Divisional Weekend

Back in a Raiders-Chargers game (it might even have been a playoff game), the Raiders late in the game needed a touchdown and fortuitously fumbled the ball forwards resulting in a recovery in the endzone and a winning TD. A few Raiders players have since hinted that the fumbles were by design to get around what in rugby would be called 'knock-on'; the play is known as the Holy Roller.

That offseason, the NFL instituted a rule that in the last two minutes, only the fumbling player or a defender can recover and advance the ball. If a teammate of the fumbler recovers the ball, he is immediately down.

EDIT: correction, the ball is replaced at the spot of the fumble.
