  1. Playing on a PvE server is for girls. Oh.
  2. Nope, if you were on Tarren Mill, we'd all hunt you down, gut you like a fish, then camp you for a good hour or so. And enjoy doing it!
  3. Oh Lord. Cue epic conversation - wish someone had screenied it..... One of my top hilarious Wow moments. The list in full: 1) Tarj getting one shotted by the ally flightmaster in Stonetalon after me, him and Dan attacked it when we were level 20s. 2) Me and Si diving off a mountain in the Barrens as a quick way down to the river below. Needless to say we died. 3) "Erm lads, I don't think I picked the carrot up. Where's my carrot? Can we go back so I can pick the carrot up? Oh bloody hell, all that and I didn't get the carrot!" 4) Snowballing people out of the Alterac Valley portal so they got the deserter's debuff for 15 minutes 5) Ghost wolfing in the dwarf starting area, so the L1 noobs attacked me and got flagged for PvP. 6) Nayson summoning Dan and drowning him.
  4. I think Zul Farak was my all time favourite instance. I liked the fact that it was all outside, and you could use your mount. The view from the top of the stairs at the altar was pretty cool too.
  5. I'm afraid I think it'll be zero. I'd say Milner probably has the best chance, but then I think he'll only slot in if the first choice player is injured. He seems to be "Mr Utility" for England. I think Warnock needed to have got some playing time yesterday to have any chance at all. I don't think Heskey will start, whether he's a Villa player or not. I can't see him playing enough before now and then to nail down a spot, even though he did quite well in qualifying.
  6. Good idea Gizmo. I still have that video somewhere, and would love to have it on DVD. Minus the annoying adverts for Coke all the way through though.
  7. I didn't do an awful lot there tbh, other than the famed "Quest of Free XP" and obviously running backwards and forwards to that sodding island off the coast for Molten Core rep.
  8. Umbongo was fecking ace. Loved the whole Jurassic Park feel to it. I remember when I was still in the exploring phase, trying to find the way out of Ungoro to Silithus whilst not agroing every sodding dinosaur in sight. Most difficult! I think part of the reason I like Winterspring so much was that it was the first area that most of the VTers did when we were around the same level. Nays, Sie and Si were always about twenty levels ahead of me, Tarj and Dan while we levelled up, so when we got there we did a lot of stuff together.
  9. I really liked Ungoro, there were lots of decent quests, and it felt very different to everywhere else in WoW. I remember the first time I got attacked by the elite T-Rex, I nearly shat myself! I also really enjoyed Winterspring, as I liked the look and the music of the area. I'd defnitely head there before Outland.
  10. I think it would work well. Petrov has the ability to be a good attacking midfielder, it's just that when he plays next to Sidwell, he (Petrov) has to do all the donkey work, while Sidwell isn't doing much.
  11. Depends what you mean by worse. I'd argue that Heskey is O'Neill's worst signing easily. The likes of Salifou and Routledge didn't work out, but they didn't ever play. Heskey in my opinion, has had such a negative effect on our style of play and results, that he has to be considered the worst purchase.
  12. An excellent game, that showed just what we're capable of when we pass the ball around and have the odd shot at goal! Carew was back to his best, and we didn't seem to miss Collins too much which was reassuring. Warnock had another great game, and Reo-Coker did his job very well. All in all a great performance and a result to match, made even more sweeter by the fact that the wife is a Bolton fan!
  13. bugger. you beat me too it by a whisker. there's no way on this earth i would want Hodgson here at Villa ahead of MON. Coveniently glossing over the fact that he took them to 6th the season before and UEFA Cup qualification. Not to mention the fact that they'd lost most of the decent players they had in the "rich kid" years such as Shearer, Hendry, Le Saux, Sherwood and Berg.
  14. That's probably just as impressive as winning a two horce race in the Scottish league to be honest.
  15. Got Switzerland to the European Championships and World Cup finals, and has manged Inter. Did superbly with Fulham last season.
  16. That "something special" is just his quirky media personality isn't it? Which to me, is about as much use when it comes to running a football club as tits on a bull.
  17. I don't agree with much of that. The football now is atrocious, and was actually far better at the end of 07/08. Sidwell is now a fixture in midfield, and he isn't a patch on Gareth Barry. Emile Heskey. Emile flaming Heskey. Well I don't think the football is atrocious and Sidwell is backup for the currently injured Downing. Heskey and Sidwell would have walked into the Villa team when MON first arrived - now they're on the bench. In my opnion the squad is better this season than last season. Last season's was better than the one before and so on... That's a huge assumption that Sidwell is back up for Downing. He hasn't kicked a ball in anger yet, so we just don't know what O'Neill has got in store for him. Heskey wouldn't have walked into the team when MON first arrived either. However slow and past it Angel was at that stage, he was still better than the lumbering atrocity that is Emile Heskey. Sidwell's a regular starter now by the way, so not sure what you mean by "on the bench".
  18. I don't agree with much of that. The football now is atrocious, and was actually far better at the end of 07/08. Sidwell is now a fixture in midfield, and he isn't a patch on Gareth Barry. Emile Heskey. Emile flaming Heskey.
  19. Well I've said I'll see where we are at the end of the season. Four years should be a good indication of whether he can improve or not. Although I'm guessing that a manager who thinks that Emile Hesley starting on the wing is a good thing has probably already peaked in truth.
  20. I think that thinking is a hang up from Ellis days to be honest, when after 3-4 years, managers would normally get tired of working with him, and he'd stop funding them. Lerner is a totally different kettle of fish, He's shown no sign in reducing his financial commitment to Villa, yet I have to say that I don't think O'Neill is providing value for his money. If we continue in this mediocre vein, you have to say how on earth is O'Neill going to provide the impetus to get us into the top 4? He either can't or won't bring top players in, and that won't change with another 6th/7th placed finish if we're miles behind the top 4. We'd be better in that situation looking for a new manager who just may have the ideas to take us on that extra step. It's always a risk of course, but Lerner is no Mike Ashley, and I can't ever see him making a hash of things.
  21. You have to give a manager a reasonable amount of time and resources to prove he can build a team and get it to compete with the best. I think O'Neill's had the money, and at the end of this season will have had four full years. If he has improved us at the end of the season and at least given the top 4 and the cup competitions a real go, then I'd say he's earned the right to carry on. If on the other hand, the sort of football that we played tonight, and against Everton, Blackburn, Wolves and Wigan becomes the norm, and we finish 7th or lower, then I really do think it will be time to thank him for rescuing us from the mess O'Leary left, but to give somebody else a shot at bringing back the glory years.
  22. I don't really get this. I mean man u, chelsea, arsenal and liverpool have had poor results this season and they've spent more than we could dream of over the years and have very experienced managers. We should expect certain improvements but no team wins all the games the fans think they should. The teams you mention win more of those games than we do though. We're just not improving under O'Neill. Hopefully the penny is starting to drop that dull, uninspired football and 6th/7th place is all O'Neill is ever going to be capable of.
