Really just a shockingly inept manager. It's not common that you come up against such toothless, mentally wobbly opposition as Newcastle, but Lambert and his squad of plodders gave them a massive gift today. Terrible subs and no sense of a game plan. He comes across as a man out of his depth, just totally winging it. Lerner's rotten but Lambert's ineptitude is no more forgivable for all that.

In what way should we not be losing? We've only started playing well for the final 20 minutes and all of that can be attributed to one player who didn't start. His deliveries are still not being converted, because Benteke's the only 1 of 3 strikers who's getting on the end of crosses and he's still not hitting the target. Fully deserved loss.

Benteke has been shocking, really poor touch and lack of awareness whenever the ball finds its way to him. Depressing sight just then where Delph was in a position to pass on the edge of their area, but our forwards were all bunched up and static, hidden among their defence. Shit shape to this team. Guzan should have stayed on his feet but like nearly all goal keepers he dived in unnesscessarily and gave away a penalty. Terrible goalkeeping. Just stay on your feet and make the player beat you, don't make it easy for him. Bullshit. Staying on your feet makes it easy for a player to slide it under you. He played it almost perfectly and the ref got conned. Agreed. Suarez would not have failed to pick a spot had Guzan stayed up. Coming out forced Suarez wider than he wanted to be. Guzan pulled his arms back when he saw he wasn't getting it, at which point the angle would already have been very difficult for Suarez to score from at speed. Good keeping. Zero to minimal contact apart from Suarez' deliberate trailing leg. The problem is that Suarez is a diving scumbag.

That Hull counterattack came through a move that broke down between Kozak and Weimann. Keeping them on could cost us the draw, never mind 3pts. Decent effort from KEA though.
