  1. Someone said he would be really scary looking if he was an undertaker, and so i started a campaign to get that as his nick. Hard Defenders and lead guitarists should have cool nicks imo The Edge The Undertaker Slash See? So, if enough people call him the undertaker enough of the time it will stick ...
  2. Fabio Capello thinks he can England don't play 4-5-1 do they? with Wayne Rooney in the side, it's never a 4-5-1, Rooney plays off Heskey, not even any resemblence to how we play. Rooney plays wide left for England when Heskey is playing. No. Gerrard does. Walcott on the right, Barry and Lampard as central midfielders with Rooney playing off Heskey. Suggest you watch more closely tomorrow and on Weds if Emile plays (its a different formation when Heskey doesnt play) England with heskey play 4-3-2-1, with up front Rooney left, Walcott right, Heskey at point, Barry, Gerrard and Fat Frank behind - actually a very similar formation to Villa
  3. Bloody hell, how many "comedy" rip offs of that clip are there going to be? there is even one mocking the parodies ...

  5. Well, its international week How much training will Dicky or even Jimmy The Undertaker be able to have with the lads before this one? Clark and Cuellar, assuming there is no U-19 footy this week, can spend the next ten days working together However, I think Dicky Dunne will get the nod, and probably the armband. If so, will be interesting to see what Stan's reaction is.
  6. I'm sure you are right, but I'd pick clark after the way he played on his debut, and I'd also pick Shorey after his last couple of games, but i dont suppose either will actually start
  7. So would I, but I like to win because I hate the inbred, knuckledragging, unwashed, child molesting, flat-forehead, flea ridden, sister ****, bestial Sty Dwellers I'm with you there Rob
  8. .................................Friedel................................... L Young............Clark..................Cuellar...........Shorey ...............Reo-Coker.....Sidwell......Petrov................. Milner............................................................Young .............................Agbonlahor............................... subs: Guzan, Dunne, Warnock, Delph, Albrighton, Heskey, Carew
  9. Have seen Small heath a couple of times this season on the telly, at Old trafford and Spurs They should have got a draw at Man U and really, really should have beaten Tottenham. They seem to want to play "properly" ball on the ground, moving it quickly. Defensively they are very solid. Their very obvious weakness is a total lack of creativity in the final third, but still I think its the best SHA team for quite some years in short, difficult game. I'd take a point I think.

  11. That kinda thing p1sses me off :? I dont know if its a nation wide thing, but round here its customary to put a shot of gin into your cider, especially if its the factory produced fizzy crap from Taunton, otherwise you'd be all night trying to get even a buzz on I did this with a couple of pints of Black rat and honestly dont remember the rest of the night. I went into the pub couple of weeks later and was chatting to the landlord and he said he'd never have served gin with Black Rat but wasnt working that night .....

And yet the yleave the "h" off the beginning of "herbs" and pronounce Van Gogh in such a way that it took me quite some considerable time at first to figure out who the hell they were on about.....
  14. Dont think so, strong indications that Shorey is off to Pompey
  15. Stoke last year was arguably caused, at least partly by lack of tactical changes when ahead, as were several other poor results during that horrible run. our midfield ran out steam, they got back into the game - see Rapid Vienna just the other day for a further example So I was pleased to see us changing things around yesterday, even though it was only a little bit, at 2-0 up as its something we really need to do more of. Hopefully now that o'Neill has seen that the sky doesnt necessarily fall in when you do it he'll be a little more adventurous next time this situation occurs
  16. 4-5-1 Good Davies taken out of the firing line Good Sidwell and NRC in midfield Good tactical substitution when winning Good Comfortable three points from a tricky game Good Still clearly some things to work on, but overall its nice to be talking about positives again, has been a long time

I remember when hitching from NY to SF that we had got to somewhere in western Pennsylvania on I-80, and looked at the map to see how far we had come. Was a long way, taken a couple of days, couple of folds of the map. How much further to go? That map just kept on going, fold after fold after fold ..... truly an enormous place. I remember being in Omaha Nebraska on the same trip and it dawning on me how far from the sea I was -this might not be a big deal to an American to be over a thousand miles from the nearest sea, but bloody hell when you think that here you are really pushed to be more than 100 miles from the seaside ...
  18. Will be 4-4-2 IMO, I think he will pick Freidel, Beye, Cuellar, Davies/Lowry, Warnock, Young, Petrov, Reo-Coker/Sidwell, Milner, Carew, Gabby Not the team I'd pick, but hey ho AS they've been away in russia this week we should have a leg up, but they are tough buggers defensively Close game, not many goals 1-0 to us?
  19. While I appreciate all the good points made above, there is I think an old fashioned part of me that just loves European football. There is something about the status, something about the fans (I thought the Rapid fans in both games were brilliant, the atmosphere at their place really something else, as it had been in Prague last year), just something about the ambience of European football that I love. it probably stems from trips to places like Brussels and Rotterdam, and it probably hearkens back to the days when playing in this competition meant real "status", when fans all over the country would be watching a rare live TV game and it'd be us! There is still a part of me that believes that a decent team would do well in this competition, regardless, and that winning it, or at the very least doing well, would help elevate the club to a new level and would be really great experience for the likes of Young and Gabby So I'm going to be a little envious watching Fulham and Everton and even Celtic this year, especially if they go far and have a big match or two. Good luck to them
