  1. Results wise there isn't much between Houllier and McLeish (at the moment). However, if you'd actually read my posts you'll see that it's not the results I've been complaining about. The football under McLeish now is 10 times worse than under Houllier. We weren't Barcelona or anything but it was far better than what's happening now. ANYTHING is better than what's happening now. McLeish's brand of football (if it can be called that) is the worst I've ever seen. Not only that but he sets the team up REALLY negatively. If we were playing like this under Houllier I would've complained just as much. So no, no hypocrisy at all from me. Just because I wasn't against Houllier doesn't mean I can't be against McLeish. You keep supporting my view and making yourself look daft. You've taken the simple idea of two managers performing shit and looked at the different circumstances surrounding both and used that to form two different opinions. That's good, that's what sensible people do. The problem is when others have done the same regarding the cup exits you've called them hypocrites. Which is mind blowingly hypocritical and you fail to see this. Wow :? Except managerial reigns and "throwing" cup games are two completely different things.
  2. Warnock's been on the whole poor this season, along with most of our defence.
  3. Come on folks, I thought we'd left this behind? Houllier's gone and has been for a long while. We're all united in that we want McLeish gone.
  4. As I said in the other thread, we weren't Barcelona but it was still far better than what we have now. I think people are underestimating just how bad the football is now.
  5. Would you prefer McLeish over Houllier?
  6. A month or so ago I would've adamantly said we're not going down. Now I'm not so sure.
  7. I must admit I wasn't too fussed when Houllier went. Even though I could see what he was trying to do it didn't exactly work out and he'd have a mountain to climb to rebuild his relationship with a lot of fans. Not only that but he clearly had health problems anyway. I thought we'd go out and get somebody fairly decent. I was wrong. I really miss him now. I miss O'Neill as well, and I hate him with a passion. I miss enjoying watching my team. I envy practically fans of all other clubs because odds are, they're at least being partially entertained by their team. McLeish is the football equivalent of a **** Dementor (soul sucking things from Harry Potter for those who don't know). He's sucking the life and soul out of the very club.
  8. Never considered that first point. Gives me just a bit of hope that Randy will indeed get rid of McLeish if things carry on like this.
  9. Yes but that was in early March not early December. McLeish has **** up a whole lot sooner. Oh yeah I know, I just thought it was weird that's all. I also recall us playing Bolton away straight after we got thrashed 7-1 at Chelsea a couple of seasons ago.

  11. If there are banners at the Liverpool game, it would be a rather odd coincidence, as it was also the first home game after Bolton away when the first Houllier out banner popped up last season
  12. I don't really get this "with time McLeish will do well with us" thing. Did people not watch his SHA team play at all?
  13. Alex McLeish - the man who finished 3rd in a 2 horse race. Sums him up perfectly.
  14. And he got them relegated. Twice. And he had them playing some of the worst football ever seen in the league.
  15. Hopefully Bent makes his frustrations clear to Randy.
  16. Also, most of the people didn't vote no are unsure. Amazing. Has a Villa manager ever united the fans this much?
  17. Good. The mans a total waste of time in this current set-up. Partly due to the set -up and partly due to his lack of ability. Behave. He showed last season that given the right set up he can score goals for fun. If you think Bent leaving is good then you're absolutely barking mad. Yes, but its quite clear that the right set up for Bent isn't going to happen. He also seems unwilling/unable to adapt to the system. All that indicates is that it's the manager that needs to go, not Bent. What do you mean, unwilling? Unless you just expect him to grow 5 inches and bulk up into a big clogger then what else can he do?
  18. I actually don't like seeing Carroll doing badly, because I fear they'll come in for Bent.

  20. I'm not being hypocritical though. :?
  21. If you ignore all the issues surrounding both scenarios then yes it's pretty hypocritical, however i think ignoring those issues is pretty idiotic and pointless. Like its been pointed out the situations are different and therefore the decisions can be judged differently. Both are instances where the manager has "thrown" the game in order to gain some form of benefit in the league. There isn't much difference there. I already preemptively answered this in one of the McLeish threads. I wasn't happy with the results but I agreed with some of what he was trying to do. He didn't get a pre-season either hence why I said we should give him time. With McLeish however he's had a pre-season yet we're playing the absolute worst football I've ever seen at Villa. He's negative and we submit tamely to any big team we play. Last season we were inconsistent in that sometimes we were dire and yet other times we gave it a real good go. This season under McLeish we seem to have settled into a pattern of playing dire pretty much every game.
  22. Because that's the reaction people get when they find out he's been appointed manager of their team. "Flippin' eck what a shit manager!"
  23. Are you Gareth in disguise?
