  1. His having a chance does not preclude anyone else having one. I'm not talking of dropping someone from the team or from the bench to accommodate him immediately. Places are there for players to earn now and he needs to do that as do the other players that you mention.
  2. Our new boss will know the type of service that Scott needs and if he gets that but still fails to do the business he will be well placed to tell him what he did previously that he's not doing now. If he still doesn't produce the goods then he won't have a leg to stand on but until we reach that point he deserves the opportunity to make a fresh start and a chance to prove his doubters wrong. Let's hope he can.

    Sir Doug Ellis

My thoughts are with his family on their loss. So it's Ellis out. He will never be forgotten by those of us that he once described as being "mere men of the terraces."
  4. You could see how excited he was about the prospect of taking the job in that interview a couple of days ago. Dean really wanted the job and that's a very good start. He's one of our own and he has served his apprenticeship at Brentford and Walsall. Others may have been in the frame but he's our man and will have our 110% support. Good luck Dean it's a big job but you know that and you're up for it. Oh Deno, Who-oh-oh Deno....

    John Terry

Welcome back John. Good luck with organising that defence and on this first step in becoming a coaching legend. That "unfinished business" is waiting in the in tray for you.
  6. I think Dean Smith might find it difficult to be number one with someone of JT's profile working alongside him. I'm sure I read somewhere that Paraguay's manager Juan Carlos Osorio who managed Mexico at the World Cup would be ready to jump ship for us. If we can't get Faria perhaps Ranieri would work alongside JT? We will be speaking to Mad Mick soon the way this is going. Lets offer Terry the job now!
  7. Has anyone other than Yorke, Withe, Petrov and Mad Mick said they want the job yet?
  8. Never wanted that cheating Henry anyway. Robbed Ireland of a World Cup spot in 2009 with that handball goal. The man is a cad and hasn't enough bottle to take a job that may prove too difficult for his liking. Time to move onto the Faria/Terry dream team!
  9. I would try Moreira, Elmo, Chester, Axel, Hutton, Thor, Hourihane, Bolasie, McGinn, Jack and Abraham but if JT wants to come out of retirement or pick another eleven then that is fine with me.
  10. Perhaps we did but he wasn't up for joining us then either?
  11. Or with JT in charge of the whole shooting match?
  12. Lets hope that proves to be the case and that Harry just got a little confused.
  13. Perhaps Harry wants the job himself? I had thought initially that Henry might choose to stay with Belgium and wait for a job in the PL. It would be a pity if he considered the job to be too high risk for him and if he did not back himself enough to be a success in it. No doubt we will find out soon enough one way or the other. If Henry does decide the job would be too big for him then we can swiftly move on to JT and to others who wouldn't. Paddypower still have Henry at 2/5 by the way.
  14. Harry has just said on Talksport that he's heard Henry won't be happening.Thinks Terry more likely.
  15. I'm sure more than a few that do would rather they didn't.
  16. Don't say things like that even in jest! I would guess that Henry will leave Belgium at the weekend or after their game on Tuesday to be here when the bulk of our squad have returned from international duty.
  17. Graham Turner and Billy McNeill say hi..
  18. So it seems our new overlords have raised the profile of our club to the extent that the Henry/Terry dream team or failing that the likes of Rodgers and Martinez may be Bruce's replacement. One or more of these may ultimately withdraw from consideration but if so, there are others that would want the job that would be well qualified for it. It's great that we are now able to select from the best where not so long ago we were struggling to attract one of the rest.
  19. Our defence already does a passable impression of The Maginot Line. It is easy to get around and lacks mobility. Where it currently differs from it is that it's short of big guns and does not face many German attacks as it's stuck in the Championship.
  20. He has turned us down before and I would expect him to do so again if we offered him the job. I wouldn't give him the chance to do that myself.
  21. Perhaps we approached Martinez to ask to speak to Henry and he replied "Gis us a job, I can do that."
  22. Or was it? "Listen, I will say this only once. Hands off the Villa job it's JT's and mine!"
