  1. I like your line of thought, but seriously - why couldn't he play a role in a team playing a different style or formation at PL level? He seems to be more rated by fans than by managers, though, to be fair
  2. Gil and Adama would have suiters, I believe
  3. Gil could be suited to a team like Everton, Swansea, Leicester - I think he'd have offers if he can't get a starting place this season
  4. That would require a 25 point gap to 17th. Currently it's 8 points after 16 games = 0,5 per game. At the current (horrible) rate it would still not be before Bournemouth in round 33.
  5. Statto odds down to 5,7, though. Don't think it'll be settled before Burnley.
  6. "Real" odds of going down are 1:11, so if you're pessimistic that's still a real chance. If you're bipolar feel free to be what you feel like. I'm rather optimistic
  7. These numbers differ quite a bit from the Statto odds - usually they correlate much better. I wonder where the models differ? - Statto is based on the last 50 games played on a rolling average, as I understand it.
  8. Well, their starting point is much better than the teams I predict to go down, and (to me) their remaining games seems more likely to win or draw. And vs. Villa they have a game in hand, which except for a big loss would always be an advantage. My guess would be that we have a 1/4 chance of going down, whilst Sunderland would be 1/5.
  9. You should put money on that - extremely unlikely I dont think Paddy Power take such specific bets but I still think Hull are doomed, their fixtures are like Norwich last season I think Hull are likely to go down too. Leicester and QPR will most likely be their companions. But Sunderland is currently not - and I don't see why they should be. That could very well change, but as things stand I can't see them going down. As for the gap between relegated teams and 17th 6 points seems big margin as I see it - and not very likely
  10. You should put money on that - extremely unlikely
  11. Not out of it - but with 3 winnable home games and 2 good chances of away draws. I'd swap with their position any day. We've got three winnable home games and there's nothing to say we can't get anything from Southampton and Tottenham away. Plus we have the advantage of not having Arsenal and Chelsea away for our last two games of the season. I'm not sure if i'd swap. They've also got a game in hand, so I'd still swap. Arsenal and Chelsea could both be on the beach when they play them - probably will be, actually, so not the worst time to play them.

  13. Newcastle are out of it - agree completely. WBA should be getting at least 2-3 points, so will be safe too (unfortunately) Sunderland IMO could get more than 7 points from those fixtures - 4 of those opponents could potentially be on the beach when they play them. I'd say about 20% chance of them going down atm. It's 3 out of Villa, Burnley, Hull, QPR and Leicester as I see it, and of those Villa should be slight favourites for nicking 16th. Playing Burnley last could be diabolic, though.
  14. Even in my most optimistic dreams I can't see us needing nothing from the Burnley game. We will have to play for the 3 points anyway, as setting up for a draw will be too risky. Prescriptions of sedatives will soar in May
  15. 33 points could probably be enough, but due to our GD I think 34 is the mark we need to hit. Two wins should easily be enough - a win a two draws perhaps more likely. I can see us getting that.
  16. 35 kept you up last season - I think even 34 may be enough......but where oh where are those wins coming from ? 34 - or 33 on GD, I reckon
  17. The sky seems brighter today. The girls seems prettier, the beer is cooler, food tastes better. Something good must have happened.
  18. It's getting closer to a 4 horse race with Burnley, QPR and Leicester. The 3 games against WBA and the first 2 are key, as 32 point probably will be enough this year.
  19. Well, statistically this weekends results actually improved the chances of staying up. According to Statto 32 points should be enough, with Villa just making it by a point.
  20. I very much agree that 34 points probably will be enough to stay up this year. The last part of your post makes sense, but would leave the decider until the last day of the season, which would be hard to stomach...
  21. As lttle as 11 could be enough. 7 from Stoke, WBA, Sunderland and Swansea would be a good start. Burnley and QPR opportunities for another 6 - plus the odd draw in the remaining games.
  22. I know it's a different style of play, but a certain West Ham player has looked useful this season...
