  1. Let's just hope we're not relegated by them....the irony......
  2. Dream on. He disrespected the club and the fans from day one and his comments were so contradictory it was laughable. Those lazy ones you refer to such as Dunne and Warnock have arguably been 2 of our better performers this season. Houllier was a footballing dinosaur and for you to call loyal season ticket holders who stumped up hard earned cash year on year morons because they didn't buy into his outdated philosophy is nothing short of appalling. The morons I tag as those who seemingly don't want any manager including MON. Every club have them, even us. I wouldn't go as far to say those who didn't want Houllier are morons, but I would say they lack footballing knowledge most certainly. How very condescending of you
  3. I'd take a winning team without Gabby over a mediocre team with Gabby :winkold: Was that the team that won the last 2 games without Houllier pitch side? Or are you referring to the losing team that was perilously close to relegation when he was pitch side?

  5. Are you for real? The point stands. To say in DEC you wont renew due to 'the football' is idiotic. Yes we're a third of the way into the season and it's absolutely dire. Tell me why you think it will get better given his track record? 4th place and win the FA Cup - welcome back General.....
  6. His quality has never been in doubt for me, i wish others would judge him on his current form rather than what happened last season. A lot of what was written about him appeared to be largely based on rumour and hearsay. Unlike some he's rarely resorted to the hoof ball although he's still prone to the odd mistake.
  7. I would hope McCleish is already out by then if things don't start to dramatically improve. Sadly that's too much to hope for.
  8. For me he's drinking in the last chance saloon however I'd like to see Lerner stay. I think he's done more positive things than bad so I'll give him the benefit of doubt and point the finger at those who are advising him ie Faulkner. I can't see anyone buying us in the near future so I think he's here for the short/medium term but I'd have a little more optimism if Faulkner and McLeish were handed their P45's.
  9. I'm all up for the non renewal of season tickets as a genuine expression of concern. I travel with three other season ticket holders and on the way up to the game we had all pretty much decided not to renew if McLeish is still in charge next season. I will admit when I saw the team sheet I had a little flicker of hope, but the performance was the same old same old and we left in the same opinion as we arrived. I don't think I would watch this team on the TV never mind pay for a season ticket. I've had a season ticket for some 25 years and we have all been going as a group for the whole time so this is not a decision taken lightly. We have decided that we would be better just going out for a meal and a drink and rely on each others company for the entertainment. Pretty much sums it all up fro me. After 40 years of being a season ticket holder, i won't renew my 3 tickets if McLeish and Faulkner are anywhere near VP next season.
  10. Absolute dog poo today. Time to go but Lerner hasn't got the balls to do it. Worst football I've seen since Billy McNeill or Graham Taylor's second stint.

  12. Very true. Given the word from the club at the time of the appointment/before the season that we were still aiming to reduce the wage bill and hence meet the forthcoming UEFA wages/revenue guidelines etc, this really is baffling from Faulkner. Can't make up my mind as to whether he is extremely naive and thinks his statement will appease some of our support or is simply an absolute moron who has no idea what is going on. The latter.......
  13. Says a lot when he can't even get a start for Wales.....
  14. Step forward Mr Ridgewell.... Hutton was truly dire, as was Collins. Warnock done ok for me, at least positionally he knows where to play which is something Collins and Hutton can't be accused of. My sunday team are better defensively than those 2. I hope when I rock up on sunday those 2 aren't amongst the team sheet.
  15. I might get my former boss to send a glowing report to Randy about my management skills as this clearly seems to be Lerner's top selection criteria.
  16. But do you trust his ability in the transfer market? I was willing to give him a chance but Hutton is truly dreadful and his continued selection of Collins ahead of Clark is mystifying. Unfortunately for me I can't get excited about January although I hope I'm wrong.
  17. Yet another defensive master class from Collins first half. Can't wait for his second half performance. The guy is clueless and how he's keeping Clark out of the side is a mystery to me. His positional acumen is non existent. A modern day Steve Sims. With him and Hutton in the team it's like having 9 players on the pitch.
  18. Agree with this. IMHO a lot of what's bad at Villa is down to Faulkner and a lot of what is good at Villa is down to Randy.
  19. I'll ask Mike tomorrow when I see him !!!!!!!]
  20. Warnock's a more than capable left back, rated by many in the game. He's an easy target for his detractors though and won't be given any credit at all by some no matter how well he performs.
  21. Absolutely this. The trouble is, I really can't see Ireland winning over the doubters at Villa now unless he starts scoring a hattrick every other game while getting back for a few goal-line clearances/Bobby Moore style saving tackles at the other end. Just putting in good solid 7/10 performances with some nice passing and movement isn't going to cut it, sadly. Spot on guys. 100% agree. Sadly because there are so many that want to criticise him at every opportunity I doubt we will see the best of him in a Villa shirt.
  22. who says he's behind weimann? McLeish won't let Weimann go back out on loan but is happy to send Fonz out. how do you know? From a very good source. I don't want to say who mentioned it to me for obvious reasons

  24. Agree 100%. Randy is a nice guy and no doubt well meaning but when it really matters his judgement is flawed.
  25. He's behind Weimann in the pecking order so my money's on him leaving
