I agree with you paul but I wouldn't be hopeful. I think they should do what 'pool used to do and change 1 jersey per year alternating the home & away. That way every jersey lasts 2 years but you still get a new one each season.

  3. If that's true then I feel for Everton cuz I like them. But it also means we potentially don't get our windfall :?

I assume they are a good seller amongst Bradford City fans to taunt Leeds with? Otherwise I'm stumped.
  7. Not only does he not need to justify himself; the nature of the transfer market is that it IS an ever-changing animal. As MM mentons wrt Distin, things CAN be fact one day and not the next. People ignore, or don't realise, this when making accusations. Though it does make spotting the bullshitters that bit harder because they too can just say "well the facts changed, I was right at the time".
  8. Wasn't Raul bullying or intimidating Benzema too? Raul is king of that castle and if he doesn't take to you he can make your life very difficult.

The goal was scored illegally. And it denied Louth their first Leinster title in 50 years. Done by a county that regularly win the Leinster title. So it was big bad Meath cheating plucky little Louth in a final. And the GAA (much like FIFA funnily enough) don't have a facility in their rules to deal with it satisfactorily, so it was left up to Meath to volunteer a replay when they were perfectly entitled not to and shouldn't be put in that position by the governing body in the first place.
  11. Benzema is technically better but the simple and unarguable fact of Higuain is that he knows where the goal is; and consistently puts the ball in it.

  13. Unfair. I'm a big fan of Higuain and I think he is criminally under-rated - though that is now resolving itself. But Benzema is a top striker IMV too. His season at Réal was a disaster but I believe there were extenuating circumstances. I think those 2 have very similar attributes and similar ability. For his pitch time Karim scored a decent amount of goals. I think Benzema may have to leave Réal purely because he is too similar to the in-form Higuain but there's absolutely no way he is a 'Huntelaar'. I think this is a case of 'what have you done for me lately'. He will be back with a bang and you'll wonder why you ever questioned him. United should move heaven & earth to get him while his stock is so low. Or 'plop should try and get him with any future Torres money. I don't think the term 'world class' is hyperbole for Benzema. He just needs to show it again in the right environment.

The incident is worthy of it's own thread. Was a thread created for this? Delighted the lads didn't give them a replay. Would have set a bad precedent. C'mon the Royals! At the risk of being objective again (it is a heavy burden). There is no way Meath should be forced to do the 'right thing'. They should not be backed into a corner and made to make a decision that should only be made by the association. This was a GAA and an officiating **** up. Meath are the easy scapegoats here and now that they have not agreed to a replay they are being made out to be the bad guys. It's incredible. It's identical to the France furore. Yes the player cheated, but the problem was with the officials and the association - firstly for not seeing the infringement and secondly for actually not having any rule in place that allows the GAA to act in any kind of authority. But having said that. It's bog ball and is about as important as the shade of green on what I pull from my nose.

A friend of mine from up there goes away at this time of year. And I believe he was brought up eating oranges as it were. Good people are good people. Religion is shit the world over.
  16. Unfortunately with player power and the already-established power of money, that will never happen. A player can say "I only want to go to City" if he knows they want him, and the club's hands are tied.

In hindsight I shouldn't have. He basically said it was so that he could tell his boss that he had called ("look see boss there's a signature") - and at this point I just wanted him away from the door (the previous provider's electricity bill is actually in the wife's name so EVEN IF I had wanted to switch, I wouldn't have been able to). Obviously they managed to do it though. But I was asked to sign it under false pretences and someone out there will take a dim view of that.

Well there ya go I actually laughed when I realised what they'd done because I'm looking forward to telling them they are con artists tomorrow and that they've lost me as a gas customer over this cheap trick. Provided it's not overly difficult to do, I'll probably report them to whatever regulator deals with this kind of thing too.

I got a visit from an electricity supplier the other week asking if I was interested in switching over. I said in my most apathetic way possible that I really wasn't (it was the evening and I can be very disinterested when I (don't) want to be). He took an MPRN number from me (some unique electrickery number) and I proceeded to sign something which he said showed he had visited. I have now received a letter from this company welcoming me to their service. And a letter from my old provider with a final invoice. The con artist at the door only went and pulled the wool over my eyes So tomorrow, I will not only be telling them to transfer the electricity back to where it was coming from before, but that I will now also be swapping my gas away from them too. Something that, until today, I had no reason to bother doing. So that salesman has lost his company a customer. I hope his fraud gets him fired.
  22. Downing spent all of last season playing catch up. I'm looking forward to seeing him after a proper pre-season and hitting the ground running with the rest of them. I've always held the opinion that he was originally brought in to replace Barry but that Milner changed that. It may yet happen. One thing that surprised me most about him last season was his turn of pace. He doesn't look like a particularly quick footballer but when he guns it he can really leave people for dead. Which is strange for a winger known for crossing before beating his man. On paper he has all the attributes to be a devastating winger.
