I'm not too convinced but I wouldn't say its because the situation the clubs in. I can't say I'm convinced senderos or Richardson are that much better than what we have or if Cole is capable of performing enough at premier league level still. I'm concerned we're just creating more squad issues for whoever eventually buys the club to sort out.

You see it as a snap judgement. Maybe those unhappy with our transfers have actually thought about it and judged players on what they've seen of those players.

Senderos as a regular starter upsets me.

I can't see us signing him for anything other than lb. The decision to bring Bertrand in on loan shows what the manager thinks about Luna and Bennet.

I don't think he played in defence though. He played in midfield. Fulham fans seem to rate him but looking on the Sunderland board they seem to think he's really dreadful. I guess we just have to make up our own minds. I've got a feeling he'll help us to have a steadyish season. Who scored are usually pretty reliable and they had him down for 18 games as a lb

To be fair to Sean I don't think playing well in a tournament proves you are top class. Was baros? Poborksy? I'm sure there's plenty of other examples. I think vlaar has been superb this world cup and showed moments of quality last season. I don't think he's as poor as a some but I also don't think he's as good as he's managed to perform this world cup. An important player for us though.

Yep According to that site he also played 18 times at lb. So I think its fair to question his ability in that position given he played virtually half a season as part of the worst defence in the league.

He can't defend and was a key member of the worst defence in the division last season. He only looked decent the few times he was played further forward. There is a core of people making up shoddy facts the last couple of days. Richardson, according to Wikipedia played twelve times last season, so in what way was he a Key member of the worst defence? I presume he was injured to have played so little, but regardless the point remains...you're making things up. If you consider that he also played further forwards then maybe he had ten games in defence last season? At a guess. All this doesn't give me much faith in your opinion, or that you're not just another one on a mission to moan about everything. We have no money. We need experience, so that's what we're getting. Who's to say he's being signed as a left back anyway? Maybe he's Tonev's replacement in the squad? Or being signed as a wingback? I think you need to check your facts before having a go at others.

Well we're a shambles right now so this is the level we're at. I'm not going to praise it because frankly I'm fed up of signing average players but this is the situation our owner has forced on us. Just accept the shit till we can finally get rid of him.

Seriously doubt it. If we sell Vlaar I expect the money we get from the sale will go towards his replacement. Not sure what we'd be able to get though. No good player will want to come to us at the moment.

Not from a playing point of view. It is from a contract negotiation point of view. Vlaar will see this World Cup as his ticket to one final big contract (and why not?) but any club coming in for him won't want to pay too much because of his resale value in 4 years time, and that is even before you stop to consider he only has 12 months left on his deal. Whatever happens, Vlaar's agent is going to earn his money this summer. Yeah that was my point mentioning his age.

With his age and 12 months left I can't see us getting more than 6 or 7 million for him.

Perhaps it's a condition of sale. No top class CEO, no sale Unlikely, but you never know If new owners wanted a top CEO wouldn't it be better for them to approach them? He wants rid, thats why. But surely new owners will get the CEO they want. Can't see them asking Lerner to do the chatting for them. Makes no sense

Pretty gutted to be honest. Can't see us signing better than him this summer.
