leviramsey Posted January 13, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted January 13, 2013 You do have to wonder if the Falcons manage to lose this what the consequences in Atlanta will be. (if the Falcons lose this, Gonzalez will be ofer in playoff games)

leviramsey Posted January 13, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) Back in a Raiders-Chargers game (it might even have been a playoff game), the Raiders late in the game needed a touchdown and fortuitously fumbled the ball forwards resulting in a recovery in the endzone and a winning TD. A few Raiders players have since hinted that the fumbles were by design to get around what in rugby would be called 'knock-on'; the play is known as the Holy Roller. That offseason, the NFL instituted a rule that in the last two minutes, only the fumbling player or a defender can recover and advance the ball. If a teammate of the fumbler recovers the ball, he is immediately down. EDIT: correction, the ball is replaced at the spot of the fumble. wiki Edited January 13, 2013 by leviramsey
