  1. General, To you, Randy, Paul and the rest of the Aston Villa FC Board the club is a business and the product is the football played by the players. In view of this, please convince me why I should spend a considerable amount of my money on your product in the forthcoming season.
  2. An excellent post that says it all. Just reflects what I have been saying in other posts. At last, someone else that can see the wood for the trees.
  3. Maybe you should watch Stoke City then. The reason the national team and a lot of the club sides in this country never win anything is because football is now secondary to winning. Do you think Barcelona and the Spanish national team have your mentality? You may like to watch hoofball every week but in the end football will always rise above it. However, it takes a certain manager, certain coaching methods and certain players to do this and Alex McLeish will never fit this style so good luck watching dross.
  4. Randy and AVFC already look foolish and although the money saved may not make much difference to RL it will make a **** huge difference to me!
  5. Doug Ellis was a word removed of a chairman but not even he created such an anti board feeling and fans protests as have been seen and he would never have poached a shit manager straight from SHA.
  6. Some people will accept any shit that comes their way. In olden times they were called the 'Meek'. I guess today we could call them passive Villa fans.
  7. I can't understand why anyone would pay for their season ticket without knowing what they are buying. No manager in post and everyone and his granny turning us down. Villa are like a rudderless ship and I would not buy a ticket for a cruise unless I knew where I was going. Season tickets will be available throughout the season if you want one. It's not as if we are manure with a big waiting list. The deadlines given by Villa for renewal mean nothing. I spoke to someone in the ticket office and they all but confirmed as much. It is just so that they don't have a rush in a short space of time and nothing to do with them giving your seat away if you don't renew by their deadline.
  8. Aston Villa should have a sizeable queue of good managers expressing an interest in the managerial vacancy. If this is the case then why are we interviewing McLeish? If this is not the case then what is keeping them away? Something is not quite right at VP.
  9. It don't matter whether they appoint him or not now. The media will have a field day about the ineptitude of the board because the board are inept.
  10. Either stupidity is a contagious disease or those on this forum who took the p*ss out of the protesters may have misjudged the feelings of a large number of fans. How is showing how u feel about possibly the worst appointment ever in the clubs history stupid? I mean come on, aslong as these guys keep it peaceful and respectful I think its a great idea, better than just sitting back and watch the club die infront of your eyes!! I suggest you target your posts at those who have been taking the p*ss.

  12. Sorry but we don't think you are healthy enough to carry on working here so if you don't mind we are letting you go. Oh, by the way, could you recommend someone to do your job after you have left. Don't see it myself.
  13. That's what I would expect from knuckle draggers.
  14. Yeah great argument...life or football no difference... I think his point (and he is right) no matter how different the 2 events, is that it is never stupid to protest if you believe strongly enough about something. And it's also quite nice to live somewhere that you are allowed to protest. I have to laugh at those who said stuff like "I don't usually like protests but I'll make an exception this time". Talk about missing the point. You only BOTHER or 'like' a protest if you feel strongly enough to do it. I'm not saying I agree with what they're doing but I certainly feel they're entitled to do it and I don't for a second think they are stupid for doing it. I don't for one second think they shouldn't be able to go and protest, but to bring in things like libya ,syria and bahrain?? How about we pay the money but the products shit...... simple. Murfee, BOF tried to explain to you that you are missing the point. My examples were not intended to be a 'life or football' situation. Obviously, the situations in those countries are far more important than whether Villa get a shit manager or a great manager. My point, and I will reiterate it for you just this once, is that if you believe in something strongly enough to protest then it is not really right for others to say they look stupid.
  15. Tell the people of Libya, Syria, Bahrain etc. that it's not worth protesting for something that you believe in and that it makes them look stupid.
  16. Randy Lerner et al know that fans will blindly follow and support the team and hand over their hard earned cash for tickets and merchandise no matter what. All football owners know this (even Mike Ashley at Newcastle). They know that fans will moan on internet forums, they know that fans will moan in newspapers, they know that they may lose a few thousand fans off the average attendances (not that a few hundred thousand pounds per week makes much difference in the grand scheme of things and equates to a couple of average footballer salaries). However, like politicians, they also know that there is nothing that the fans can really do about changing things by moaning. Everyone of us has a personal choice, some will go and get behind the new manager whoever he is and some will decide to vote with their feet and stay away. There is no right and there is no wrong it is purely a personal choice. One thing we all have in common (whether we have a 'In Randy We Trust' outlook on things or we have a 'He's Screwed Us Over' outlook on things) is our love for Aston Villa and a deep passion and desire for us to be the best team in the world. It probably won't happen but we live in hope and when we see that things aren't as we think they should be then we vent our spleen in whichever way we can. To those that want to moan and formally protest I say good luck and I hope it works. To those that think moaning and protesting is small time and want to achieve their objectives in some other way I say good luck and I hope it works. The moral of this is that we, as Villa fans, do whatever we feel is right to help our club 'Aston Villa' above any owner, above any manager above all else. Together we stand, divided we fall.
  17. Getting a team relegated twice in 3 seasons makes you a very bad manager, regardless to where you previously managed. That would be a perfectly valid point if McLeish had been in charge of a decent and stable premiership club like Bolton or Blackburn, fact is he was in charge of a yo-yo club that is always on the verge of relegation. When he arrived it was in November, which left him no time to make any signings or do anything constructive to stop the team from being relegated. This season there was practically nothing he could do as his already weak squad was hit by injuries to his key players. If you want to blame him for the relegations you must also give him credit for getting a poor Blues side their highest EVER premier league finish and winning them their first trophy in decades. If he arrived in November then he had a January transfer window and about 6 months to prevent them from being relegated. As for injuries to his key players I don't think any team in the PL had as many injuries to key players for as many months as Villa did. We had a manager walk out on us 5 days before the season started. We then appointed a manager that hadn't managed in the PL for a number of years and who made so many PR gaffs it was laughable and then to top it off the manager has a heart scare a month before the season ends. No amount of excuses can make McLeish seem like he is a good manager but just got unlucky.
  18. I guess that the owner needs to make those 'donate' buttons bigger :winkold: Thanks, I never knew that wanking into a jar would make my internet browsing experience much better. I'll give it a go.
  19. This site is so slow. It takes an eternity just to click between pages.
  20. Ignorance and prejudice in 3 UK cities? That's the sort of politically correct, ill informed and pointless response I would expect from someone who clearly doesn't understand that the 3 clubs mentioned have hundreds of thousands of supporters all over the world not just confined to 3 cities in the UK. Perhaps it was a pointless response to a pointless statement. Congratulations, you are the first person to ever describe me as politically correct. Most of the posts on here are pointless. That is what this farcical period has done to us. If you think a post is pointless (and mine may well have been) then just don't bother responding with something equally as pointless.

  22. Yanks at Liverplop, they had no clue, the fans kicked off. Yanks at Manure, they have no clue, the fans kicked off. Yanks at Villa, they seem to not have a clue, fans are kicking off. Mmmm, there seems to be an underlying problem here.
  23. This is a message to the fans of Aston Villa. The Club has been reluctant to elaborate publicly on our search for a new manager and, in particular, to confirm or deny our interest in specific candidates. This is not a new policy, indeed it is the approach that we have taken both in regard to managerial prospects, and potential player signings. The Club understands that Alex McLeish is a free agent. We therefore intend to interview him imminently in order to make a decision regarding his candidacy to become Villa manager. From the beginning of our search, we have set out criteria based on proven Premier League experience, compelling leadership, an ethic for hard work and, most importantly, sharing our vision for Aston Villa as we know that without a shared vision any appointment, however attractive, will ultimately fail. Since 2006 we have approached our custodianship of Villa based on a broad-based strategy of significant investment to improve the squad, the training ground and Villa Park. We feel it is essential to select a manager who understands and supports our strategy for the Club to grow and to be sustainable. Otherwise, the natural tensions and competitive pressures that are involved with every season will ultimately cause instability and make continuity impossible. We would, however, like to emphasise that in deciding to interview Alex McLeish, the Board has taken his tenure at our local rivals and the strong emotions associated with this very seriously. We are determined, still, not to allow that three-and-a-half year post to disqualify him should he be the best candidate for the role of Aston Villa manager. WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT!
  24. This period in Villa's history is the darkest since we went down to the old 3rd Division. We might be in the PL but not for much longer if this board don't get its act together. I have never seen such despondency and disgust aimed at the Villa hierarchy in over 40 years of supporting Villa and no amount of free badges, scarves and banners will get RL out of this mess. Only the appointment of a top manager with a pedigree for playing quality football will appease the fans now. Watch the attendances slump massively if McLeish or some other dross manager is appointed. We have had enough. Bright future and Champions League football my arse. In 5 years RL has turned Villa into the laughing stock of the football world and the sports media.
  25. I would rather have DOL than McLeish. The bloke is **** negative and boring and makes Tony Pulis look like Arsene Wenger.
