  1. And the boy most likely to gropw up to be a serial killer is ..... :winkold: Thats a bit harsh mate, I thought he was excellent in Darling Buds of May. Whats it like to kiss Catherine Zeta Jones, Nibbly?
  2. He would definitely score goals for us, we may not like him but if he does the business we would love him.
  3. Hi General, looking forward to next wWeekend immensely and I have now received my tickets for Friday and Sunday. Just come for an update on the HRH invite, have we received a response yet? Does he want to bring his grandmother with him? Will Prince Philip come with him and say something completely unappropriate? Oh, the possibilities.
  4. Can we have the following as well: brown leather balls with laces again a really shit pitch at the Baseball Ground Jimmy Hill running the line a bird with big tits as the streaker bananas getting thrown at Mark Walters at Leeds a Leeds fan getting a wall fall on him at Sty Andrews Villa winning the third division with the greatest away following ever at Meadow Lane Alan Ball still with us fans pissing in other fans pockets darts being thrown between home and away fans West Brom having the 3 degrees everyone remembering the sound of Alex Cropley's leg getting broken Terry Weir and the battle of the wine gums takeover battles at Aston Villa Tiswas on a Saturday morning Rene and Renato at the top of the charts George and Mildred Notts Forest winning the European cup twice Sadly all other than the streaker are destined for the history books.
  5. As a squad player? We're not going to have a team full of 'stars' for many many years IMO. Look at Chelsea (pre-Abramovich) and Spurs, when they suddenly became exciting and "big" in many people's eyes. Buying players like Vialli and Davids is clever. Stars who are on the brink of their careers. Sure, they won't last for 8 years but they will last for 2-3. What about Fab Ravanelli to Boro? What about Juninho to Boro? Arguably a crappier club than us at the time. What about Djorkaeff who was still a big player although up in the years, and what about Owen/Duff to Newcastle? What about Woodgate to Boro last season when they were really crap? And how about Tevez/Mascherano to WH? To put it out simple, we are more than able to sign big players as long as we show the proper ambition and put the right monies on the table. A lot of those teams did **** awful! I would rather have a Steve Sidwell now than a washed up has been on big money here for one last pay day such as Mr Ginola and his £42000pw, brink of his career. And he was shit!
  6. He won't sign Saviola, have seen MO'N say in front of my very eyes that he thinks that Saviola was a quality player but isn't special any more.
  7. Probably been listening for over 2 years when I dont go out, when I do go out I'm normally clubbing till the buses start again. It will be interesting how much they discuss Villa in the US over the next few months. How is your battle going Paddy? hope all is well.
  8. I heard that too. I always listen when I'm not clubbing. Tim Vickery would be an excellent scout for us.
  9. Where did you hear that? I can't imagine this being true at all. LOL!
  10. You wouldn't class Petrov as a hero though would you? I doubt you would piss on him if he was on fire!
  11. I thought the oldest was Geronimo and the newest addition was Thomas. As much as he is a nice guy, for that money I expected better, a flop for me over the duration of his stay. I will never forget two missed pens at Fulham!
  12. Marlon King is a flash in the pan, he is worse than Marlon Harewood and he proved that at Notts Forest.
  13. Met Dessie in Tescos on Tuesday, a top man and stopped and chatted to me for a couple of minutes before he went about his business on Broad Street. He thought we should be doing teams like Everton and he is looking forward to the celebrations for the 25th anniversary. A real 100% player.
  14. Time will tell but he clearly has a manager who rates him, thats a start.
  15. Excellent result today General, it should set us up for a nerve free end of season where we can play with some freedom. From another thread we have been discussing link ups with other events and sports locally. Do you think that we could link up with the Brummies Speedway who have returned to Birmingham after 20 years and are racing at Perry Barr Stadium. It is anticipated that after football it will be the most popular spectator sport in the city over a season. Surely we should position ourselves with them and hopefully it can be good for both bussinesses and supporters. Complimentary rather than a substitute.
  16. Nice to see that when I woke up this morning there was some post for me from the Villa that had been sent by 1st Class post highlighting the 25th anniversary celebrations with the strap line 'Proud History - Bright Future'. Booked my training ground tickets yesterday but after seeing that I had to call to get my ticket for Back to Rotterdam, I was advised that I had been lucky enough to get the last ticket. Can't wait to meet some of my heroes that I have yet met like Peter Withe and have my picture taken with the European Cup, it will be something that will take pride of place in my house. Will Randy be attending? It would be nice to show him my appreciation of what he is doing for my club in person.
  17. The guy has always been a pro London clearing in the woods, he couldn't give a shit about us or the blue scouse
  18. At least the guy showed some passion, I'm sure that the General won't admit it but I bet he actually quite enjoyed it.
  19. Were we not the last unbeaten team in the country? That would tell me that he got his point across to the players pretty quickly. DOL spent about £13m on 8 players in his last summer rather poorly in my opinion, plus we could always bring up the likes of Seth Johnson. The players clearly did not like DOL and didn't appreciate his negative attitude.
  20. Fact is that Zat Knight is always on the piss around here and coming back to the area will suit him. Make no mistake though he is shit and when he is back round here all his hangers on will result in his performances getting even worse! Anyone can say they are a Villa fan but did he used to pay to watch us play? I doubt it.
  21. Bit tricky to not be dull with the funds available at Celtic and Leicester, he has money now and has tried to get some attacking players. Time will tell if he does it with any success though.
  22. You should look up Celtic's record in Europe on Wikipedia or something, rather than continually making an arse of yourself. :notworthy: When did Rosenborg get to a Uefa Cup final Rocafella? And you can't belittle it that season becaused that Porto team won the lot. Celtic have always been a big club but MO'N put the life back in the club that hadn't been there since Jock Stein.
  23. Nice to hear that all is well General and that you are still thinking positively like many of us here despite our difficult run, some people just don't understand that confidence or lack of it is more difficult to restore in young players. With regards away fans in home areas there are definitely fans of other clubs on our database who only buy tickets for games where Villa play the team they support, surely there are ways to make this more difficult such as having to have a history of purchasing for 2 or more different opposition when trying to buy tickets for the category A games.
