We all want a new signing but who should they replace?

Why do we need to REPLACE anybody? thought we we are in the process of trying to build up a half decent squad?? Can't afford to replace anybody now!! I think our first 11 is as good as most, problems kick in when we have injuries or suspensions

Yeah he was a little bit unlucky last season, missing a lot of opportunities, but he makes it up with his uncredible pace. I'd reckon he will score a lot of goals this season, and I'm looking forward to it!

He is such a fast guy, probably the speediest in the PL.

do you actually watch any villa games. I think i was happy with his performance may be once last season at home. He isnt good enough to start for england and he rarely actually uses his pace cause his work rate is appalling. Im not moaning at him for missed chances, im moaning at him for really poor games. Where i sit in the holte, when he comes off people cheer because he's getting subbed not because he's played well. It really anoys me when he's just standing around or ambling around the pitch refusing to get stuck in and looking uniterested while Juan Pablo is all over the place chasing everything and working his ass off.

Still not convinced with barry, he seemed to dift into the centre a bit much for my liking when he was playing on the left wing, this is anoying when Jloyd's gone down the left and cant get a cross in and barry is off in the centre so doesnt give him the support. Just one complaint but we will see.

"Solano made a huge impact" - did he really ?, how many of his games did you watch ?. i was at the games and i think you may be wrong squire. he did ok, nothing more nothing less. had a few really good games and a few really average games, and then missed a lot of games. hardly what anyone would call a 'huge' impact

Yeah id have to agree with this. Im sure his injury didnt help but im sure that aslong as he gets/ has got a good pre season in then we will see the best of him. His crossing was a bit disapointing at times as well which is suprizing for solano.

I'm with Norway on this. Barry is an exceptional player, but I dont think he is best suited for LM with the current squad. When Solano has the ball, you expect a lot more to happen, he is much more attack minded then barry, and willing to take people on. Barry's game seems to be a lot more reserved, defensive minded.

Of the all the games last season, I think we looked a lot better going forward when we Whittingham on the left, he liked to get up, and cause trouble. When Barry started on the left, J'LLoyd was the player running the flank and taking people on, leaving us dangerously open at the back. I'm not saying I would like Barry to be replaced, but he has to run at people a lot more, we need an attacking edge on both flanks as we lack skill and flair in the centre.

and the reason this thread is perhaps quite negative is because almost every other thread talked about who we should sign etc etc so i just wandered who these signings should replace, it seems that it will be vass (which i think is harsh, but not surprising), and gav, which is both harsh and surprising i think

Only because, I wouldn't change the back four or sorenson.

I certainly wouldn't drop Solano, Barry or Hitz

And I'm happy with Angel and Vassell upfront.

I really like McCann, he's a good 'honest' player but out of the starting 11, by default, he's the one i'd change.
