Melody, every time. There are loads of songs where I know the melody, and love it - yet have no idea what is being sang!

Tonight was not pretty at all. We were so far adrift as to what Chelsea had to offer tonight that it was frightening. Agree with the sentiments of the original post - tonight, certain players were well and truly found out.

And such a great waste of electricity, with all this talk of carbon emissions and all that we wouldn't be setting the best example! I love Bicks' idea of the AV floodlights back though, it was something I considered posting myself, we might struggle with planning permission and I'm not sure how it would work with the new stands (I assume they were free standing before but I've only ever seen photos) but if it was possible its a great idea. I'm not talking about lighting it full time each and every night. It wouldnt take much to light the 3 stands when the resteraunt is open in the evenings - plus, The General has already said its a good idea, so there!!!

this is the kind of simple things that make the experience of supporting a club so good. It is the simple things like this that make the experience so good and makes the club one that people want to feel part of it. I read that and yet again had to pinch myself at who we now have in charge. This demonstrates a thorough understanding of the Football Club. It is simply fantastic to see.

Corner Flag Resteraunt. General, I enjoyed a meal at Villa's resteraunt on Saturday, the staff were excellent, the service superb - and the food was delicious. The only thing that perhaps let the experience down was that nobody in the resteraunt could see the stadium / pitch as it wasn't lit up in any way. The strapline for the resteraunt is 'A unique outlook' and I think its an opportunity missed to not have the stadium / pitch lit up in some way. It would make a dramatic back-drop for those eating in the evening, and it seems such a waste of a great USP. Cheers Digsby

Really? I wouldn't be suprised as I rate him very highly - I think he is about as good as it gets in his position. I'm not sure I would have him down as a future Madrid player though? Doesn't seem their type

There is no way in this world that Heinze is going to be happy playing second fiddle to Evra. Fergie bought Evra whilst Heinze was injured for a season - the people I know close to that football club feel that Evra will now be first choice. Heinze has already been linked with loan moves away from OT, and even had to deny reports of moving on in the summer. It could happen! Believe!!!

Apprantly Fergie is turning / has turned to Evra - I don't know how much truth is in this, and whether it has anything to do with the injury Heinze sustained last year, but people up there think his time is nearly up.

Can we start suggesting a move for Gabriel Heinze please? I would love to see him at Villa and think he may be surplus at Man.U now, he was linked with a loan move back to PSG earlier this week. Come on, lets make him feel wanted at VP!

It's not an exact science, comparing one season to the next - but i think it is fair to say that certain players were not playing for the manager last season - hence the poor stats. When the core of the team we currently have, have applied themselves sufficiently we have been no lower than 10th.

Welcome General. What an incredible gesture you have made by posting on VT. I can hardly believe the changes that have taken place over the last few months - I would like to thank Randy and yourself for ensuring that this transition period has resulted in all Villains regaining hope and belief. You seem genuine people who not only share our love of the Football Club, but have a pretty good idea as to how to have a go at bringing the good times back to VP. That 'winning mentality' and quest for being the best is sadly something that has been lacking at VP for several decades - I sense that you and Randy strive towards this in all you do. Once again, many thanks - I am still pinching myself at you guys being in charge - Up The Villa!!!!

We need to look at other areas before buying a centre back. As far as I can see it, we need a centre forward, an out and out winger, preferably right sided, a right back and cover/competition for McCann. ....and that TT just demonstrates the progress Liam Ridgewell has made this season. Last year Liam was a liability, and with Laursen then considered a write off we were desperate for a new CB. Yes, Laursen is back - but Liam is keeping him at bay, meaning that we are now suitablly covered. Liam has impressed the hell out of me this season - hardly put a foot wrong.

A good article, and well timed too. I think things have changed so fast that many of us are guilty of forgetting just where we were a few months ago. We really have been on an incredible journey - and it going by last night it shows no signs of abating.
