Good point, NV. When Churchill talked about Russia being a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma, we should check he wasn't talking about the Villa. SB's points-per-game ratio is worse this season (with more of his players) than last.

His signings haven't been too bad, IMO. Predictable (no anonymous gems), but alright. My problem is he can't put a team together with a coherent plan to win a football match. When he was signing these players, I was thinking, how will they fit into the plan? As time went on, I realised that signing a bunch of players was the plan.

Rob, something about this doesn't smell right. You're a good guy (and always have been in my time here) so you're cool. The spelling errors and grammar raise red flags. Given you know lapal fan, you probably know a few 'lively' characters so a wind up was my first thought. I agree with NV - approach it from the POV of a wind up.

I think it's creepy and crosses a line. I notice how you're invited to a compulsory meeting. Not much of an invite, more of a command. I'm very surprised. I think you're being treated badly.

In absolute terms, you're right Trent. Worth remembering that AML was trying to keep a ramshackle squad in the Prem. In relative terms, it probably is. SB has had it so much easier. We are 'Champions League' in the Championship and some of the SB setups remind me of the mission AML was on. To be fair. AML was snookered. SB really has no excuse. I don't know if you agree, but some of the defending I saw last year from some opponents was shocking, and not just at the bottom. This squad of players should be picking up all the points against these kind of teams.

Davis was dragging people out of position by tracking back and finding space and thus opening space for those behind him. As you say, far more than Gabby would have done.

He's 19. I agree that he's missed a few. But again, he's young. There's something about him that I see in Hourihane - moving into the right space at the right time, reading what's in front of him well. He's definitely got the talent to make his mark in this team. Just needs to keep working. He has something, like Davis, I haven't really seen in the majority of our youth players. I feel he can be an important player for the club if he keeps working to progress.
