  1. Salt in the wound is now you CAN watch proper Championship broadcasts in North America.
  2. I fear Palace now. Their new manager has them running like a Ferrari. We might find it easier to beat Liverpool at VP than Palace away.
  3. I'm a big fan of Fassbender.
  4. The K_ller with Michael Fassbender.
  5. All in all, a decent weekend. Blues get relegated and we gain +1 GD on Spurs while moving a small step closer to securing 4th place.
  6. This. It just doesn't look like it belongs on a badge.
  7. But they currently are in 4th place, and if they finish in 4th place, that's exactly where they should be, and on merit. But they could be in 3rd place or even higher had we exploited those opportunities more. And Spurs, United and Chelsea could all be a bit further back. In recent years, Man City and Liverpool have mastered this aspect of taking advantage of the big moments when the pressure really ramps up. Arsenal are trying to prove that they've mastered it too. And this critique is not meant to underrate the incredible turnaround Emery has achieved or the achievements of the players. They have all been a revelation. But there are still things to improve, and all I'm doing is acknowledging what one of those things is. And I trust Emery to make those improvements over the duration of his tenure with the club, because he is becoming an elite manager before our very eyes.
  8. Great point. We can LOSE the final two games to remain at 67. Spurs must WIN all three of their games to have any hope of finishing above us.
  9. The expression was not intended to sound that unsophisticated. What I was attempting to convey is that the team as a collective, including the manager and coaches, have to find a way to be more composed, more ruthless, and more tactically shrewd when presented with certain opportunities over the course of the season to advance in tournaments, close the gap on an immediate rival or put distance on an immediate rival. Elite teams who operate at the highest levels for sustained periods of time are able to do this, and that's why they win trophies- by employing a combination of psychology and planning to optimize performance. It's really not an esoteric concept.
  10. Hate to have to agree with you. Europe was always going to present this problem.
  11. Not the worst day for us, with the Spurs loss and the increased GD. But it was another blown opportunity to drop the axe on an immediate rival. We need to learn how to strike when the iron is hot.
  12. Scale is the wrong word. Every element is in balance and positioned evenly with no big gaps of empty space.
  13. Quite possibly. But is it really any more ridiculous than some of the other designs we've seen? It's not a masterpiece by any stretch, but it's unusual, which is refreshing, and it looks professionally designed. I think it's better than the Lerner badges, anyway. I like any design that satisfies my eyes, and this manages to do that.
  14. Sabotaged by the ref, but we still deserved to lose. Brighton looked like they were the ones chasing 4th. We had no urgency, no propulsion. Lazy sticking-out-the-leg flicks that missed their marks, telegraphed passes, slowness in closing down, not enough movement off the ball, lacked composure under pressure. All the elements of an exhausted team cracking under intense pressure to achieve their objectives at the end of a long campaign. The Conference League has affected us in the way we feared it would. Players are falling like flies to injury, and others are running on fumes and out of form. Our best goal scorers aren't getting enough service. Our midfield is barely a cohesive entity. A Spurs win or even draw will heap even more pressure on these players who haven't experienced anything like this before for the most part. Emery has a huge task now that we've dropped the 3 points that were arguably the least difficult to attain. A trip across Europe to the cauldron of Piraeus and the possibility of another extra time marathon. And the Liverpool who look really good today. He's going to have to play basically the same 11 as today for both matches. Our players are going to have to suffer to get this over the line. I don't know if my hypertension can handle a Selhurst Park finale with 4th place on the line. I have faith we can still win the cup and get 4th place. But today has shaken my confidence.
  15. Moreno can't get around defenders anymore. And that was his best attribute.
  16. Yep. Brighton have looked like the team chasing 4th place. Villa have looked like the mid table side with one eye on the beach. Probably the most pissed off I've been at Villa in a long time.
  17. Blowing life into Tottenham sails with this insipid shit show.
  18. Cruel. But we deserve nothing from this game thus far. **** sad display. Thus far.
