  1. Heath but its more quiet than a funeral, against Citeh that bought Barry AND Milner...
  2. And Young is there complaining, whata word removed!
  3. As a club we could step in and say no we need him here as we thin on numbers etc.. though McLeish will let him go anyway. One of the reasons for Zog going to Villa (except more money) is that he thinks this will get more opportunities to play for France. The worst thing we could do is stop him.
  4. Agree with that 100 %. Personally I haven't got time to search twitter and all other sources of info all time. So i'm happy to browse toVillatalk for the latest info. Thanks to people like Julie I can get the latest gossip true or not. What I cant stand is the moaners that through this topic has posted the same anti board post (maybe phrased a little different each time) about ten times each. Without those posts repeating themselves all the time this thread would be longer than about 90 pages
  5. If he wants to play Champions League he should go abroad and play for Romanian team FC Oţelul Galaţi as they already are qualified for the group stages? No I didn't think so
  6. doesnt look it to me But it's so easy to do it... the scarf could also be shopped
  7. I don't want AM as manager by any means, mainly because there has to be other candidates that would be better for the club at this moment. I don't mind that he has managed Small Heath, but because there is a lot of fans who do, AM and the board will have extremely small margin for errors. Say that we appoint AM and then sell both Young and Downing, fans will start complaining and saying it's because the club shows no ambition in appointing AM and therefore all are players that are any good will leave. That will be what fans say even if the players desire to leave has nothing do with the appointment of AM. But at the same I think fans have been overacting enormously. And on this board fans are writing insults that are not worthy of a fan of AVFC. It’s so easy to write these things hiding behind an alias, and when you don’t have to say it straight to Lerner or Faulkner’s face. I will support AM if appointed BUT I hope they could consider someone else. The whole “Premier League experience” thing it’s important but not crucial for success. If we can attract a manager such as Quique Sanchez Florez, I think PL experience is not critical for him being able to take this club forward or not, especially not if his number two has that experience. As mentioned before in this thread, Wenger, Ancelotti, Mourhino and so on did not have did ok didn’t they?
  8. IF the rumours about Hughes being discredited due to Lerner's relationship with Al Fayed are true, then I completely agree. FFS Lerner, Hughes, Rafa & Rijkard would all take the job if they were offered the right terms, all out of work, and all gettable. Yet you've gone and picked the scab from the mangled foot of our nearest rivals. This is what's really winding me up, I'd have signed Jol in a heartbeat over any of the managers we've had linked to us. What a piss take of a club we're turning out to be. The same Jol that bottled it at Ajax this season, complaining that expectations were too high? That team went from 4th place to win the eredivisie (Dutch league) with Frank de Boer. No thank don’t want a quitter with no balls!
  9. Don't agree, he purchased two flair players in Hleb and Bentley and guess what never used them to their strengths, his style is one way. he will **** up Downing and the progress of Albrighton will stagnate just you watch. Two players who more or less had not played a competitive game for ages. Hleb is definitely not the same player he was in Arsenal .
  10. Eames, Get with the program. Sound reasoning, logic and patience are out the window this week. Just fall in line, call everyone a word removed and save your intelligent posts for the "Off Topic" forum FWIW, I agree entirely with what you posted. Or, I should I say... ^^THIS^^ +1
  11. Kind of hope it's going to be AM now, not my first choice by any means, but a hell of a lot better than many other names dropped on this thread. I've been on this forum for about 5 years (following Villa for almost 30 years), mostly reading to get other people’s views of what’s happening in and around Villa. But I have never seen so much whining and complaining in all these years. I would have understood that if it was the other way around – the Small Heath signing our manager after resigning unexpectedly. It’s almost like a competition about who can come with the worst complaints or the worst insults to the board, AM, other people at the forum and journalists (although journalists are fair game) I believe that if AM is appointed he will get a quite hefty transfer kitty, to compensate for the fans discontent. And I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we sign a real quality player shortly to take focus away from the AM appointment. We could do a lot worse; we could have been supporting the Blue Nose Bastards. And if we Bent wouldn’t have been signed in January it would probably be us in the Championship and not the SHA.
  12. They did with Martinez to cover there arses. I agree with the principle, but i think this has gone beyond that. The accusations from them lot are starting to hurt the club. They only released that statement because Whelan went public with it in the first place, when David Whelan made his PR stunt getting Wigan huge amount of positive PR. Whelan played it very well, he knew that he should have kept his mouth shut, but by telling everybody how we were approaching Martinez the honourable way through him, he made it extremely clear that if you approach my manager you will suffer the consequences.
  13. Redman I wouldn't mind Rafa Benitez at all. It's sad to see so many people that still haven't forgot the Rafa-Barry-MON saga. I was also pretty upset and called him prick and so on, but that was just because i tried to buy our player and not paying what he was worth. But then again would love him to the same thing for us. As you say better have him inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in.
  14. Actually, it does - there are laws about it. If she's good enough - and it would appear she's a pretty decent linesman - then I see absolutely no reason why she shouldn't do it, and indeed I think it should be encouraged. The game needs the best officials it can get - no matter what they look like. Couldn't agree more! Who gives a shit if it is a women or a funking monkey as long as they get it right. Everybody should get the same chance otherwise it's discrimination, so why should it be different in football?
  15. Asked myself the same question... looked like half the team were running on ice.

  17. Friedel - MOTM 8 Makoun - Very good 8 Really disapointed with the first goal (Dreadful defending by Collins and Dunne looked more like pub league players).
  18. Downing doesn't have a clue tonight. Slow on the ball all time, not capable of making the right decision fast enough.
  19. I agree with most of what you're saying Gaz and remebmer how long it took Stan to settle and I think he has been a great servant to the club. Before I give my final judgement I would like to give hllim a fu pre season and match fitness. And I think all supporters should give him chance if he comes back this summer and wants to fight for as spot in team. And it wouldn't hurt if then gave some kind of statment to the press about how much he wants to be in this great club (and of course meen it). Sorry guys if my english isn't perfect, I hope you all understand what I am trying to say
