. Although someone mentioned Bale a few posts back.....Downing is absolutely smashing it compared to Bale. I rotate them, in a AML position. Bale's pretty bad tbh, although his stats are probably about right or maybe improved just a tad here and there. Don't know why I'm saying this though, you're the Villa guy and we don't want Spurs players being even MORE overrated.

Good shout. Never bought him myself but I know a few people have had success with him and he does well on my games.

I'm guessing you're in your first season? In mine, as Villa, I brought in Khouma Babacar on loan. Decent enough as 3rd choice behind Gabby & Fonz. I only play one up top though. Although if you do sign him on loan try and get him with a future price because he turns out amazing in a couple of years. I didn't but now he is smashing it for Benfica.

What can you do then?

Andy, Don't know if this is anything I can do or you can do for the patch but....before the patch I had corners set up so my central midfielder would take and would play it short to my winger who would then cross it in the box. Since the patch the midfielder just boots it in the box himself, which wastes the corner.

I don't know what Liverpool's youth facilities are like but they are banging out a load of top notch regens.

Oh right...Well in that case, when his loan is about to expire (usually around 3 days before) a news message will come up saying "his loan is about to expire" then at bottom should be an option to extend it. As long as you are in a valid transfer window and can extend it.

If the club wants him back they will ask to extend it. Did you loan him out to an affiliate or did a club come asking for him on loan?

To be fair I use FMRTE to find good coaches. That's all I use it for though. Don't understand the people who use that & Genie Scout to find out the best players, complete waste of time playing the game, because you know you'll win. No achievment in that. ---- Anyway on with my season. Into the 3rd now. Transfers IN - Dzeko (22m), Bale (19.5m), Bruno (Free), Sakho (Free), Biglia (Free), A few young regens. Downing has 9 assists, 4 goal in 12 games with Ave. Rat. of 7.65. Agbonlahor is smashing it this season too, so Dzeko is second choice atm. So turns out both big money signings aren't actually playing. Just into November. Sitting 3rd, 2pts off top. Had tough start of L'Pool (a), B.Rovers (a), Arsenal (h), Man C (h), Sunderland (a). Got 5 pts from that. Since then won every game in league though including 7-1 thrashing of Blackpool and beating Small Heath 3-1 Out of Carling Cup but did throw it away really playing youngsters. CL Group is Porto, Roma, Odd (Danish team). 2nd after 3 games. Gabby & DJ are best players in league atm according to Ave. Rat. Downing has most assists too. Gabby got most goals (10 in 8).

I've found when I've bought players for lots of money the value of my club rockets. I think it's stuff like value of players, value of facilities, current finances. Stuff like that.

Pretty much same as me. Funny thing is I was 5 up at HT, didn't do anything in second half.

Transfers at start of season were: IN - C.Adam (1.5m), R.Mavuba (3.9m), S.Giovinco (Loan), R.Shawcross (5m), J.Angel (6.5m), G.Ochoa (7.25m). OUT - L.Young, B.Guzan, S.Sidwell, J.Hogg, B.Bannan & other youngsters all left on frees. H.Beye (550k), A.Diarra (Loan fee), E.Heskey (550k), S.Petrov (Loan fee), R.Dunne (Loan fee). Lots of youngsters out on loan too. Had to get rid of people like Dunne on loan because nobody would buy them and needed to shift off wage bill. Highlights of the season included going unbeaten from start of Feb 'till end of season. During which time I beat Small Heath 5-0. Also with 3 games to go, the title was still open between L'pool, Man U & I. I went to Liverpool and won 2-0. Then went to Old Trafford and drew which meant a win at home to Bolton on last day would win the title. Won 3-0. Standout performers of the year were: Curtis Davies & Ryan Shawcross at the back who conceded the least goals in the League. They were 2 of the 3 players with best Ave. Rating at end of season. Shawcross was best. Downing weighed in with a tonne of assists. Delfouneso banged them home.

Watched these today: (1) Inception (2) The Social Network (3) 4.3.2.1 (4) The Expendables. That's the order I'd rate them in too, with Inception best obviously.

I thought I read somewhere that Abby was coming back at the end of this series. Obviously not. Does anybody know if there are plans for a 4th series now?

I play Albrighton regularly, in fact I'd probably call him my choice MR now. Doing well too.

I am really pissed off now. As I finished 4th I obviously go into play-offs for CL. But because Villa are shit we were unseeded. I draw Atletico Madrid. The team I faced in the Europa League last season and lost twice to. Lost both legs 2-1. Now into Europa League. Gutted. Just played my first Europa League game, away to Marseille. Got hammered 5-0.

Well it was about £5 million. Shhhhh.... In the end it didn't matter. Just finished my dealings for the summer. IN: Charlie Adam (£1.5m), Rio Mavuba (£3.9m), Seb Giovinco (Loan fee £300k), Beckford (Ln fee £65k), Ryan Shawcross (£5m), José Angel (£6.5m), Guillermo Ochoa (£7.25m) OUT: Luke Young, Steve Sidwell, Brad Guzan, Barry Bannan, Lots other youngsters (All on frees), Habib Beye (£550k), Alou Diarra (£350k loan), Emile Heskey (£550k), Pienaar (£1m), Petrov (Loan fee £100k), Richard Dunne (Loan fee £120k). So by getting rid of all those players I got all their high wages off the banksheet which enabled me to transfer wages into transfer funds and buy some players. In the end I just about managed to pay for Ochoa by about 100k. Now am broke. Club is £10 million in debt. Will be ok if I can stay in CL though. Biggest disappointment was Pienaar. Bought from Everton for £15m last summer. Had good first couple months. Been shit ever since. On fairly high wages so just cut my losses and got rid. Brought in Giovinco on loan to replace him. Also managed to cut Friedel's wages significantly. Let his contract run right down. Week before ran out offered a new one year deal. Will be back up and let go next summer. Have also promoted Lichaj as backup right-back. Only bought Beckford as 3rd choice in case Gabby or Fonz get injured. Otherwise won't play. Had a decent record at Everton, played 5 last season & scored 4. Good looking squad now.
