  1. I spent £80 on 2 tickets to watch Man Shitty v Villa. Christ. Not spending a penny (so to speak) for a very VERY looooooong time on football.
  2. I have. What's the point if it's not enjoyable? Some people might say, "where's your loyalty? You're supposed to stick with it through thick and thin". That's bollocks though. There's no doubt I've shown enough blind loyalty over the years to earn myself a disability parking badge. Tell me this; if you were watching a shit film, would you walk out? And if the person who made that film kept making crap film after crap film with no respect for the people that go and watch, would you still carry on turning up to watch? Of course you wouldn't. I'm not being taken for granted anymore.
  3. What does he have to offer exactly? Why do so many people say this? Efan Ekoku was commenting during the game that he can give Villa a more direct option and win free kicks. Football isn't primarily a territorial game, it's not rugby. His cons far far far outweigh the 'pros' that have not been seen in over five years. Unfortunately now we are a mid table team he isn't the only one. Though he is the definitely one of, if not the worst. Gutted.
  4. He's the worst I've ever seen him. Easily.
  5. For the first time in all the twenty years I have been supporting Aston Villa I have switched off the game due to complete absence of interest. Why on earth would I want to watch a team in such a dire state that only plays one recognised midfielder and plays ALL their attacks through an out of position Emile Heskey. The inevitability of Tottenham's first goal gave my brain a very dull ache (that has been building up since Downing changed his mind about wanting to stay probably). They had 81% possession in the first 20 minutes. It was all capped off when £24m Darren Bent chested the ball in the area and just left it assuming he was offside. NOTHING about supporting this club and more importantly this sport is fun anymore.
  6. Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey open to Leicester City return The former Liverpool forward made 197 appearances after making his breakthrough with the Foxes and has spoken of his desire to play there again toward the end of his career Aston Villa forward Emile Heskey has hinted he would be open to a return to former club Leicester City. The 33-year-old was born and raised in the city and made his name with the Foxes as a young striker during their spell in the Premier League. Heskey told the Leicester Mercury: "Hypothetically, I would love to come back, so never say never - but my current loyalty obviously remains to Villa. "Because I was born and raised in Leicester, and my family still live there, and it is the club where everything started for me, I can't say I will never go back. "Who knows where football will take me. We will have to just wait and see, but I can't rule it out." The former England international also went on to defend the recently sacked Sven-Goran Eriksson sympathising with the task facing managers in living up to the successes of Martin O'Neill. "I was a little bit sad to see Sven sacked, but after Martin O'Neill left it was always going to be difficult for the next few managers. "In five years, O'Neill went to Wembley four times - one play-off final and three cups finals - plus we finished in the top half of the Premier League every time. "Martin's legacy still lives on, so the guys who follow him have an uphill task." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shall I put the champagne on ice?
  7. i have suggested Joe Lewis in a thread before! I think he is class and would be a perfect understudy to Given. Given is still class and still playing brilliantly for his country. Plus we'd be saving £6/7m odd compared to buying Foster which could go elsewhere.
  8. Ha ha and it still says 0%. Even maths doesn't want him here.
  9. Still, if (and when hopefully) he goes, we'll get £65k a week slashed off of our wage bill. yum yum yes please eh.
  10. Although Moyes is definitely my favourite, maybe having a foreign coach will make a refreshing and much needed change? Before Houllier, we've been going british since I can remember. This resulted in over expensive UK based transfers and some dodgy foreign signings.
  11. It has to be Moyes for me. Think about what he could do with a little cash plus I really can't see any of the top 6 going in for him ever so I think Villa (who I consider to be on par with Everton give or take) are his best opportunity for getting somewhere. I remember a few years ago when people were touting him to succeed Fergie but it looks like he's staying another 3 years now. I really don't get the fuss about Hughes. Got a good mate who's a Rovers fan and although he was gutted he left he was saying Hughes can only get clubs to a certain level and then doesn't really push on from there. Would be gutted if he came here to be honest. I know Houllier has taken a lot of criticism and rightly so on occasions but I think he can attract better players than most to the club. So I think it's vital we keep him in some sort of capacity. Dunno if he'd agree though.
