    My father's mother lived with advanced Alzheimer's for about 20 years in a nursing home. The first time I saw him cry was after he returned home from visiting her and she no longer knew who he was. Just a totally barbaric disease that I pray doesn't steal any more of my loved ones, or steal me, for that matter.

    Spot on, @NurembergVillan Exactly how that should be handled. Let it die a quick death. Impossible to know the actual context. I think there should be more portraits/murals of Villa legends in and around Villa Park, so players (and younger/newer fans) can become more familiar with the faces of Aston Villa heroes. I regret not having seen Sid play. His stature at the club has been apparent all the while. When I started following Villa in 1994, 1982 seemed like ancient history. But retrospectively, it was really just around the bend of time. So I do feel connected to Sid, through you guys, and I thank you for that. And I wish the absolute best for Sid and his loved ones.

    Damn, he's way too young to be afflicted with dementia. What a tragedy. It's got to be particularly heartbreaking for his family and close friends. Life is just a **** dice roll.

    Just saw the Belgium highlights. Looked like a good game. I quite like those matte black England shirts with the retro numbers and no names. The little swath of color by the ribs seems pointless though. Good to see Tielemans bag a brace even if the goals came off bad goalkeeping and defending. Hopefully it helps him score more goals for Villa. Bowen is a pleasure to watch. I really wish we'd beaten West Ham to the punch and put him in proper claret and blue. Bellingham is the man. We should sign him when his contract is up Absolute force of nature. If Snoutgate actually drops Ollie for the Euros will Villa fans go to the games?

    While I still think the Etihad is nothing more than a bigger and drabber version of Ricoh Arena, I've come to appreciate the Emirates Stadium. I used to equate the two, but Emirates is so much better.
