    Jez, stop being so negative. Every link is shot down by you at the moment. Just calm down and enjoy it. SWP would improve a current team dramatically, forget what's happened at Chelsea and remember the play that walked through a defence to score in front of the Holte. Saying he's not a MON player is silly because MON has never had resources to get such a player at his previous clubs. He's always played with wingers but had t make do with Guppy and the like. I for one would be delighted if this came off.

    And being an ex-Forest man he has no connections as such with London. City can't afford him unless Richards is involved, West Ham are in trouble and I struggle to see Everton competing financially after spending £8m on the diver. Stubbs was recently interviewed on Football Focus stating Everton can only really do that once every two seasons. Would love this to be true and happen.

    If anyone thinks we'll be able to sign 6 players you're having a laugh. If we can get 2 or 3 in the January window it will be a job well done. There is very little business done at this time of year and you're only likely to tempt Championship clubs with big money or get Prem players not in the first XI. You might get a foreigner but MON has already stated he's not overly keen at the stage of the season given the settling in period.

    I wonder if RL's bid was lower than expected (not £64m) because he planned for a counter bid and knew he could stretch furhter should it happen? Could explain AV06 bidding more then they need to. Also, didn't AV06 state they wanted managers other than MON? He was not their preffered choice and MON could be removed if their bid was successful.

    But does anyone know the effect of a new bid a day or so before the 10 day period expires? Does the cycle start again thus dragging it out longer by 10/21 days or what? Could AV06 bid on the 9th day to throw a spanner in the works?

    Out of interest, could shareholders like myself, reject an offer if it came from an unwanted party, thus making it less likely that party would suceed? I know that if the baord agree than there aren't enough shares to change it but if....Sod it, I reckon that PAdfield hasn't even met Ellis yet and if he's on hols then he's got **** all chance. Remember how long lerner's been at the table and he only bid yesterday.

    No, it will take over three weeks from there to finish the details, but that will all be formality So lets be honest the takeover is not going to happen before the season starts! It never was!

    Well a journo (Times, I think) said a takeover wouldn't be completed till the end of Sept at the earliest, probably Oct, so I think we just need to sit back and be patient.

    If he didn't want to sell then why bother paying Rothschild a hefty fee to search the world for buyers. Surely he'd just carry on as he has done for the last two decades? I think he will sell, but only on his terms. This statement is basically sayind 'decide what you want and stick to it you old prick' Hopefully this will all be resolved sooner rather than later.

    Ok, so he's no ronaldo, but he will score and we'll get two years out of him. Until we qualify for europe this is the kind of player that will join. No big signing will come to a team outside europe but it's difficult to qualify without buying quality. The solution is to buy proven players (which we have done) that may not put bums on seats but could sneak us a spot in the UEFA, then we can splash the cash.
