  1. Same with Jon Jones the UFC light heavyweight champion. His two brothers play in the NFL. Very true look at Ron and Dalian Atkinson
  2. It would bring his value down being on the front cover of that rubbish. Seriously last seasons review, i wouldnt pay 50p for it
  3. Hmm i'd be surprised if we got him for 10 mill TBH. Utd and Arsenal were watching him over the season so maybe he is going to them or something
  4. The brother has huge potential i believe Rumours are that he is going to be just as good if not better than the older bro as well
  5. Who needs a defence when you have a great forward line Kevin Keegan nearly won the league with this philosophy
  6. Still cant understand why we dont put a 10mill bid in for Victor Wanyama. He is what you need to play in our midfield. Good attitude, good age and the quality to go with it.
  7. Aresnal fans hate Barcelona for doing this. For a complete year all the Barac players where doing this when they met Fabregas. Nothing can be done about it. Real Madrid do the exact same things with players.
  8. Liverpool have already done what you are saying Villa have done. I have no idea how you can say Villa "are ahead of Liverpool" in any shape, way or form other than pure tribalism. All the overpaid dross is gone. Wages are down to 60% of turnover come next release of accounts. Johnson is the only player in the first team left who is on a contract bigger than he deserves/earns. Dalglish and Comolli who were the the big problem financially and signing players and getting it wrong are gone, a brand new scouting team has been robbed from Man City and there is a Committee approach to signings now with no one person having ultimate say over who is bought. The building of a more financially effcient team has started with two class buys in Sturridge and Coutinho who cost less than Downing combined. Liverpool will get permission to finally start expansion of Anfield by end of Summer. All the debt we have is owed to our owners (£80m when it used to be £240m) who have promised they will not take money from the club to be repaid they hope to get it back when they sell the club. Still a lonngggg way to go for Liverpool, but lets get our facts right, everything off the field at Liverpool is better than its been for a long, long time. The challenge now is replicating the superb work that's been done by the Executives, on the football side of things, which is going to be so hard when Arsenal, City, Utd, Chelsea all have bigger revenues to spend and Spurs have built up a great side that they seem to manage to keep going strong fighting for 4th, even when losing their best players like Modric and VDV. There's been a big gamble made on 1) Brendan Rodger's being the right man for the job and 2) Trying to copy a Spurs-like strategy of investing in top scouts to find affordable, potential world class players, before the bigger clubs get on to them, and having these players fulfil their potential with you, before being swiped by the bigger clubs. Signings such as Alonso, Mascherano, Suarez and now potentially Coutinho. If this gamble works then it will pay of massivley on and off the field, if it does not, then Liverpool may end up stuck outside the top 4 for a generation. At least Villa fans are realists more from what i can say for pool fans. In my reckoning you need at least 3 world class players to push for top 4 min. If Suarez goes, which looks likely, how many World class players have you got?
  9. It can cause problems if you offer 1 player much bigger wages than the others. It can but thats football. You get paid for your ability, unless of course MON is manager. All clubs have players on diiferent wages.
  10. I really think their chairman meant to say Arsenal
  11. With all these 60-80k a week players leaving the club we might have the ability to offer 1 player this wage coming in if they made a massive difference
  12. He won't go there. It's only June 5th so far he's been favourite to go to arsenal then spurs then city then athletico Madrid now liverpool I'm sure it will be PSG next week lets just see what happens there's a lot of ifs and buts There's a lot of ifs and buts, but there's also a lot of crap flying around. We know very little so far, everything that has come out so far isn't news, it's just typical tabloid horseshit that's been pulled out of their collective arses. He could leave, but it's far far far from nailed on, don't know why people are freaking out. . Yes most of the stuff being said is media BS to sell papers. But i can guarantee you that Liverpool have made an enquiry regards Bentekke to Villa. That’s all I know for definite.
  13. I can 100% confirm Liverpool have made an enquiry. But its just an enquiry. What that enquiry entailed, i don’ t know. Probably are we willing to sell and what the fee is. I know not much to go on, but the rumors are true on contact from them.
  14. In years gone past we had to wait to end of the window to make signings. Reason being we were always going for experienced prem players and had to wait to get best possible price. Now we are going for less expensive players and we can afford to pay 2-300k extra instead of the 2-3 million extra in years past to buy early. On top of that Lambert will want less experienced players in early to have an extra 3 months over the summer to work with them. The exception to this was last year as Lambert had to take time to figure out what he needed and then scout them when he came in
  15. Right there is a thread for Bannan. Mods do your job and keep it off this thread as im sick of it
  16. Best post of the thread. All the same im glad he didnt pay 10 million for Bennett
  17. Pescara winger Vladimir Weiss is on the radar of Swansea and Aston Villa Twitter bs i know but its a bit random. Something to discuss at least
  18. If i was him i would go to Villa and its nothing to do with who is bigger club or what league they play in. Its because the celtic manager Lennon has been touting himself out to prem clubs every chance he gets over the past 2-3 weeks. Would any player want to go to a club when the manager might get up and leave the next day?
  19. A friendly with Celtic? Dear god no. Lets just send the money to Stan instead. But it will be a bigger game for them than anything they will play in the league that season we got to give their fans some kind of entertainment We owe them nothing. I certainly don't want them at Villa park. While I feel sorry for the decent Scottish clubs up there who have to endure them , happily we don't. By the sounds of your posts your a closet Rangers fan.
  20. Well its not really their game. I used to work in the states and played alot of football when i was there. One thing i noticed was that in general the girls technically were alot better than the boys when we played. That's surprising. Why is that? I think its because the girls all play soccer when they are able to walk and they play all through school. Guys have baseball, basketball and american football to name a few. Soccer is way down the pecking order.

  22. Yes or apart from the big fact that Celtic made it out of the group stage that is. No brainer to check facts before posting. What once-twice? Besides, not once have I said they never qualify for the knockouts..... just that their record tends to be getting dumped out in the group stages. The point being they're not there on merit but default. Course they are their on merit, they have to go through 2 or 3 qualifying rounds to get to the group stages.
