limpid Posted January 15, 2015 Administrator Share Posted January 15, 2015 As we don't have a general thread for wearable tech.
Eames
That is just the coolest thing ever. I'd wear those over sunglasses.

Davkaus
It's a fantastic concept, but holy shit is that thing ugly.I'll keep an eye on their future versions in other materials, plastic watches just look terrible to me.
limpid Posted October 23, 2015 Author Administrator Share Posted October 23, 2015 The reason I'm hesitating is the price. That's a lot for a first kickstarter. The video does have a message throughout explaining that this is just a prototype and the finished design will not look like this.
PompeyVillan
The concept is strong though. I'd go GPS and extra battery, everything else is immaterial to me.

I'd keep adding extra battery modules until I have the world's first smart belt.

zak
so it just vibrates when something happens, doesnt tell you whats happened? so for if they have their phone in their bag?
Xann
There's an multicolour LED too. You can assign different combinations of colour and vibration to individual senders or message types.
Dodgyknees
I've ordered an Apple watch. It was either that or the Pebble Time, which of course doesn't do as much on IOS. So that was the battle won.
limpid Posted November 1, 2015 Author Administrator Share Posted November 1, 2015 I'd rather have something waterproof and cheaper with a battery life measured in days, but each to their own.
Dodgyknees
My friend has been using his Apple Watch for a few weeks, he can get just over a day out of his and that'll be fine for me. I will use it for fitness, interacting with my phone, gathering info instead of reaching for the phone - which is a little less than he does with his for the 24 hours - so it'll be perfect for me. If Pebble Time was more set in with IOS, the choice would have been a lot harder. The fact is, I have a mac, Ipad, Iphone and now an Apple Watch, so it just made a little more sense. limpid Posted November 1, 2015 Author Administrator Share Posted November 1, 2015 It's over 30 years since I owned a watch which wasn't waterproof. I guess it's so that Apple can blame that for anything which goes wrong and make everything the buyer's fault. And people still keep giving them money.Clever buggers. Dodgyknees
The last time I had a problem with water damage and an apple product, they replaced the item on the spot - so I am not bothered about that.

I suspect you had the inconvenience of having a failed product and having to make a trip to their premises at further expense to you and yet you see it as a positive.Clever buggers.
