  1. I don't get the whole appeal of Jeff Buckley. I don't think he was particularly talented at all. Very very overrated IMO.

How awesome was that car at the end though? An electric car you don't have to charge up? Incredible technological advance if they can pull that off.
  3. That's why it should be Terry and Aled! (although I quite like Leona Lewis' cover of Run)
  4. Oh. Then call it that! That's its official name! Terry and Aled will be Christmas number 1.
  5. No it doesn't make sense. One album, mostly covers..
  6. Aled Jones and Terry Wogan - Little Drummer Boy. It deserves it. And it's a charity single. So if people want to stop X Factor getting to number one why not buy this.. not only does it have more of a chance of actually stopping X Factor, but all the money goes to Children In Need.

Report in the Daily Mirror/Sun today that a lorry driver is blaming Top Gear after losing control of his lorry. Apparently Top Gear gave a 'tip' that if you find your lorry snaking to accellerate to 65mph. He did this and crashed.
  8. Yeah, can't stand him. Don't find him at all funny.
  9. I thought the ref had a mare too. I don't think he was particularly biased.. I think both sets of fans can pick out moments where they felt cheated. He was just generally rubbish, IMO.
  10. Fellaini was quality today I agree. I hope Everton can hang onto him but I wouldn't be surprised to see Arsenal putting in a bid for him. They need a defensive midfielder. And a 'defensive midfielder' who has his attacking qualities suits Arsenal perfectly.

No it didn't. Remember Clarkson 'remembered' how his boat had actually exploded and he was dead, and how Hammond had been mown down by a hit and run driver... The speed climber one was funny. Double or quits race back down.

But it didn't.. The boat got their first - but as Hammond explained, the competition wasn't the fastest way there - it was the perfect way there. Hammond had a great drive in comfort and May was thrown about, bruised and felt sick, and wanted to come back with Hammond in the car. Top Gear would never allow the car to lose

Of course they were staged I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was genuinely stopped (especially the boat as police do check paperwork on boats that costly quite commonly), and to make entertainment out of it they staged the other. I still think Top Gear needs an epic challenge to bring itself back on track. It needs a 'we bought 3 cars that don't work and put them through a load of ludicrously difficult tests with hilarious consequences' style thing - or something like the North Pole/Bugatti vs Plane/Tokyo challenge - to get it back on track though. It's verged back into the realms of a car review and chat show - but it's popularity has only soared since it got away from that and became more of an entertainment show.

I agree Chindie, I thought that exact same thing when it was on. Good episode, it just didn't seem to have any... consistency. It was just 'heres a car, now to another one, now to a random chat with someone no-one knows, now to a race between a random car and a boat...' Quite funny though, and the best audience participation there's been for a while.
  15. He isn't that good. Yes he is. It's not a case of who's the better player - which obviously we are all going to think is Petrov - it's a case of how much he lifts the team and the players around him. It isn't necessarily your best player, just someone that gives the team a bit of confidence and offers something new. The game against Wigan was just terrible for Everton.. not just the result, but the performance. They need something to boost the players and give them a kick up the arse, and Pienaars return could well be their answer for that. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll have a big impact just not as big an impact as when Petrov came back for us. You can't compare the two IMO. *cough* This is just what Everton needed to get back on track. Bugger. On the bright side, we play them at Goodison Park next week.. they seem to be far better away from home - as do we. If we lose that though, Everton are level with us on points.
  16. 5 years ago I was probably off my head on some sort of chemical substance in college. Life was good back then.. but I suppose my quality of life has gone up in 5 years... although I don't have as much fun as I did back then. Hasn't been a steady incline though.. after college I hit a pretty big trough in my last job, and have only really turned my life around this year.
  17. Im not sure that's true all of the time. The remakes of the very outdated horror films such as The Ring have worked pretty well. As did Casino Royale with Bond... but these films were quite poor originally due to low budgets and ancient technology.. but had the story to be good. It's like covering a great song though - if it's brilliant as it is, leave it alone. If it aint broke don't fix it.
  18. After seeing what they did with The Italian Job I would like to cast a vote to keep them away from the classics! Remake a mediocre film to make a good film.. but do not remake an epic to make it mediocre.
  19. You ate a whole wheel of cheese? Wow.. that's impressive.. I should be angry, but that's amazing.
  20. 4 years to go and talking about seeing out his contract? Doesn't round right to me.
