    2007. 13 losses in a row in the Premier League. 8 of them we didnt score in. In that time we also lost an FA Cup tie, also with scoring. We did win a League Cup tie there in 2012 against a second XI. For what it's worth.

    You can say that about every England team/manager in history. England squads have failed spectacularly in past years. Group stage exits, limp knockout exits. Southgate hasnt won anything obviously but his record in tournaments is light years ahead of everyone outside of Alf Ramsey. People overrate this England squad. The defence and goalkeeper are ok, that's it. For all the talk about the attacking options and world class players England have, yeah so do other teams, and more of them.

    Even though he's done a good job. And he has, people saying otherwise are living in a dreamworld with a clear agenda. But having said that, I cant stand the man. Even ignoring his Villa hatred, his banal interviews, company man persona and his charisma vacuum personality make him impossible to like.

    Cash was excellent today. The run when he skinned the defender and put a cross in was superb. He looked furious that no-one was offering themselves and I agreed with him.

    Our defensive coach, or whoever it is in charge of defence of set pieces/crosses needs to be sacked. All season long we have been an aberration on this front.

    My philosophy on players who have had a serious injury is basically to write them off. I dont mean that they'll never come good. I mean that anything more than nothing is a bonus. We have no idea if he'll be the same player, whether he fits in with Emery's plans, whether he will stay fit. There is so much murkiness to it. Obviously I hope he comes back better but banking on him to do anything or saying what he will do when he's back is at best, complete guesswork, at worst, total nonsense. We have no idea and wont any idea until he's back and fit. Whenever that will be.

    He actually doesnt. Ollie has him just beaten. Regardless, that just proves that stats mean nothing compared to the eye test. That Vellios for Everton had a similar great goals to minutes ratio for Everton a few years back when he was coming on for cameos at the end of games. It's deceptive when you're not playing 90 minutes each week. He can score great goals but his finishing is very poor. This isnt based just on tonight of course. Poor finishers arent prolific. He can improve of course but generally, you either have it or you dont.
