KenjiOgiwara
Limpid, Tegis and others know more about this than I will ever know, but what's the intended use? Gaming? Price range? If it's just normal this and that with minor statistics work I can recommend Dell XPS 13. Good build quality and handled most things well. I'd probably consider Asus as well. I've had had gaming laptops, regular laptops and chromebooks and the quality is top notch. Edited December 13, 2019 by KenjiOgiwara
Sam-AVFC
I’m after a new laptop and could use some advice too. I had an ASUS one a few years ago that was fantastic, but it’s probably 8 years old now and in a sorry state physically. The WiFi on it has also died so it only picks up the internet if right next to the router. I’m more than happy to get a refurbished or end of line model if it gets me more for my money and from a trusted seller. Don’t mind if it’s Windows or a Mac. Ideally I’d like to not spend more than £700 but can stretch this if there’s something substantially better if I spend a bit more. Mostly it will just be used for browsing and Skyping my sister/niece. I’ll play a few games on it like FM and some old stuff in my steam catalogue. I’m unlikely to buy any new games so don’t need it to run the latest stuff. In an ideal world it will have a SSD (even if just a small one), decent battery life and not struggle with overheating. Any help would be much appreciated!
Sam-AVFC
I’ll quite like to order something tomorrow if possible so if anyone can help I’ll donate £50 to a good cause of your choice.
limpid Posted December 19, 2019 Administrator Share Posted December 19, 2019 I can only recommend chromebooks unless you are a gamer - in which case you wouldn't be asking.

These are at the top of your budget but they are good machines and will last a long time. The Surfaces have higher resolution and if Amazon has them easier to get. https://classic.pricespy.co.uk/product.php?p=5047933 https://classic.pricespy.co.uk/product.php?p=4979814 https://classic.pricespy.co.uk/product.php?p=4979221
