  1. Yeah - they are in Birmingham on the 3rd December, tickets going on sale this Friday - I will definately be there! I can't wait to listen to the new album
  2. It may have escaped your notice, but: 1) Bent has been mentioned many times in this transfer speculation thread as a possible Villa target 2) Defoe has been mentioned many times in this thread as a possible Villa target 3) Defoe's departure from Spurs may, for all I know, hinge on Bent's arrival 4) I responded to a post by a Villa fan about Bent For all these reasons, what I've said is not 'none Villa ... shite' and so is probably (I'm guessing) of interest to at least some of the posters on this thread - yourself obviously not included. Oh God, not you, talking about Spurs, again!!!

    The Twang

Some clever marketing guy has probably thought that up - as originally they played and recorded in and around Brum under the name Neon Twang.
  4. Sorry, but there were two words I didn't think I would ever seen mentioned in connection with the new 'Bright Future' Villa - and they come as no suprise as being; Titus and Bramble. It is not even funny.
  5. Hopefully we are on the way to the 'next level' - but not all our aquisitions can be of that status. Some are going to have to be solid signings. Taylor is better than we have at the club already in that he is an established Premiership midfielder. When the going gets tough you need players like that to keep there heads. I think it would be a great signing.
  6. I think we may well get 1 or 2 huge signings, complimented by 2 or 3 solid signings - which is what I think Taylor would represent. There will be stiff competition for him though, as the above article posted by Richard states. But with a bit of luck this is where our ambition, manager, and new training ground can outdo our competitors.
  7. He scored 9 goals last season. Him, Barry and Young would represent an 'alternative' England midfield IMO.
  8. Taylor would be an excellent signing. I really hope there is some truth to those rumours.
  9. Defo, I was thinking the exact same thing. That would be a great signing. I find it hard to believe that they are contemplating blocking his ascent to the Man.Utd first team - he looks a certain star to me
  10. Haha!! Very true! ......and Kieran Richardson!!
  11. one that actually played for us or do you mean Juniniho? Add Gilberto (of arsenal) also. 250k i believe was the extra bit of money we couldn't put together for him!  .......and Roberto Carlos, was he not on the brink of signing as a youngster?
  12. Totally wrong IMHO. The guy is class. And his Premiership winners medal goes some way to suggesting to me that he might be an improvement on what we have!
  13. Heinze is class, undisputed class. Bouma had a good season, but is it a permanent? I imagine thats what MON might be thinking, if there is any truth to these links.
  14. Fabiano!! What a great name! However, if were to sign Heinze I would be over the proverbial moon. He is class and is a winner, one of the best defenders in the world for me. Can't see it happening, but if it does............wowza's!
  15. Just got an Xbox - with PES6 - if anyone is up for a game then my tag is: Gtops
  16. If you don't want to bother yourself with transfer rumours, speculation and suggestions then may I suggest that you avoid any threads with Transfer Rumours, Speculation & Suggestions in the title!!
  17. Without doubt Ian, without doubt. The thing is with Spurs in particular, they are just another club in London, who live in the shadow of their neighbours, quite an awful situation to be honest. There will always be at least 2 teams from London better than them. We are the undisputed dominant force, not only in the Country's second City, but the Midlands region. When this ride that Randy has got us on hits its peak we will be supernova, I have no doubts. None at all. This, I believe, has a lot of people worried. Almost any of the big 4 would give for our location, dominance of a region and potential fan-base. Awaken the sleeping giant that is Aston Villa and a lot of things will change in this league. No doubts.
  18. Before I go, did I tell you about the HUGE signing that Spurs are ..... oh, never mind :winkold: You still don't quite get it do you!!?
  19. I think there is always room for a 'stop-gap' - just look at Man.Utd's use of Henrik Larrson for those 3 months. I wouldn't discount stop-gaps entirely, but hopefully we won't have to rely on them anymore.
  20. I agree with this - Defoe is a very good striker. Bent is not better, just different in style and with a different mix of abilities. The reason Spurs want him is because he'll able to play effectively with either Berbatov or Keane, whereas a Keane/Defoe partnership doesn't work that well, so when Berby is injured we're a bit stuffed. If Villa bid for Defoe and he signs for you (no real idea how likely that is) I reckon Villa fans - including the doubters - would end up being well pleased with the goal-scoring results. If you want to come on here at talk about Villa then fair play, but every time I read this thread there is more and more written about Spurs players and who Spurs are signing. I get the feeling that if you didn't feel superior in your clubs ability to sign certain players then you wouldnt be posting on here at all - and its becoming a little irksome. That is all
