may not be the same sensation but when I had the laser surgery on the old eyes , they cut the lens of your eye and peel it back and you are temporarily unable to see ... so for about 30 seconds you could hear people talking ,you could sense them moving and I could smell the burning of the laser but all i saw was just pure white nothingness .. i don't know why i just imagined everything would go black but nope pure white ..maybe that is what it is like for a blind person ?

My theory on wheat prices is that it's being used in biofuels and that is driving up demand / price but the debate on the radio today said it had increased in price by 72% in the past year or so then another caller reckoned it has actually dropped by £30 a tonne and that we were being taken for fools thing is I could have sworn for years the EU had a wheat surplus and even paid farmers NOT to produce any for a while !!

Don't think it's covered elsewhere but this a thread for those simple things that you've often thought about ( suppose it could have been the Ask BOF anything thread but he appears to have turned into Wenger and can't see it ) Anyway my question is : When I go visit my nan at her care home they often have group sessions where they all sit around and sing songs .. they are always singing "Roll out the barrels" and "Get Me to the Church on Time" etc so I wondered .... When I'm 80+ and in a care home will my group music sessions involve sitting around an out of tune piano singing Nirvana and Oasis songs with my fellow inmates .. or is Get me to the church a timeless classic that I need to start learning when I'm 79 ?

he got a ride in a Rolls Royce with Shanghai's richest man so unless you wear white pop socks and pigtails you may not experience that but everything else he did was pretty much doable

Andrew Marrs Megacities was quite interesting ... the flat in Tokyo he stayed at was just bonkers and Shanghai seems to be another step towards China losing its soul ... fair play to him for spending the night in one of the slums in Dhakka ( assuming he stayed all night )
