  1. tbf he ran Clark ragged for the first 30 mins but Clark to his credit adapted well and shut down the threat
  2. David Cameron is a horrible corrupt little man, hopefully this has shown the Tory supporters what type of people they actually support. These events really aren't anything to do with Cameron who wasn't in office at the time ... (nor are they anything to do with the previous government for that matter ) , and it was quite shameful to see Milliband using Milly Dowler to try and score points yesterday (though if it comes to light NoTW were hacking David Kellys phone then someone will be in a shit load of trouble ) Out of interest do you have details of Camerons involvement in the hacking or some corruption he is involved in ,like i don't know maybe selling peerages for donations or failing to register agreements to accept regular donations from trades unions etc etc ?
  3. indeed and suddenly someone did wonder if Tom Baldwin is worried at the moment ?
  4. you really think it's just pure coincidence ? maybe I just read too many conspiracy websites :-) I thought that was precisely why he was honey trapped into opening his rather self important gob and then removed when he did ?
  5. the wider picture of me is that it's coming to light now at a time to derail the BSkyB takeover .. it kinda suggest the info has been known for some time and is now being used for political gain ... wonder who is behind it all
  6. this the cynic in me says they already know what this next big deflection story is as well ....
  7. Yeah thats true enough I assumed the private eyes were finding out the phone numbers for them ? Celebs I can understand they may already know how to contact but I doubt Milly Dowling's phone number was public knowledge ? Be interesting to find out if their are insiders at the phone providers taking a bung though
  8. I read somewhere , that some geek found the hack back in the 90's and went to the NoTW with it so they could expose it .... Needless to say they acted on his info in ways he didn't imagine
  9. to some extent that would be the more interesting figure to see .... advertisers come and go , chances are Ford etc will bail out until the next thing for twitters to get outraged about comes along and then they will be back advertising in the NOTW again ... but if sales figures drop and don't come back then that is more likely to prevent advertisers returning do they release weekly sales figures for papers anywhere to see what happens this weekend ?
  10. or possibly the advert on the page opposite the hacking scandal story will ensure maximum exposure for a company ? (assuming NOTW at least run something about it , which I'm sure they will have to)
  11. it's harder than it appears nowadays though isn't it , I wont buy French goods for example , wont eat French Golden Delicious apples or French Mustard ..needless to say I don't drink wine of any variety but if I did I wouldn't drink French wine .. ..sadly i think my electricity provider is French owned so I can't totally boycott them
  12. out of curiosity are the "Boycotting Murdoch" people reserving it purely for the NOTW and Sky sports or extending it to 20th Century Fox and Harper Collins etc will you be doing turning off the TV whenever one of their films come on , walking out the cinema etc ?
  13. support of murdoch dressed up as faux support of the syrians - or just a wind up you'd know from my posts on here that I am very fond of Syria so it's neither .... you seem to have missed the point of what I was trying to say or are just on a wind up :winkold:
  14. internet bandwagons are well and good but can't people be outraged enough for themselves without having to be coerced into joining something ..it's shades of Stephen Fry or Jon Woss all over again and everything that is wrong with twitter (and to a small degree society today , ) and if you really must do it , well I'd rather this much effort and energy was going into twitters around the Uk to stop the killing in Syria to be honest ....

    Do you read?

will have to check the authors name when i get home , it does refer to some events that are in the Emperor books i.e when he demands the pirates increase the bounty on his head appears to be true , but doesn't the Emperor books have Marius being killed in Rome by Sulla when he actually died of old age ? (been a few years since i read the Emperor series) as Mike says a lot of the "history" of that day was propaganda , Ramesses II being a prime example , he almost makes Caesar look modest :-)
  16. See if you can guess what this advert is for Nope , I didn't guess correctly either
  17. aye that's fair enough , i withdraw my objection ....
  18. my point in raising it was more on the lines that we couldn't comment on say Ashley Youngs postponed wedding and yet we can comment without any evidence whatsoever that Murdoch is on the act with the phone taping.... I thought for something as big as this that there would be a lot more of the word "allegedly" being used .... Interestingly , Hugh Grant ( yes that Hugh Grant) actually bugged an Ex NOTW reporter ( Paul McMullan) and amongst other things this "opinion" was offered More here
  19. as the title is Murdoch Scum , could someone point me to the link for the evidence that Murdoch gave the order for this vile act or even had any awareness that it was going on ...
  20. Ummm... This is the first vote on McLeish so I'm not sure what vote you are "keeping". my No vote as in I didn't want him ... He wasn't appointed on a vote, though. yes he was ..Randy voted for him and he got the job

    Do you read?

Yes and No I enjoyed that series as well (and the Khan Series) and at some point i will end up reading it again .... but I read a Caesar biog after I'd finished Emperor to see how much basis in truth they actually had and really there is far too much artistic license in use in that series ..now I know it doesn't claim to be a true version of events but I always get worried when you end up with a "Hollywood'ised" version of history in the mainstream as it often ends up being accepted as fact rather than fiction ... guess Da Vinci code could be used as a prime example of fiction being accepted as fact by lots of people

    Do you read?

just re-read Resurrection Day by Brendan DuBois ( i read it about 11 years ago and just found it in a box in the loft) a sort of Fatherland but based on events around the Cuban Missile crises , starts a bit slowly but once it gets going it had me reading through until about 5am a couple of nights running so I could finish it ... lot of Meh reviews on Amazon for this book but i enjoyed it probably cause of my JFK "fixation "
  24. It would suggest that 62 % of villa talk are barking mad :winkold: I voted No , Didn't want him and as he's done bugger all ( due to holidays and what not) since he's been here so no option but to keep the same No vote Next month assuming he's sold Dunne & Ireland he may even get a yes from me
  25. well that's his first mistake as Villa manager
