  1. The Scotland game was terrible but any team can have a bad day at the office. Frankly it’s ancient history. There's no point talking about what could happen, all we can do is talk about what did happen. What happened last night was just about as perfect as it could get for England. An easy win, Kane amongst the goals, no injuries, star players subbed and rested early, another clean sheet. All of this will mean nothing if they lose to Denmark but as of right now, Southgate’s decision have been dead right.
  2. Just because Jack is a better player than Mount, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t right to start him. It genuinely amazes me that despite England winning 4-0 with ease, some people in here still aren’t getting this point. Southgate picks the team based on the opposition and he’s got it dead right all the way through so far. Fans are mostly idiots and shouldn’t be listened too, they were calling for Kane to be dropped after the first two games.
  3. Sorry what? Yeah England should go back to just playing the 11 best players and not pick cohesive teams for different opposition. Lampard and Gerrard with Scholes on the wing. That worked out so well.
  4. Totally insane. If another clubs fan base was talking like some in here we’d be rightly taking the piss out of them. It’s embarrassing really.
  5. This is a crazy viewpoint. When a player represents their national team, who pays their wages means absolutely nothing. If Grealish scores the winner in the final, it isnt a victory for Aston Villa, it's a victory for England. It's no different to West Ham fans trying to say they "won the World Cup". It's cringey and small time.
  6. The only people who care that Jack didnt play tonight are Villa fans. No other England fan gives two shits. As above said, results are all that matters.
  7. I genuinely didnt realise there was that many cultists on here. England are having one of their most convincing tournament wins of all time and people are still trying to claim some kind of moral victory. As for the "Sky 6" comment, a line so childish that it would make a 14 year old blush.
  8. You honestly think that Southgate wants to start Grealish but doesnt because he thinks "no way, he plays for Aston Villa, he cant be that good". If you actually believe that then I've got some magic beans to sell you.
  9. Nonsense. TAA couldnt get into the team. Rashford doesnt start. Foden has barely played. Amongst others.
  10. Its irrelevant. All that matters to Southgate is that England win games. He will use whoever, however he feels that will give the team the best chance of winning. It really is that simple. He feels that Grealish is better utilised as a sub and that may never change but he wont care if they keep winning. I'm no Southgate fan at all but his reasoning makes sense. Of course he's one bad result from it blowing up in his face but when is that not the case for an England manager?
  11. I'm confused by peoples confusion. Southgate uses him as a match winning sub. He feels like his impact is better for 30 minutes or so at the end of games. Grealish changing the game against Germany didnt mean that he would start this, it merely reaffirmed Southgate's decision in his mind. You may not agree with the decision but I don't understand why people are surprised that he isnt staring this game. If he does the same again today he still wont start in the semi.
  12. What are you talking about? 1 billion could literally but an entire squad of the best players in the world.
  13. Then they leave if they pay the right price, just like, you know, every star player we've ever had who got offers. By "fight" you mean what exactly? Offer half the wages they can get elsewhere? Or promise them European football we don't have? You need to remember we're a midtable Premier League club two seasons removed from the Championship.
  14. Keeping a player who wants to leave against his will never works out for the club or the player. Every club's fans do this same pointless hardball routine everytime a player they don't want to leave is involved in transfer speculation. It always ends the same way. If he wants to leave, the club shouldn't stand in his way, they should just focus on getting the right price.
  15. If he goes, he goes. He doesnt owe us a thing. He's given more than enough and stayed longer that we thought he ever would. That said, what concerns me is if we get the £100m number that is floating around, I worry how we will spend it. Not just the personnel but the inflated prices we'll have to pay to get them with clubs knowing we have the cash. Look at the rubbish Spurs bought when they sold Bale or how Everton wasted the Lukaku money. That's more concerning that losing the actual player.
  16. Southgate is an absolute buffoon. He's made the right decision (although had Mount been available, you wonder if Jack would be starting) but he's going to get more abuse after this game and rightly so. England are probably the only international team in world football where Grealish wouldn't be the first name on the teamsheet.
  17. It's pretty simple for me, if we start next season with the same dross we've seen in the last two months then he has to go otherwise we could get relegated. I can almost look the other way this season as we were comfortably safe, without Jack and no doubt we've been on the beach for weeks. However next season there will be no such excuses.
