  1. Other problem is this - yes we get £20m and people say we can get a world class player for that. Indeed you can but said player won't be interested in coming to a team like us. Players at the top want CL or big wages and we can't offer either.
  2. Got to say I'm more disappointed in the player. Always tought he had more class than that but it's obvious we were nothing more than a stepping stone. Don't often use the word but James, you are a word removed!
  3. And this is based on what exactly? The game was shit because neither team had any real incentive to win.
  4. It's just a shame we couldn't have scraped a win against Sunderland or Wolves
  5. Well, what can I say? We've won, enjoy it. It was not anywhere near as bad as you're making out.
  6. You would have boo'd our winning side off the pitch wouldn't you? Also bet you listened to it on the radio? Pathetic. ¨ 1) Go bang your head against the wall. 2) I watched the game. 3) We were shit but scored 2 goals. Nothing to cheer about playing wise. Hull had enough chances to bag a couple of goals. Lucky Villa. 4) I bet you only read BBC match commentary. 5) Bang your head against the wall again. Absolute tripe. So, I am the only one who bored himself through two hours of Villa? Think not! I don't have any problems when we play good and lose, but today's game was the most boring I have seen for a long time. Why should I celebrate the players performance? If that offends you, you should go to bed, homie. I actually enjoyed it, you should've turned up in the GT MK2 and DOL days.

We looked in complete control for all but about 20 mins when it was even at worse. Hull had one chance that should have resulted in a goal but our 'great' defending meant it was kept out. If you can't be pleased with an away win then don't bother watching the team. IMO there were some promosing performances. Warnock/Cuellar looked better on the ball than Sunday. Downing was more involved and Gabby looked a lot more dangerous. It's all about results at this stage of the season and it looks like we're going to regret those two home draws big style.
  8. Did we lose? I dread to think what the Spurs boards were like last weekend? Yes, that was a similar team to the one that put the 4th placed team out. A little context please - the business end of the season is always about results and we got one.
  9. We missed the boat on Bent. He was available, in budget and we let him and his 21 goals pass us by.
  10. I am a teacher so it would be B- (79.75%). I think he's done a great job compared to where we were but there's still room to improve. Until we push the boat out on a goal getter then we'll always fall just short. We also need a a more energetic CM, someone like Patrick Viera in the good old days. Despite the sqaud being stronger we're still playing two full backs out of position and although it's working it can't be right.
  11. Well, we all know we'll be winning until the last minute when we concede two injury times goals and have to wait another year.
  12. I think people expect too much too soon. My dad has always said don't judge a player on their first season and I guess with some of the examples we've seen he was right.
  13. Well that obviously means there will be a thread speculating Carew has been reprimanded again and will be out in January.
  14. Just to add my view to the Celtic/Rangers debate. I feel very strongly about this and cannot see what would be gained by allowing them to join other than money. Greed has slowly strangled our game over the last 20 years and if these plans were to go ahead I feel it would be another nail in the coffin of our beloved game. In addition it also pains me to see our manager apparently supporting the idea and wondered what the club's view is on the proposal. I the only benefactors I can see are Rangers/Celtic and perhaps the teams that are allowed to cling on to their premiership status. Quite why we feel the need to help them is beyond me. As far as I'm concerned they should be concentrating their efforts on improving their league. Would it be possible for you to air yours/the club's views?
  15. We didn't replace Barry. We can only hope Downing comes good as Petrov looks invincible regardless of his form. A captain should be a player that is the first name on the sheet, consistent in form but we have a captain that only performs in one formation and looks utter crap in a 442. We should have got a draw as a minimum today. Can't understand how negative we were in terms of our attacking play, especially after they were reduced to 10 men.
  16. I have a plan - Let's buy some decent midfielders that allow us to play 4-4-2 without looking shite. Petrov is not good enough and it's laughable that people thought he was better than Barry. At the end of the day , we have one game plan - Ashley Young. However, our midfield is not good enough to give him the ball in threatening positions hence hwy he is a shadow of the player we had 12 months ago.
  17. Thought Sidwell had a good game today
  18. We all know what's gonna happen, we've been here before
  19. I feel a little letdown too. I'm normally excited at the start of a season full with hope and expectation. However, I appear to have lost the zest despite being a season ticket holder. Fortunately, a wedding spared last Saturday's embarrassment but for the fisrt time in years I couldn't actually tell you our next five fixtures such is the way i feel at the moment. All the raised expectations of the last two seasons have disappeared. Other teams seem to have reached our level and surpassed us in a fraction of the time whereas we appear to have gone backwards. I appreciate signing players is not as easy as some would think but we do appear to be the 'poor relations' when it come to business in the window. I cannot agree with anyone who claims our squad has improved in the close season. We have a team that cannot defend, a midfield that lacks the quality to control games and a strike force that appears to have forgotten what the goal looks like and TBF the writing has been on the wall since Feb, if i can see that then surely so called 'professionals' can so why are these issues not being addressed? No doubt we will sign a couple of players but I have serious doubts they will be of the quality fans are expecting given the so called ambitions of the club.
  20. Why is the club so silent when only last week every Tom, Dick and Harry were giving their thoughts? Surely now is the time to reassure fans of the club's objectives since talk of Champions League does not seem to be matching up with what is happening at the club at the moment, nor the past 5 months for that matter.
