I can 100% confirm Liverpool have made an enquiry. But its just an enquiry. What that enquiry entailed, i don’ t know. Probably are we willing to sell and what the fee is. I know not much to go on, but the rumors are true on contact from them.

In years gone past we had to wait to end of the window to make signings. Reason being we were always going for experienced prem players and had to wait to get best possible price. Now we are going for less expensive players and we can afford to pay 2-300k extra instead of the 2-3 million extra in years past to buy early. On top of that Lambert will want less experienced players in early to have an extra 3 months over the summer to work with them. The exception to this was last year as Lambert had to take time to figure out what he needed and then scout them when he came in

If i was him i would go to Villa and its nothing to do with who is bigger club or what league they play in. Its because the celtic manager Lennon has been touting himself out to prem clubs every chance he gets over the past 2-3 weeks. Would any player want to go to a club when the manager might get up and leave the next day?

A friendly with Celtic? Dear god no. Lets just send the money to Stan instead. But it will be a bigger game for them than anything they will play in the league that season we got to give their fans some kind of entertainment We owe them nothing. Well its not really their game. I used to work in the states and played alot of football when i was there. One thing i noticed was that in general the girls technically were alot better than the boys when we played. That's surprising. Why is that? I think its because the girls all play soccer when they are able to walk and they play all through school. Guys have baseball, basketball and american football to name a few. Soccer is way down the pecking order.

Yes or apart from the big fact that Celtic made it out of the group stage that is. No brainer to check facts before posting. What once-twice? Besides, not once have I said they never qualify for the knockouts..... just that their record tends to be getting dumped out in the group stages. The point being they're not there on merit but default. Course they are their on merit, they have to go through 2 or 3 qualifying rounds to get to the group stages.

No chance . He's valued at £10m . Lambert doesn't do expensive. He's a true Scot. Well hes the right age and has a grest attitude so ticks the boxes. I think we would pay 10-12 if the right player was available. Would have to ne special though which i think McCarthy is. Its an interesting point whether Lambert will come further up the leagues to find talent. Less of a gamble but will have to pay a premium. Well if hes following Dortmunds philosophy he will. They signed 1 or 2 at around that price. As i say if the special player is available i believe he will. Age/attitude then price

If we can get £8m for a 30 year old Bent, and get a £2-3m 25 year old replacement in Austin, then I would say its a good bit of business. both would be ineffective in our current system. I wouldnt compare Austin to Bent. Think they are different types of players. Be good business 2 mill for 23 year old and 6 for 29-30 year old Yep except we paid 24m for Bent so selling him for 6m isn't exactly good business in anyone's book unless we just forget about the other 18m. At this moment in time it would be exceptionally good business. And how do you know for a fact we paid 24 instead of 18?

When you mention Stearling at Liverpool, most of Liverpools contracts are performance based now. i.e. their wages increase to certain brackets when they meet certain targets and amount of games played. Skertel and Stearling both signed pefromance related contracts last summer. Could be something Villa employ here.

In regard to the new groundsman, you mean? Not quite. The story on the OS went something like, two blokes that were working under Calderwood and have been at the club for years are taking up his work, but splitting it - one is doing the pitch at VP, the other the pitches at BH. Yeah i guess the new groundsmen will just have to learn by trowel and error when he goes.

Going to Celtic apparently.. Apparently not..... He's still not decided.... Could be because we have come in for him? I hope so, from what i read he is a very good player. Havent seen him play though.

And for all those ones saying its snobery and only want to wear Nike or Addidas that not true either in my case. I still wear away at the Hummel- 32Red kit.

I'm refusing to buy a Macron Kit. It's like something you would buy in one of them markets in Thailand. Really cheap looking and poor quality. I'll be wearing the old Nike kit for the next 40 years.
