You can't compare the two. MON's had money, DOL didn't. When D'OL did have money (at Leeds) he did well. I'd still rather have MON though.

Similar dilemma here too. I'm planning on watching the game in my local pub. Good mix of Villa and Blues, my mate's birthday, basically gonna make a day of it... ...but... ...Villa have never ever won a game that I watched in that pub - and I've watched dozens of games there over the course of about 8 years. A perfect example is Spurs away this season. I listened to the first half in the car on the radio, I got into the pub just in time for the second half. I dunno if I should jinx it. haha

Mourinho won the CL with Porto, then the prem with Chelsea in his first season.. of course he spent a fortune, but turning them into a team in his first season was an awesome achievement. Can we all at least agree that if you gave Martin O'Neill a half decent team and a few hundred million quid to spend on it, he would win the Premiership?

Every season that MON has been a manager, his team have performed better than anticipated and won games and competitions that they were not expected to win. That's why he's so highly rated. It's been a theme throughout his career. Aside from the Champions League win, Jose has won games and competitions that he WAS expected to win. Well done to Jose for winning the Euro cup but is it that much more of an achievement than Leicester winning a cup? Relatively speaking? But anyway... I've always said the Villa job is MON's toughest test. Expectations are huge and so is the competition. In Scotland expectation was equally high but there wasn't much in the way of competition. He's not perfect but he's doing okay.

Exactly. The vast majority of professional football managers could have replicated what he did at Chelsea. I'm not saying it's easy or it's not something to be proud of, but given the tools he had at his disposal it's harder to lose than it is to win.

Both of them are pretty much equally good managers. MON's already here and knows the players so we'd be better off keeping him. Plus he's nuts and I love him I really don't get why Mourinho's the messiah.

General, just out of interest, do you know what players Martin and Randy are trying to sign? I'm NOT asking you to name them, I'm NOT asking how many there are, or ANY details at all - because quite rightly you'd tell me to f*ck off. All I'd like to know is, do you know who he wants?

Bought one about 3 years ago because I was working away and didn't want to miss the Sopranos. I recorded one episode and have never used it since. I wouldn't mind but it wasn't cheap! It's still under the telly, next to the Sky+ box. I use it for the clock!

To be fair, it's not far off the best we've ever had. Not bad considering the lack of signings thus far.
