  1. Why can't he stay and further his career? Have we not just been taken over by fabulous wealthy and well connected people? Isn't the future bright? Isn't he only 22?
  2. They could. Can't see Chelsea needing him that much though apart from to fill a quota. And they'd have to spaff shitloads on it. Jack is very very promising but he's not yet at the point everybody would be falling over themselves to get him. That will come. Hopefully once were in the PL, building our own top squad and fencing off bids.
  3. Guarantee him everything except game time. Which he wouldn't get much of.
  4. I don't know about the shady world of finance although I'm no stranger to numbers. What I do know is that certain people can be very creative with it. That's up to them. What I do know is PR and marketing. And releasing statements where you are relying on thousands of people reading between the lines is not something smart people do. You're only inviting trouble and malcontent from what basically are your customers. Sorry Pete, I don't see it.
  5. Yes, all clubs sell players. But selling your best player after taking over, after saying nobody is for sale. That would be stupid and these guys are definitely not stupid. As for the semantics of having or choosing to sell. I think choosing to sell is worse. If we had to sell him I think most fans would grudgingly understand. But Bruce and thus the board are on record saying we don't. So I'll go with that. As for the miasmatic world of football finance and FFP. I'm not even going to begin to try and decipher it. I know these guys are very financially savvy, experienced in the world of sports and will be surrounded by some of the very best advisors. So I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and leave it them. And I'll take their word that nobody has to be sold. There's nothing else of worth to go on at the moment. As for giving them kudos for selling Jack for £30m. You must be joking. Firstly, we're not over a barrel like we were weeks ago. Secondly, £30m is not great value considering the sums players are changing hands for now. What kudos is is due selling your best player for less than he's worth after saying you don't have to sell anybody?
  6. So why announce to an already sensitive fan base that nobody is for sale? This would seem like criminal stupidity for new people looking to make a good impression. I dont think they're stupid.
  7. Vlad Tepes is an agent of the Goat of Mendes. Coincidence?
  8. If we dont have to sell him, and that appears to be the case as Bruce himself has said, presumably with the blessing of NSWE, and Grealish forces a move somewhere, I dont see why anybody would wish him well. We developed him, brought him through, put up with him being a gobshite piss artist, nursed him back to full health and gave him a shot again. We now have stupid amounts of financial backing. Its not hard to imagine us climbing back to the top. If you're 22 you can afford to see how it all pans out. Especially as you're a central figure. To leave now to go to some grubby London club to make up numbers would be daft, and no, he would not go with my best wishes. He'd be dead to me. A few months watching from the bench and we'd see him in the tabloids on his arse again.
  9. It will, but for many fans, including most of the youngsters, it will be a real kick in the knickers on the eve of hostilities. Grealish has become talismanic to us and anybody taking his place while O'Hare is recovering/developing will be under extreme pressure. Promotion will have become more unlikely too and thats the absolute priority. NSWE, take heed of the great philosophers of Grange Hill. Just say no.
  10. I don't see Chester saying anything many of us haven't said. Nothing really insightful there. Or doesn't seem to know. All the one eyed media top4 / London bias is angling any story towards Grealish deserving to play at the top level. Yeah, I agree. The whole club should be there. And will be. And Jack should be front and centre rather than watching from the bench as an English quota makeweight. words removed.
  11. The message to Spurs should be: Right... This is how it's going to happen. We're going to play a game of **** off. You go first.
  12. Prudent, yes. Tight, no. They're loaded and will have to use financial muscle to get us to the PL. They havent bought us to tread water in the second tier. Then a mix of the right sponsorships, investments, youth scouting, scouting in general, facilities and partnerships can deliver a top team that's sustainable. That's all anybody could ask.
  13. I don't know whether we need to sell JG to satisfy FFP or not. Im guessing not, as we released a statement or article saying we dont need to. These guys are serious players so will have an idea how to get around FFP if possible. Also, after just taking over a club and being careful with the image they have with fans, saying nobody for sale then selling our best player seems like too dumb a move for them. At least to me. I think Grealish is staying. I hope so.
  14. To be fair, Stoke don't have an army of fake tanned gobshites wearing guyliner and Elizabeth Duke talking bollocks about their club. If they did Chester would probably be in 'advanced negotiations' with them.
  15. To be fair to Delph, and from what I heard, we pushed him out of the door and wanted money for him. He wasn't pushing for a move. Barry I have no issue with. We were looking like genuine top 4 challengers and went and bought Heskey instead of a striker. After that we pulled the drawbridge in. He deserved a shot at something better. So did Milner. Grealish hasn't done anything like enough to be waved off into to the sunset to poxy Spurs. I think he'd say the same himself. Give the new owners a chance to get the club where it needs to be. Help acheive that. If it fails then fair enough. But he could realise all his ambitions at Villa with a bit of patience.
  16. As opposed to Ross McCormack. Harry McCormack's alcoholic brother.
  17. Ok well to me it's like this. If we can buy players we don't need to sell. If we don't need to sell tell Spurs to go forth. Sell the chaff if we can by all means. But not Jack.
  18. Apart from some bellend Spurs guy - and most of them chat shit like they breathe air, who says he is leaving? Anybody genuinely credible?
  19. I'm not OK with him going but trying to be realistic. He deserves to be in the PL and if we can't convince him to give us one more season, so be it. However, I would say he does owe us that season. We only had him for half a season last year and may have gone up automatically had he stayed. Once we're back in the PL we'll have enough financial clout to compete. So, tell Spurs bollocks. Tell Jack to stay and give it one more shot. If that's a non starter insist we keep him on loan for the season and get their best fringe / youth players on loan. If that's a non starter take a stupid amount of cash and their best youth players on loan. We'll have ripped the heart out of our team and would need an influx of quality players to compensate. We do need some of that anyway.
  20. I say buy Spurs new stadium and let it to them at a punitive rate.
  21. I would have little reservation in saying Grealish is the best player in the Championship. Players do get overrated and certainly by their own fans but I can't think of a better or more talented player in this division.
  22. After making a point of saying nobody is for sale and having just taken over, I think selling Grealish now would be a massive own goal. If that does happen, and I wish Spurs would just **** off and die, there needs to be some pretty shit hot players coming in.
