The problem is with these sort of managers is, can they make the step up a couple of levels to push on a top side? Yeah with a bottom tier premierleague team like blues he is good but how would he be managing a truely mid table side, then what about a top 6/8 club?

And as an earlier poster said, had Villa signed him VT would be exploding with delight right now. Are you even aware of VdV's track record as a player? Lampard is rightly considered to be prolific goal-scorer for a midfielder, with a career total of scoring in 29% of appearances: VdV's equivalent percentage is 37%. I said VdV is arguably world-class and I stand absolutely by that. Your ignorance is breath-taking. Big Sam or bruce appear to be far better than any of the realistic "free agents". Hughes or Woy would have been much better though

The same thing crops up every year with gamers fed up because they have a measly £3million to spend. Its like an echo

(i dunno) Andy takes into account what a manager spends in the summer so you dont end up with all villa's new players and a massive transfer budget.
