  1. I have a longsleeve player-issue 2008/09 Nike Villa home shirt without a sponsor. It figures that was when we had acorns, which is one of the few sponsors I would want. I still love the kit, though.
  2. Thrilled for Emí! What a match.
  3. I'm not shocked that somebody designed that—I'm shocked that nobody put a stop to it.
  4. That's fair. I have a feeling it'll look good on the pitch, where you can't see the detailing. Depending on the shorts...
  5. I actually like it—although I'm not a fan of the buttoned-all-the-way-to-the-top look on collared shirts. Always one button unfastened unless you're wearing a tie.
  6. I wonder if Higuain will be a good or bad influence, though. He's openly admitted he came into MLS expecting it to be a cakewalk and wasn't prepared for the level of play and he's recently been left out of the squad due to lack of fitness. But yeah, I think it may be good for Vassilev. I don't honestly see him coming back. I think a transfer for a nominal fee makes sense for all parties.
  7. No, we all love the Grenadines!
  8. And that's the most frustrating part! I want to like her! When I want to like someone, I can almost always find something in there to grab onto. But nope. She's got no edge, nothing...there's no pulse to it, no substance, nothing pithy. It's just noodling.
  9. Not only is she absolutely adorable, she's an incredibly talented, creative musician...which makes me think I should enjoy her music—but nope, there's absolutely nothing in there for me. Every time she comes out with a new album, I think to myself, "Oh, well maybe she's stumbled upon something I like this time." But not yet. Not yet.
  10. RB Leipzig are set to sign André Silva from Eintracht Frankfurt and Lille to appoint Claudio Ranieri. Those are both interesting moves. Leipzig are picking up their first high-scoring striker since Timo Werner's departure and Lilli are appointing a manager they're going to hope will be able to keep them at the top despite some high-profile departures.
  11. I think it was built into his NYRB contract, but having Marsch there will certainly be a plus for him. My guess is he'll spend at least six months getting acclimated before he starts making gameday squads, but I'd love to be wrong. I think he's got a really high bar of potential.
  12. The one I have is this without the shoulder stripe and I like it. They've done hoops, they've done checks, they've done green, they've done halves. I think Nike is kind of throwing templates at them rather than giving them special attention. My shirt and shorts both have iron on badges that have both started to disintegrate.
  13. I used to live in Haifa, so Maccabi Haifa are the only club I've followed that I've ever been able to watch in person (except for the currently-on-hiatus Rochester Rhinos who just became the pet project of Jamie Vardy). I have a Maccabi Haifa shirt that looks just like the white half of this one that I like very much, but I'm not entirely convinced by the halfsies look.
  14. I guess I just like a nice, simple, clean kit. I think both of these are lovely. I've heard all sorts of negative things about Castore's quality control, but their designs are just marvellous. I'd be curious to see what Umbro or Castore would come up with for a Villa kit.
  15. I'm pretty high on the kid, but even I'm surprised he leapfrogged Red Bull Salzburg and went straight to Leipzig. I wonder if it has any implications for Brenden Aaronson and his future.
  16. The Peru shirt!? What, are you from Ecuador? It's objectively beautiful!
  17. Without the shoulder striping, I'd be quite happy with that shirt. I'm not one of those people who automatically thinks "West Ham" when you throw a little white in there.
  18. They should've gone with Disco Stu.
