  1. even my gf said, 'I thought you were the away side, dont you have less fans then them there?' as a watched on ITV and sang along with the booming renditions of the Villa classics!!! Big applause to all the travelling fans. Very Very loud
  2. I would also add Petrov, Petrov and Petrov. :winkold: Thats just ridiculous I forgot, any form of fun on this website isn't allowed. Even the slightest bit. The opinion of petrov being offloaded is ridiculous, not you pointing out that he had made a typo

  4. Thats a positive look on it Nope, but what i think. Could just say i think we'll win every game. Fair point
  5. Totally agree. Hmm, although you could just about say that of Richard Dunne as well Couldn't walk into the AC Milan team could he??? Yes, Laursen's style of rushing out of the defencive line and winning headers doesn't go down so well in Italy. Caused more problems than you think for us

  7. I think you've got something else wrong- who suggested that Dunne wasn't In the top bracket of current prem defenders? Also what has the peoples opinion of Laursen got to do with Heskey? I dont really rate Heskey for a start. And you say that Dunnes the 2nd best CB at the moment (possibly true). What about his 9 years at city? where was he then. Lets get something straight just because the noses current form has been decent their better than everybody else? Do me a favour. Or would you see if they can do it for a period of time that states its not just a flash in the pan or a team playing above themselves? Something Villa have also done in the past. I think your horribly wrong in the common sense department. Possibly you pigeon-holed your own and forgot where you put it. But heh! its only an opinion! First of all - I didnt claim that anybody had said Dunne wasn't in the top bracket of current defenders. The peoples opinion of Heskey has nothing to do with Laursen. Im just used saying 'heskey is a mule' is of similar comparison to saying 'Laursen is better than Dunne' - There both completely wrong imo. For his 9 years at City, Dunne was very good too. Just not in the limelight. You don't win 4 player of the year awards - on the bounce without being superb, no matter what premiership club you are at. Christ sake, Laursen couldn't even manage playing 4 seasons on the bounce without getting injured. Judging a players attributes isn't all down to skill and how much he loves villa!! Not sure where the stuff about Birmingham has come from. People don't want to hear a bad word about Laursen because he always gave his all, and he sadly got injured. It happens, Its football. But lets not pretend he was a world class defender. He never won anything. AC Milan won things (whilst he was there) but he never won anything. And why could he not get into the Milan team, because they had world class defenders!!! hold on a minute though, people on here are saying Laursen was world class so surely he should have been able to break into the team?????????????? Or perhaps 'common sense' would say he wasn't world class.
  8. Its amazing the effect a post title has on a discussion. The OP is pretty much what I was trying to say in the 'was Laursen really any good' thread - I just obviously worded it horribly wrong. However Anyone who has suggested that Laursen is better than Dunne, can be put in the same pigeon hole as those who think Emile Heskey is a mule.......... ..... People who know absolutely nothing about football!!!!! Richard Dunne is for me the 2nd best CB in the league at the moment behind John Terry. I think Vidic, when playing and fit, is up there with Terry, but other than that I see no other prem league defenders in the same league. Laursen, although good, was in the next bracket down for me, with your Vermaelens, Ferdinands, Gallas, Carvalho's etc.
  9. Another tough prem fixture. This is as losable as it is winnable so lets not get on their backs if they dont come home with 3 points
  10. Can tell weve won **** all for the past 15 years
  11. James Milner is the banker off Deal or No Deal
  12. You've got too much time on your hands mate
  13. James Milner could clear the big red balls on total wipeout!!!
  14. Its ok, James Milner is clearing Ewood Park and its surroundings as we speak!!! He will then piggy back us all there.
  15. inglorious basterds best supporting actor oscar - christophe waltz
  16. No way were we totally outclassed. Pretty even til they scored. Then they just hit us as we wer going for it. 3-0 flattered them in my opinion
  17. All this positivity on here. Amazing weve not won the league!!! 1 Loss since November 4th, Hardly let a goal in and wer still moaning that O'Neill dunt pick the rite team
  18. You can hardly Link Milners pass to Ronney's. From Milners pass, Arsenal still had to travel 80 yards of the pitch, while Ronney gifted it to them in the penalty area. Milners pass led to Arsenal going 2-0 up, Rooneys led to 1-1 Man Utd were playing Hull, We were playing Arsenal. Think we need to be quite aware that this game is very losable, and while I think we need to win if we want to break in to the top 4 (psychologically wise (not points as it will still be very possible)), it will not be a complete diasaster if we don't. I quite would have happily taken 2 draws before Arsenal/Liverpool as we would have kept in touch while remaining unbeaten - so 3 points over the 2 games would be great imo
  19. Please somebody point out our four clean sheets in a row. And we have the best defensive record in the league
  20. I think 2draws would be decent enough results!! Anyone agree?
  21. The mysterious picture in the film RocknRolla is a portrait of James Milner
