Marseille shirts have been pretty hit or miss through the years. Some have been nearly iconic and others have been junk. The best have been neat and distinctive (including the one above from just a year or two ago). But this one, I can't tell what they're trying to do. It's neither neat nor distinctive. It's just kind of clumsy and muddled.

St. Pauli are my club in Germany. They never win anything but occasionally I get to watch them on the television at 7:30AM. What can you do to spice up a white kit? Write "No football for fascists" on it and put it on a two-metre tall tattooed Danish man in sandals sitting next to a Samoyed. Nice.

I didn't notice it until you mentioned it. The 'Fly Emirates' logo would have sat better in that respect.

$50 at TJMaxx! Everything is cheap in America if you wait until it hits the discount department stores. I just bought a USA kit with the Vaporknit for $30 and the detailing is quite nice. And I'm on the smaller side (Nike S), so the player versions fit me better. Still don't know what I am in Kappa, though. Probably XXL or something.

The Jordan stuff is especially nice. The detailing in the Vaporknit or whatever they call their tech fabric is impressive up close. I liked this one so much I bought it for a friend who supports them.

I think this Vélez Sarsfield kit is really smart. I've seen a lot of designers try to pull off the gradient stripes look lately, but this is the first time I think I've ever seen it look integrated like this.

I just read the article. Pirlo said McKennie has become more professional — that they'd had to work on his weight when he arrived and how he's made improvements to address that.

I've heard conflicting reports about his weight. He's always had some meat on his bones but has spoken in interviews about how he's consulted with physios and trainers who've determined that he performs better at a certain weight than when he goes below it. Perhaps it's a bit of a delicate balance. But I certainly can't fault his effort on the pitch, where he'll chase a player fifty yards to make a tackle. I can't speak to Pirlo's comment, though. He obviously knows more than I do. Maybe he's trying to motivate him. Maybe he's genuinely being critical.
