  1. Oh no, the vibe police are here. I surrender, officer. Do two positive energy posts count as a negative? Do a - and + cancel themselves?
  2. I love markets! I love that feeling of getting lost in discoveries. The main fish market in Dar Es Salaam in Kivokoni blew me away when I visited 25 years ago. But there are so many great outdoor markets in the world. Which would you recommend?
  3. And don't forget, they have Billy the Badger.
  4. The problem with trying to be diplomatic in post-matches is that it sometimes comes across as a cheap shot, and yet, a well-disguised cheap shot can also seem like a sort of backhanded compliment. Damned if you do ... That's why I just prefer bluntness.
  5. Come on, guys. How about just a little sympathy for poor Spurs fans?
  6. A lot of very clever, interesting people like the Dunes. Usually the kiss of death for me.
  7. We should challenge people when they use the "b word" because, no matter how casually or innocuously it may be meant, it always* carries the gendered freight of ugly sexism, and ultimately, its meaning is based on denigrating women. It's especially a problem when we use it for women as a noun. * The one exception may be in dog breeding, where the term is still used widely, if awkwardly.
  8. I hope you're right. I feel like Emery has a slight history of understating injuries, maybe trying to keep spirits up, etc. But I hope as we all do Ollie heals quickly.
  9. Great round-up, and yup, you hit all the salient issues, IMO. I don't know if Fred is free of injury at the moment, but last time I saw him playing for Fenerbahçe last fall -- supremely confident, poised, a playmaker -- I was like, what happened to the end-of-career-ManU Fred? He was not that man. The home atmosphere there was ... frightening.
  10. Spot on. Less worried about Olympiakos, but Fenerbahce and Lille are both very dangerous.
  11. Has anyone said how ****-ing incredible it is to have this forum topic -- to be talking quarter-finals in Europe, to be speculatin' and prognosticatin' on whether we would prefer Fiorentina or Lille or Olympiakos (none of them, please!!!!!). So happy. This is golden this year -- golden.
  12. Great post. Double-edge sword tho -- you see how quickly a club can fall. Must not get complacent.
  13. I hear ya, but I think some of the games where we lost leads were more about complacency and losing our focus, and not about being delicate flowers unable to deal with being hassled.
  14. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Martinez look so bored. A beautiful sight
  15. Couldn’t agree more. And to think we did it without Ollie is amazing.
  16. Every minute our younger players get on the pitch raises their value on the market another £100,000.
  17. Few players deserve that more. He worked so hard today.
  18. Well, he is playing against Aston Villa. I think ManPoo want him. Fine with me.
  19. Not for us, but Brobbrey is an incredible player. He’s definitely going to go somewhere else eventually. He’s still very young. What a fighter.
  20. I don’t think so. We’re gonna be able to tire them out now. Just as long as we don’t get too comfortable.
  21. Ajax keeper is a cool cat. Is incredibly well composed.
  22. He’s had some clankers today, but I still feel really good about his presence in the squad, and I think he’s got every opportunity to learn with us. I’m really glad he’s part of the club! Incredible presence.
